Hello all: looking for mother/father info on family member Elizabeth Ford. We have quite a bit on her but can't find anything on her mother or father. She is my dad's grandmother. This is what we know:

-) born 19 Apr 1861 in England
-) died 19 Sep 1939 in Streator, IL.
-) married John William Glen on 21 May 1896.
-) one son while in England, John William Edward Glen in 1898
-) immigrated to US in 1899.
-) son James was born 1902 in Streator, IL.
-) name spelled Glenn in US.
-) her father was William Ford

I just noticed this old post and thought I would like to connect with you. I am a Ford a direct descendant of John Gordon Ford, his brother James Gordon Ford was my GGG Grandfather. I am sure by now you have had your questions answered by I thought I would still make contact. My fathers brother was also a John Gordon Ford and he died in France in world war 1.

I am trying to trace my Anderson line. The James Anderson in question moved from the Mount Olive area of Knox County to the Middlesettlements area of Blount County, TN.

The Peter Jacob Fore/Faure attribution in my research isn't from any deep knowledge or conviction on my part but clearly there are problems IF we try to connect my line of Fords, John (1722-83), Tandy,(not Tandy Lewis although he is related to me because DNA testing proves this), going back to probably a William or Thomas, or even Wm. Thomas who lived in the areas in Viginia mine did, beginning at Goochland, then Albermarle, Fluvanna counties. We are working through DNA testing plus deeds, land records, other court documents, etc.
We are also connected to the Ford referred to as Rev. Reuben Ford but he isn't my direct line but definitely tests show he is "one of ours!"...
If we are connected in any way bloodwise to what I call the French Fords, or Faures of Manakin towne, then its back 15 to 17 generations, too too far away in bloodlines.

I am searching for information about my great-grandfather Ben Ford. His place of birth (and date) is unknown and his place of death (and date is unknown). I am trying to confirm the name of his wife and I am seeking to find out if Ben Ford had any brothers or sisters. Some known facts that are known that might assist are as follows:

Ben had five childred:
Solomon Ford (my grandfather) an African American of light complexion born in Russellville, Alabama in 1895, and died in Detroit, Michigan in 1929. According to Solomon’s marriage record (marriage to Willie B. Hogan Smith on March 27, 1922 in Detroit, Michigan), Solomon’s father is listed only as Ben and his mother was listed as Mattie Nick.

Ellen Ford, an African American born in Alabama in1890 (possibly Tuscumbia, Alabama, where she resided in 1910). Her race is listed as Mulatto on the census. She eventually married (possibly John Johns or John Jones) and migrated to Detroit, Michigan in the 1920’s.

Joseph Ford, an African American born in Alabama in 1895 (possibly in Tuscumbia, Alabama). He eventually migrated to Detroit, Michigan in the 1920’s.

David Ford, an African American born in Alabama about 1891. He moved to the Chicago area and is believed to have joined the Nation of Islam and changed his name to David Farad.

Susan Ford, an African American born in Alabama about 1887.

Additional notes: some of the listed brothers/sisters are listed as Mulatto on the census. The mother has been identified as Patsy but the census lists her last name as Fort. It appears that it could have been a misinterpretation of the census writing.

Seeking infomation on Daniel Ford, a farmer, c. 1830+. He may have farmed either in Wiltshire or Gloucestershire. Daniel had a son called John who was b. either in Wiltshire or Gloucestershire c 1834. John was a Tailor by trade, and worked in Stroud, Glos: where he married in 1862. He died in Trowbridge Wilts in 1871.

No those are not her parents, but we only found out the answer three days ago when Cora's brother's suitcase came out of an attack. They were Louisa Anderson Dunawain Ford and Walter Ford.

I think that John is buried at the St. Joseph Cemetery in Brownsburg, Hendricks County, Indiana. Most of mine were around Pope County, Arkansas until about 1890 when they started moving into Oklahoma, and further south. Look at the census and see if you connect.

My Ford family moved to Pope County, Arkansas around 1850 before they moved to Mena Arkansas, Oklahoma, then Texas. I have a James Ford born abt 1890 that I can't find any more info about other than name and birth.

My Grandmother was Emma Lucy Ford b.31July 1898 d. 16April 1986 married a Artemus Lewis Doane Sr. in 1915. They were from that area. Any information about her ancestry would be great.
