He resided with his family in Fort Wayne, Indiana in 1860 and 1870 according to the US Census. I can't find him 1880 and so on. Michael Flood, declared 1 Nov 1854, native of Ireland, age 29, migrated from Waterford, arrived in the US in Jul 1849.

Greetings, I don't know if we're related. Andrew Flood was born in 1836 or 1837, possibly in Co. Westmeath. He married Catherine Dinnen or Dinnan and had 2 sons that we know of, Thomas and Peter. We don't know anything about Thomas. Peter was born in 1865 and emigrated to New York City where he married Mary Mulvey. He died in 1913. I am the descendant of Peter Flood and Mary Mulvey.

I, too, am researching the McNews. Ludella McNew (Indiana) was my grandmother. I was given up for adoption at about 17 months and never knew her. Would love to connect to any living relatives and would truly love to see a picture of her. I have found a picture of her sister, Flossie McNew and I resemble her.

Not sure that anyone knows about me, so it would need to be handled discreetly.

I am trying to locate information on an Andrew Flood who married Catherine Dinnen. Catherine d. Jul 04, 1866 in Moher, Cavan, Ireland. They had one son Peter Flood b. June 10, 1865 in Stradone, Cavan, Ireland. After Catherine died Andrew emigrated to the US and setteled in Somers New York USA and then married a woman named Margaret and started a new family. I am trying to locate information about Andrew in Ireland. His birthplace, parents and any brothers, sisters and family that he had there. Any information about him and his family in Ireland would be appreciated. I have Catherine's & Peters death certificate's and and other documents from Ireland showing thier connedction etc.

I am not sure of the names John and Patrick Flood ---- my Henry Flood, born abt 1800 in possibly New Hampshire or Connecticut, his father, Richard Flood born 1763 in Raymond, Rockingham County, New Hampshire and Riohard's father was Henry Flood who was married to Rhoda (last name unknown).

Our family lore says that our family came from Ireland so that rules out the 'other' Richard Flood in New Hampshire since he descends from Philip Flood of the Isle of Guernsey.

I am hopiing to find our link back to Ireland.

My name is John L. Moore..for the past 10 yrs ive tried to find all the info i can bout my double great grandfather's family. He was named John Flood. son of Hugh and Catherine. I dont know when they came to the states from Ireland but i do know they did. Hugh died in 1855 in Geusee depot, Wi. any information about him, his parents or sibblings please contact me via ancestry.com. I do know he had a brother who died in civil war named Phillip and his mother was in Rhode Island with a sister in 1880. and one sister married a denny from Rhode island

He is my ggg granfather. He had at least five sons by his second wife. He emigrated to US from Ireland after the death of his first wife Catherine Dinnen or Dineen. His son Peter from the first marriage is my gg grandfather. Andrew supposedly retired at age 70 and lived till the age of 101. There is one large branch of my Dad's family fromPeter Flood's daughter Susn. He also had a daughter Rose (my Aunt), Mary (my g-ma), and son Bernard, who never married.

The name John Flood was on my father's death certificate I'm not so sure if this is correct. By being so young when he passed away we children never got a chance to even talk to our mother about him because she passed away 3 months later. Been thru the census records and it seems that he never existed the maiden name of his mother on the certificate is (Cora Davis) but could not find anything for her. My father had no formal schooling of any kind could hardly read or write, before his sickness I was teaching him to read from starter books and the alphabet to form words did not have enough time for completion. I wouuld greatly appreciate any help to find someone from his side of the family.

I had already read your post, and wondered. Going further is what it's all about. The joy of our doing this at this time affords us the opportunity to be unafraid of the past, whatever we might find in the process of our search. So from where I sit, of course we may communicate, and it would be a privilege and honor for me.

In reading John Flood's will(b 1758 VA d 18 Apr 1828 VA), I am aware that they owned several slaves. I have also examined census records that indicate some branch of the Floods may have been slave brokers of some kind, though I've not tied John Flood to that family.

If it were possible, I would someday like to know what happened to them after John's 1828 demise.

I'd be interested to know how you feel about what I've said.

Addie married a Skaggs
Lilly died at age 22
William Edward (Edd) children were Frances Flood Scott, Thomas Hampton Flood, William Edward Flood, Jr.
Fred's children were Mrs Bobbie Beaty, Edd Flood, Mamie Ellen Flood.
Thomas H. Flood married Alva B ?

Looking for info on Murtha and Bridget(Russell) Flood of Wicklow, Ireland. He was born in County Wicklow (don't know when) and married Briget Russell in County Kildare in 1829. Murtha died in 1837 but we don't know where in Ireland. They were Catholic. They had three children: Andy (1826-1831), Catherine (born 1827ish) and Lawrence (1830-1912). Lawrence immigrated to Clearfied, Pennsylvania after his mom died in 1850. Does anyone have info on Murtha's life in Ireland?

My name is Barbara Joyce Flood Brown, I am trying to find any african american Flood's located in North Carolina. I want to find any of my father's family members, per my birth record his birthplace was Rich Square NC but the death record read Scarlet Neck NC I'm confused about this. My dad's DOB was 12/15/1902 (first initial of (A) or Elgina Buster Flood) passed away 9/19/55 in Baltimore MD and my mother Rebecca Chesson Flood soon passed 3 months later. Three children were left behind my brother James Robert Flood which was 7 years old at that time older brother William Alexander Flood was 13 years old and I was 11 years old. Attaching photos of him as a cook at University Hospital in Baltimore MD and living chlidren and some of his grandchildren his death record states that his father's name was John Flood and mother's maiden name was Cora Davis. This is all the information that I have to search with hope to get a response very soon. I'm not sure but I think I have found relatives. See below this information was taken from the 1910 USA census.,

It appears that Rev. Jonathan Flood was born at Harper's Ferry Virginia in 1781. I also found Edward Francis Flood on a 1790 Virginia Tax list. That would be the father of Rev. Jonathan Flood and Francis Flood.

I found reference to the Reverend Jonathan Flood and his brother Francis, Francis' son Robert Flood in History of DeWitt County Illinois: with biographical sketches of prominent representative citizens of the county. I realize this is an old post but... Rev. Jonathan Flood had a brother Francis Flood, my ggg-grandfather. I have some info on the children of Francis and would like some on the Rev. Jonathan Flood. Francis was born in 1787 and Jonathan was born about 1781. I have conflicting birth places for Francis one saying Virginia and one Pennsylvania.

Trying to locate any family members, my father died when I was 11 years old. Met his mother only once before he passed I think her name was Cora Flood not sure. My father's name was either Algina Flood or Algina Buster Flood, found both on our birth certificates. Per the little information I do have he either lived in Norfolk, Va or Rich Square, NC. Would love to contact any of our family members that are still living. He left three surviving children which one is now deceased. Do appreciate any and all responses.
