Some info that i have come up with has founfd that the Florian name comes from Germany and Italy. Most of My Family however comes from Italy.

This is my first relative in the US, Erasmus Florian....his family lived in San Antonio....there is a preserved house there, called the Florian House, that is near the riverwalk...very modest. One of his kids, Charles Florian, ended up running the business, and I believe a bank too, in San Antonio. If you have any more info, please let me know

I am trying to trace my paternal grandmother's roots in Chechozlovokia (formerly Sudol, Bohemia). Her maiden name was Mary Elizabeth Florian. She was born Feb. 7, 1870. She emmigrated to the US with her family in the late 1800's and settled in St. Paul, MN eventually, where she met and married Frank Xavier Schneider.

Yes, you are correct. My ancestors Jacob & Marie did immigrate from Suchdol nad Luznici in 1876 and I had them researched by a genealogist in the Czech Republic. I now have the family tree back to the 1600's with all the land records and pictures of houses they lived in. I found them in the Worth County, IA 1880 census and know they were buried in St. Paul, MN. I am presently trying to find information about their time in New Prague, MN after leaving Iowa. Any suggestions where I might look? Kathy

Dodge, Iowa to Jerald and Helen (Florian) Hastie. He married Carol McKethen on July 25, 1971, in Evergreen, Colo. Survivors include his wife of Bend; one son, Matthew of Bend; two daughters, Marisa Hastie-Barsness of Eugene and Meghan of Corvallis; and his mother, Helen Hastie of Bend.

I am 33. My grandfather was John F. Czaja, most likely a brother of your great grandparent (frank or felix).
My grandmother's name is Eva, but her maiden name was originally "Fantom".

My great grandparents Jacob Florian and his wife Mary Svoboda immigrated to US from Suchdol, Bohemia sometime after 1871.They had children Mary, Elizabeth, Katerine, Louise, Theresa, Christine, Rose and James. My grandmother, Mary, was born in Suchdol on Feb. 7, 1871. They settled in St. Paul, Minnesota. I am trying to locate the specific Suchdol that they are from and any relatives in the Czech Republic. Frank Florian and Julia Dushet

I am looking for information on Julia Dushet
married a man named Frank Florian. Julia would
have been born around the turn of the century,
and her and Frank were suppose to have lived
in or around Chicago.

The story on the family is my GG Grandmother
was named Anna Dushet (1844-1917). She was born
in or around Prauge. She had an illegitamate son
named Steve before she married my GG Grandfather
Joe Rous. They lived near the Kewaunee / Manitowoc
county line in Wisconsin. Steve moved north after
he left home and married a woman named Frances.
Together they hade several children. The only
one I know anything about was Julia, and all I
know is she married Frank Florian. My grandmother
met Steve and his family only several times,
and she said his children were quite a bit older
than her. (She was born in 1917).

I'm just getting started on this, so any suggestions or recommendations would be welcomed. My Grandfather was Thomas Frank Florian, born 12/03/1884 in Czechoslovakia(Bohemia) in a town or city called "Trebon"...but I am not sure where this is...and would like to know for sure. He died in Stevensville, Michigan on 09/25/39. He was married to Antoinette (Kandera) Florian, who was born 06/04/1881 in, I believe "Suchdol", Czechoslovakia ... and again, I do not know where this town or city is and would like to fine out. My Grandmother died in Stevensville, Michigan on 06/01/52. They lived and worked in Chicago...their home there was at 2916 Lowe Avenue. They moved to Michigan, but I do not know when. I would very much like to learn more about my Grandparents and perhaps visit the towns or cities they were born in to find out more about them. I first problem is that I cannot seem to locate these towns or cities on any maps...need help. Also would like to know when they came to America, and where they came in. Any information and/or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks...

Charles Florian m. Augusta Stenzel (b. abt. 1872). They had three children: Mabel, Ella?, and Charles. Augusta's parents were Charles Stenzel and Caroline Johanna Birkholz. She had four brothers: Robert, who died at 21 due to a horse and carriage/wagon accident; Herman, who was a street car conductor;Charles, who worked at the stockyards; and Paul, who was an ironworker.
They all lived in Chicago area.
Any information I can use to update my family tree would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Marie, I am also looking for family. My mother's maiden name was Florian. She was born in Witzheim Germany in 1925. She had 10 brothers and sisters. All as far as she knew died in the war. Her parents name were Edward & Rosalie. Witzheim no longer is listed, it was taken over by Russia after WW2. Let me know, thanks, Monica

I have a match on Charles Florian Married to Augusta. His father and mother were born in Bohemia (though the name is not known). His brother George Florian is my great-great grandfather. George was born June17, 1871 in Bohemia and died August 11, 1949. His spouse is Wilhelmina Marie Novy. George and Charles' other brothers and sisters are Josephine, Mary, Henry C., Fred, Elizabeth, Jennie, and a C. Florian.
