Hello,

I can't really help you with any information regarding Elizabeth Ford, but as far as George Ford is concerned I can be of a little help.

What I know from my own line is this, two lines of Fords came out of KY. They were Lisby Ford and Malichai(sp) Price Ford. Lisby was my 3rd great grandfather. If you can find information on those two lines I'm sure you'll find what you're looking for.

I hope this was of some help to you.

-Sarah Ford

My grt-grt-grandmother, Mary Ann (Ford) Truel's death certificate states that her father was Geo. Ford and her mother was Elizabeth Chaney, b. Kentucky. Other records show that Mary Ann Ford's parents (George W. Ford's family) lived in Pulaski Co., KY and that Mary Ann's mother probably died there before 1850.

I would appreciate any information on Elizabeth Chaney, her marriage to George W. Ford and her parents names.

Thank you.

Oklahoma Ford was my great grandfather, and my father has listed the other siblings of Oklahoma but he had little information on them other than names. Their names are; Wealthy Ford, Hattie Ford, Beadie Ford, Houston Ford, Amon Ford, Mary Ford, Effie Ford, and Floy Ford. If anyone has information on Oklahoma's siblings and their offspring, I would greatly appreciate whatever you have!
On a side note, I'm also looking for information on Alexander Ford's offspring as well; again my father only listed the one from our direct line which was Lisby and when it came down to doing Lisby he only listed Benjamen. So really I'm looking for information on the other lines.

Thank you. :D

But all the same if you would like any information, my email address is; googoo48@hotmail.com
I know only a little about my line, to be honest. As I said when my father did our tree he didn't go into great detail so I only have at this point names and next to no offspring, except the ones in our direct line.

Thanks Rudy,

That info helps. After his wife's father died in 1972, her mother (actually step-mother I believe) moved to Salt Lake City to live with the family. Her name was Stella. Not sure if you knew her.

She died in 1991 and was buried at Elysian Burial Gardens, Salt Lake City, Utah.

Do you know if his wife Francine was buried in Salt Lake or about when she died?

I never thought I get a hit on this post.
Reba, just saw these older posts on your FORD. Are you the Reba I once communicated w/whose FORDs end up in Northern or Eastern part of AR. in Stone County? Just wondering.
I am interested in your William Ford, born in 1793-98 and want to know if he is the SAME William listed as living in the adjoining county of Bledsoe (next to Rhea) in 1830 or 1840 census? If so, I've long thought this William (there is also a Joseph) FORD could be connected to my John FORD, Sr. (born 1762-1844) who lived in Bledsoe, later named Cumberland County in TN.
The William FORD listed in Rhea in 1850 census and married to Elizabeth, is my g-g-g uncle and he married Elizabeth BINGHAM. They later move to Benton County AR. where his father and siblings live.
Glynda FORD Ellman

Hi

I was a friend of Fred Ford for all the time he lived in Salt Lake. I first met him because he was an amateur radio operator and I had just earned my novice class ticket. He had moved into the house next door to me on Belmont Avenue.

His wife's first name was Francine.

After his wife died he moved back to Tennesee, his birthplace.

Sorry, I don't know anything current about his son but i knew him when he came home from the military. He had sustained some serious injury to his cheek and skull from a 50 cal. bullet from the ground in Viet Nam. He was a waist gunner on a Cobra helicopter at the time.

Hope that helps.

Sincerely,
Rudy Hausdorf

I have also been researching the FORD surname from Alabama. My grandmother told me that her mother's name was Maggie Ford, and Maggie's mother was Jane Ford, born before emancipation in Alabama. Any other information is unclear, but Maggie had at least one sister named Elizabeth. I believe I found Maggie in Warrior Stand, Macon, AL, in 1880, with her father, James Ford. Even though he was listed as "married", there was no wife in the household. Maggie shows up again in Caddo, Arkansas in 1920, with my grandmother and 2 of my granduncles. For some reason, I thought that my FORDs came from Perry County in AL.

I'm familiar with the Venus Ford story only thru a phenomenal documentary on PBS a few months ago. Check out Linda Allen Ford's website, which has a plethera of info, including her Family Tree. It's http://westfordlegacy.com/home.htm.

My 4th cousin & I are looking for Josephine Burton Ford who was born abt. 1875 in Mississippi. She married Rev. James Ford, April 17, 1894. He was born abt. 1853 also in Mississippi. We know for sure that Josephine existed, but don't have proof of exactly where 7 how.
If you are referring to Simeon Ford (b.abt. 1745 d.1833 Hogans Creek Caswell Co, NC), I think I can help. This Simeon also had a son named John N.Ford. My father is a direct descendant of John, and therefore Simeon & Winifred.

His Uncle and grandfather were from Harlem.

I am interested in this line also can you tell me if they ended up in Marshall co, Kentucky. I have her father as Absalom and Mary Elizabeth. And a Josiah b. 1835 marrying Katherine Peck, and Josiah adopting Katherine's child George Washington could this be part of the line that you speak of.
Linda

POW/MIA Korean War

I am searching for the family of a soldier who was killed in the Korea War. When he entered service he gave Denver Counrt, Colorado as his home of record. His remains were never recovered. Our government has no family contact at this time for this soldier

Soldier: DONALD RAY FORD
Born: 1927
Date of loss: August 27, 1951 MIA

When the Korean War ended the enemy never returned or accounted for over 8,000 of our servicemen. They died in their hands. That was over 50 years ago. Since that time DNA has been perfected and also they are recovering remains in North Korea. Our government is obligated to return those remains to the proper family. DNA samples have been obtained from most of the families of these missing soldiers. For various reasons some families have not been located.

When the remains are recovered and identified they will be returned to the family for proper burial. I am just an old (79years) Combat Veteran out of the Korean War and thankful that I did return. I consider this a very noble cause and I hope that you can help in some way to find this family. For more information on the project you may go to http://www.jpac.pacom.mil/. My part in the program is to match up the lost families with the proper agency.

I will be grateful for any assistance in locating this family.

Harold Davis
40th Infantry Division
Korea ’52-‘53
910-791-2333
hgdavis@bellsouth.net
From there, they moved and lived in Cape Girardeau, Misouri.

My grandparents are Mattie and Willis. I went to school with the youngest son, Donald Ford. I don't believe my line is related to them.

Re: FORD: Cape Girardeau, Missouri

Do you know what county/town in Illinois your Fords were from, and what district/township in Cape Girardeau? Do you know when they died?

My Fords were also from Southern Illinois and then moved to the Cape.

I am still searching for my great-grandmother, Sarah Ellen (Ford) Reese, who was married to John Franklin Reese.

Sarah was born in Southern Illinois in 1844. She is with her husband and children in the 1880 census for Ridge Township, Union county, Illinois.

They moved up near Shawnee Township in North Cape Girardeau, where she died on 24 July, 1882. She died at Indian Creek, near Neeley's landing.

Sarah's brother was Joshua Lafayette Ford, born 20 Dec 1843, in Jackson County, Southern Illinois. Joshua was married to Sarah Ellen Isbell. After the Civil War, they moved to Shawnee Township, in Cape Girardeau, where Joshua died, 20 Jan 1905.

I know for sure that Sarah & Joshua were related to the line of Ford's who still operate the Ford Family Funeral Homes in the Cape. Those Fords are descended from the Chesley Ford family, of Cape Girardeau, but I have not
been able to make the connection to Sarah's parents among Chesley's brothers, uncles, cousins?

In the 1850 census for Cape, a couple of houses away from Chesley, a Joshua Ford, age 7, is living with Thompson Hill. Next door, in the household of Margry Hill, there is a Sarah Ford, age 60. If she was 6 instead of 60, they could have been my Sarah & Joshua.

Some of my Fords, who migrated from So. Illinois to Cape Girardeau, eventually ended up in Stoddard County, Missouri.

Looking forward to sharing with you.
Ray Reese, Spindazzled@aol.com
I am researching the Ford side of our family. My grandmother was Mattie Martha Ford, born in 1890 in Illinois. She was the only girl in a family of five siblings: Raymond, George, Jake, ?, ?. She married Willis Leonard Reed, born in 1885 in Illinois. Once they moved to Missouri, they lived in Cape Girardeau until they died.

Yet another Chesley Ford
Near the same age as the Chesley Ford WV > MO...is another Chesley Ford from my VA Ford family.

My Chesley B Ford, a few yrs older than the previously mentioned, Mine was born 1842 in Halifax Co VA to Bird and Louisa Ford; Chesley moved with his family to Alabama and became Sgt. Chesley B Ford in the 13th Alabama Inf. Co. I, he was present at the surrender at Appomatox, VA..then disappeared..LOL

I once had him confused with the other Chesley who was in Cape G. Missouri. I find a C B Ford in 1880 Kinney Co TX, but have no way of knowing if this is him. There is a curious record on ancestry.com. If anyone know more about this type of record, please advise.
"California State Roster 1909
Military and Government Sonoma Ca State home, pg 191, location- Eldridge.
Name: Chesley Ford"

I think it could be my Chesley as I know he was in the military.. But I do not find him anywhere in 1900 census. Thanks in advance.
Debbie Wood
