My great-grandmother Roberta Kitchens lived with him on the campus after the Civil War. He was her uncle. Her mother was Nancy Foster and her father Robert Kitchens both from the area. If anyone has any information please contact me. Thanks
Hello. I don't know if we are related. But I am looking for Harvestons from Carroll County AR. I am looking for the first wife of John Harveston b. August 1868 Mo, USA. Her maiden name is suppose to be Moore. I don't know who their parents are. But John Harveston's parents were supposedly born in Kentucky. John H. Harveston is found in 1900 census remarried to Elisabeth Wagoner in Omega twp. ,Carrol County, AR. Children of John Harveston and unknown Moore are Elmer, Rufus, Virgil, Lafayette, and Pressia all born in Arkansas between 1881 and 1894. Are these in your family tree?

I'm trying to trace details about my GG-Grandfather Edward Foster 1845 - 1911.

I have his death certificate and second marriage certificate but cannot trace him anywhere before his second marriage in 1878.

Census records from 1881 onwards say that he was born in Romford Essex and I know from his marriage certificate that his father was called George and was a mariner.

Can anyone shed any light on where he was between his birth in 1845 and 1878 when he married Mary Ann Drum nee Lake?

You're kidding! I knew that Gary (dad) had one or two other sons. I hope this reaches you after all these years Jon. Your name sounds familiar too.
Is/was your mother's name Alberta? I came out to California (Placerville) in 1987/1988 and seen him but moved back to Missouri and haven't heard from him since one telephone call in the winter of 2001. I remember when my Uncle Frank passed away (I couldn't make it back to Cali).

I just mentioned in a post to Valerie....I googled Gary Wayne Foster a few minutes ago (quite often actually) and this site is what popped up

If you recieve this please respond
Cyndi
https://www.facebook.com/cyndi.dorton
Re: Fosters from Alma

Hello
I've just begun to research the Foster side for my husband. His 2nd great grandmother was a Catherine Jane Foster brn in abt 1833 in Donegal, Ireland. She was the d/o Charles Foster brn Ireland & died in Alma Possibly in the 1870's. Catherine's mother was Margaret Corrigan brn 1802 in Donegal died abt 1890's in Alma
Catherine married a John G Bennett brn Harvey Parish, NB Died in 1892. I think they married in 1855 in Alma. I have found the Foster's & Bennett's on various census for Alma. I would love to find when they arrived in New Brunswick & any possible details that go back further or surround their lives there.
One of their sons, Robert Wesley Bennett, brn 1858 in Alma, moved to the United States, in Maine shortly after the 1901 census. When they moved here, Robert, his wife & their children took his Mothers surname & was known as Robert W. Foster. For whatever reason, the Bennett name was never used by them again.
My husband is the great grandson of Roberts daughter Alice May Foster who was brn possibly in 1897 in Alma. Any information would be wonderful thank you!
I am related to Isaac Foster who married Mary Jackson b. 1639
There is some confusion as there was another Mary Jackson who had married Isaac's brother, William Foster at the same time. In our family history it reads that we are related to Mary Jackson sister of Elizabeth Howe of Salem Witch fame...but I traced my family back to Isaac Foster, married to MAry Jackson, but there is confusion, which brother married the Mary Jackson sister to Elizabeth Howe.
Michelle, I have always heard the Heard and Carroll County Fosters were related, but it has to be back in Virginia. William Sheppard Foster was the son of John Foster in Virginia. But with that name, John would be very hard to research. There are wills that show Philemon, William, and John's connection. Lots of folks are researching John and maybe something will come up. Unless you could go to that county in Virginia, which is off the coast, this would probably be difficult. You need a lot of the early records.

I would like more info. My Fosters are from Heard county, GA. I am looking for the father of John Foster, born about 1823 in Virginia. He was married to Martha G. He had a younger brother named William Foster born 1827.
Thanks,
Michelle Foster
