Vicki,
I believe we share the same. Vaclav and Petronella's son whos name Vaclav also was my great grandfather. I have pictures of their headstones and obituaries but can not find anything beyond these same 2. I have talked to some Forst's from the Czech Republic but he wasn't able to help me. I do thank him for all the checking he did. If there is anything of use from these books it would be of great assistance with all the searches I and several other family members have done.

Frost is actually an old Scandanavian first name that somehow became a surname and was a well used name in the northeast part of England due to the Viking invasions.

Flemish weavers had names that sounded French, Dutch, or German. Flanders was what is now a part of NE France and Belgium, and even part of Holland.

I have Frost in my surnames and located background on it from a book on English and Welsh surnames.

Unsure if this is the same Loehr family but here's a bit that I have.

Mary Snyder Loehr, and ancestor of mine, migrated from Germany to PA in 1820 and was burried at Union Hampton Cemetery in Indiana.

Her descendants include:
Claude Loehr (from PA) who married Vietta Jones
Vietta Jones' father is mysterious. His name was David Jones, but apparently his name by birth was different. He was a civil war soldier, and those records show his last name as "x". He was also from PA but moved to MI.

Vietta Jones and Claude Loehr have the following descendants:

Leonard Earl Loehr who married Margaret Selby and they had the following children:

Ruth Irene Loehr (who married Francis Charles Haines)
Dora Loehr
Gary Loehr
Judy Loehr
Shirley Loehr
Marilyn Loehr
Jeanie Loehr
Donnie Loehr
Gerald Loehr
Earl Loehr

Leonard Earl Loehr also had siblings, one of which has a son named

Raymond Loehr

If this sounds familiar, please e-mail me and I will link you to my tree.

I also have research coming from Raymond Loehr, which he has been doing since the 1960's so maybe some further information will come up.

While researching my Forst line in PA I came across a record in a book called Pennsylvania Marriages prior to 1790..Names of Persons for whom marriage licenses were issued.....It shows a John Forst m Hannah Williams 5 Dec 1769. This matches your date but not the state. If you haven't looked in PA, you might try looking there.

My Catherine Forst was born 1746 in Philadelphia. She is the only name I have so far. She and her 2nd husband, Mr. Dunbar, raised their 4 children in Bucks County. I've found many Forst's in Bucks County but haven't been able to make any connections. I'm trying to link her to Henrich Forst who came to Phila. in 1735 at age 19 and makes an appearance in Bucks county land records around 1744. It's the right time period. It's possible that we are linked, but I haven't any more info than Catherine presently.

I have records that indicate that John Forst married Catherine Klein in 1814. I believe this is John's second marriage because all the children were born between 1797 - 1812.
I have thought of the Hannah Williams scenario but it just doesn't match up. She would have had to be awfully young when they married. John M. was born in 1812. I'll share if you will.

I think that you will find John JUDD's wife was Frances/Francis "Franky" E. GANDER, daughter of George GANDER and Mary PINKLEY. Her sister, Nancy (Ann) GANDER married John's brother, William JUDD. Nancy died very young, after the birth of her only child, John in 1812. William remarried, and both brothers were in Stark Co., OH.

I would love to know as much as possible on this branch of the family.
Forst

Hello, I guess I have overlooked this web site for awhile. My maiden name is Forst. My descendent is Samuel Forst born 8 Aug 1825, Stark County, Ohio. I believe David Forst is his father. I have found a couple of George's and David's that it is very confusing. But I also think he had a brother George. Could this be two Forst families traveling together? George (brother) and David (father) traveled to Huntington County Indiana in the late-1850's and Samuel came later in the early 1860's going thru Crawford County, Ohio and then to Huntington County. Based on land records in Huntington, Indiana David, George, and Samuel bought and sold land to each other. Court records are missing from the courthouse to prove a definite connection, in my mind. Obits are not available on Samuel who died in 1888 and buried in Whitley County, Indiana, next -door to Huntington County.
I would like to share information and maybe we can piece together a match.

David was one of 5 children all born in Iowa. My grandfather Ruben Forst was a brother to David.I don't have any information on Joseph as yet.
I also have been neglecting the message boards. I have found what I believe to be two brothers who came over from Germany in the ship records. May 27'1735 Hennrich Forst age unknown and Hendryk Forst took oath of loyality to the government at Philadelphia Pa.Hendryk was listed as age 17. I feel this was about the time frame that my family lineage started in America. So far I can't locate any census with thier names. We do know our family entered Pennsylvania and then to Starke County Ohio and to Indiana and settled in Wabash County. My g-grandfather was a brck mason and built several homes in the northern part of Wabash County. G-grandfather George had 9 children; David.Sarah Eliza William Ruben (my grandfather) Lydia Cordelia Franklin Amanda. Our David Forst moved to Iowa and enlisted in he civil war.Other than my grandfather I don't know to much more of the family except they stayed in the area.I do have who they all married and thier children. I feel these two ( ?) brothers are the start of the Forst's in Amrica and hope to some time verify it.In many ship records I have found no other Forst.Perhaps we could get together with our info and solve this puzzle that has bugged me for a long time.

An Grandpa Ruben and Grandma are at Wabash Kessler Corner. We have no known living realatves so it makes it a real challenge to search for family ties. I live in the Warren area so it sounds like we are not terribly far away from you. There was a genyleman at the Warren Methodist home who's mane was forst and he had to be related because he looked exactly like my Uncle Lawrence Forst. Was frightening because my uncle had jut passed away. Tis gentleman has since passed away also.Maybe if I keep searching I will find out I have lots of relatives. Good luck on your venture to Huntington.Ruth

Will try this again. lost it first time. George Forst and wife are buried in Long cemetry north of Wabash, just ehere I do not know. We tried to find it once -no luck but probally library or courthouse should have that info. The paper I have said to count from the row back to row 16 Forst on the stone George died Dec.2 1888 age 88 and Mother Nov.21 1888 age 74. My grandfather Ruben and his first wife are t Kessler Corner south of Wabash on highway 124 west of highway 15 and maybe 13. Going west it is on right side. The stone is an upright about 3 feet tall I think near center of cemetry. Always need to hunt for it when I go down.Dad always tried to keep grave nice but he has been gone15 years.
Anne Thecla Forst

Hello, I am looking for any information regarding Anne and Thecla Forst. Their sister was my grandmother Margaret Josephine Forst Luterick. Both Ann and Thecla became nuns in the Catholic church. Their mother Juliana Forst died when they were young, and I believe Anne and Thecla went to live in an orphanage before becoming nuns. Please contact me if you know anything about Anne and Thecla. Thank you, Sarah
