Hello all fellow members looking for the Fortunatos. I am searching for my fathers family- he passed in 1999 and never spoke much about them. His name was Gino Antonio Fortunato (born 12/15/1928), had a older brother named Joe (Guiseppe) and an older sister named Maria (Mary). Parents named Mary Rapasoto (maiden name) and Nicholas Fortunato. I don't know much else, and keep hitting walls when trying to find out info. He was born in Los Angeles, but his parents immigrated here from Italy, and I don't know where the siblings were born.

Emil is pictured in the Cadet, yearbook of the 43-J class of the Harman Flying Center at Bruce Field in Ballinger, Texas. He is a flight cadet. I'm not kin but thought this might help some researching the family.

Feb. 17, 1932 (CAPS and {} added): "Wednesday... over 350 relatives and friends ...silver wedding anniversary of Mr. & Mrs. Delfino NENNI of 143 East State Street. Mr. Nenni, one of a large family, came to this country in 1900 and spent seven years in Fancher {Town of Murray, Orleans County, sandstone quarry area} where he worked as a paving cutter. He then returned to his home town of Alfedena {Italy} for his marriage to Nunziatina FORTUNATO. Mr. and Mrs. Nenni left immediately for this country and went to Fancher to make their home. There they lived for 12 years and since that time have made their home in Albion...surprise...arrival of Mr. and Louis RICCI, sister and brother-in-law of Mr. Nenni and family and his nephew, Adam Nenni, all of Portchester. Two who attended the ceremony in Alfedena were at the dinner. They were Erminia Nenni, mother of Delfino Nenni and Iunocenzo VALENTINE of Fancher, cousin of Mr. Nenni...Music was provided by Joseph Donatelli's orchestra...Albion Lodge of Foresters of which Mr. Nenni is a member...Ten children have been born...eight of whom are still living and were present at the ceremony. They were: Jessie, Tomasino, Tussello, Gustavo, Zella, Chester, Elmer and Delfino, Jr."

Our Grandfather Antonio Nappi was born 1883/5 just outside Naples arrived in England approx 1899...and lived in West Ham London, is this the same Antonio Nappi? We believe his father was Michael (Giovanni) a farm labourer...Antonio also had a club foot..my email is janice.nash@hotmail.com

My name is Robert Fortunato and I live in Rhode Island (USA).
My grandfather's name was Serafino Fortunato and his family was from Puglia.
His siblings were Josephine, Antonette, Frank and Benny.

Maybe we are related?

DoD Identifies Army Casualties

The Department of Defense announced today the death of three soldiers who were supporting Operation Enduring Freedom. They died Oct. 14 in Qazi Bandeh, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when their vehicle encountered an improvised explosive device. They were assigned to the 1st Battalion, 26th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Hood, Texas.

Im not Joe but I am a cutenese who was married to a chuck cutenese who grew up in PGH,PA Ross township and serviced in the army( korea) in the 50s. He lived at 569 Jacks Run road,the house is still there but the family has moved on. He had two brothers Vince and Carl. I am seeking information on a Donald FORTUNATO who was born abt. 1918. He married Catherine Gilligan. Donald died during World War II and is interred overseas (Italy) He received the Purple Heart Medal.
