Arthur Follows

Arthur Follows, 54, of Columbus Avenue, Niantic, died at his home Wednesday. He was born in Waterford, March 13, 1896, a son of William Follows and the late Elizabeth A. Wright Follows and had lived in Niantic 25 years. He was a member of Bayview Lodge, AF and AM, of Niantic and was a veteran of World War I. He was the owner of a plumbing, heating and steamfitting business in Niantic. Besides his father of Center Groton, he leaves his wife Mrs. Adelaide Payne Follows; a daughter, Mrs. George W. Miller of Niantic; three brothers, William Follows and Ernest Follows, both of Niantic, and John Follows of Minneapolis; three sisters, Mrs. Glenville Goss of Niantic, Mrs. Frank Burgess of New London, and Mrs. Edward MacDonald of Hartford; a grand-daughter and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Alderson-Prentis Funeral Home, New London. Burial will be in Head of the River Cemetery, East Lyme.

Don't know if the following is any help.
Have you by any remote chance come across a Percy Samuel Follows born 27th April 1890 Stafford, married Harriet Lucy Hall born 1886 Stafford.
They married at St Thomas Church,CastleTown, Stafford on 10th May 1913.

My great great grandfather was Joesph Follows brother to your John Follows.
However Joesph later changed his and his wife's surname to Fellows once the children were born and they had moved to Birmingham from Bristol.

We have kept the name as Fellows as we didn't know any different until I began tracing the tree - my Mum being a Fellows at birth.

My FOLLOWS were mostly hatters from Lancs in Denton, also Birmingham. G.G.Grandfather John b. 1838 Bristol; G.Grandfather Robert b. 1865 Birmingham; etc. Do you have more info.

My grandmother was Annie FOLLOWS, born Boston, Lincolnshire. Her father was Charles William Eaglesfield FOLLOWS, born Leicester, 1848. His father was Charles FOLLOWS born Portsmouth, Hampshire 1804.

My husbands grandfather was Percy Samuel Follows born 27th April 1890 at Stafford, however he disappeared when his son Austin William Follows was two years old. Dispite many attempts to discover what happened to him we only have rumour or speculation. If any one can give us any clues, it would be most appreciated.
