I don't have any info about Owen (Eugene) Foy, but I noticed some similiarities with your Foy Family.

My great great grandfather was a John Foy who married a Catherine Lowe? John and Catherine emigrated to Huron County, Ontario at some point. In Catherine's obit (she died in Michigan) it lists County Mayo as her birthplace.

Any connection?

I have drafted a family tree for the Foy family from Foxford. It is at:
http://www.peterspioneers.com/foyfee.htm#Foxford

Let me know if you can add to or correct the tree.

I have Foys from Derreennascooba, but one of my Foy distant cousins is married to a Foy from Foxford.

Peter Biggins

Hi,
My Mother was born in Foxford. Her Mother was Margaret Foy RIP, married Martin Maloney. My Mothers name is Martha Maloney and her cousin was Paderic RIP. She says she played with the Foys as well down at the little cottage. Margaret Foy had a brother named Martin who also married a Maggie (Hobin), I believe. My Mother came to live with the Gaughns in Chicago in 1956. So, my Grandmother was Margaret Foy.
Hope this helps! We may be related!

Sent to work a farm in Manitoba at 18 years old. I'm thinking he met Annie Foy in Ontario as an adult and moved to Montreal. Annie was born in 1871 County Down, N.
Thanks in part to this fabulous web site, I have found more of my Foy family in Co. Down, Kilkeel.

They had 6 children according to the records. James b. 1854, Patrick b. 1857, Francis b. 1859, Thomas b. 1864, and Annie b. 1871 (my grandmother).

There is a Margaret Foy but I cannot connect her to parents Patrick Foy and Mary Doran.

Annie obviously emigrated to Canada in 1883. Shouldn't there be passport records kept in Belfast?

I will donate to this considerable work in progress. Bravo.

Síochán leat
Bill

Hi, im currently looking for information on a Joseph foy or family. unfortunately the only information i have comes from my father and he is hazy at best. All i have to go on is that my grandfather, also called Joseph, was born around 1902 and that his father was called Joseph. My father also seems to think that he was an architect and they may have lived on a farm. Unfortunately thats all i have to go on, i have no idea who his wife was, where exactly they were from or any other family members. As you can see its almost an impossible search, but if there is anyone with even the slightest information please don't hesitate to contact me.

Erin Foy

You may not want a GEDCOM but I can print for you an ancestral chart that will not clutter your computer. One time I sent my entire GEDCOM to someone who passed it on to someone else. When that man learned he was dying, he put MY GEDCOM online, including my grandchilden and dates and places, and even made mistakes changing people's genders. I could not get it off because altho it was MY ancestry, I had not posted it. I was not happy. I do not send those any more. But I can send you a printout. My e-mail addr for you to send your postal addr is the addr above at gmail.com.

Samuel Foy and his wife Osie Wolverton are my 3rd great grandparents also. That makes us some kind of cousins, not sure just what degree. If I knew your line of descent, my PAF would figure it out.

I don't know what genealogy program you use, but my PAF would weed out extraneous material to just give you the ancestry of Osie Wolverton Foy. Several generations back of her is Alice Freeman, a proven descendant of William the Conqueror, but that would be too much trouble to give you without the targeted GEDCOM. Sorry. His wife is a proven descendant of Charlemagne. That means you and I are also. But too much trouble. Sorry.

If you are a descendant of my 3rd great grandparents, Samuel Foy (1751-1826) and Osila 'Osie' Wolverton (1777-1851), I would like to try to learn how you and I might be related.

I am interested mainly in ancestors for Samuel Foy and Osila Wolverton plus basic info on the immediate family of this couple. I think it would include too much extraneous material to bother trying to exchange GEDCOMs.

I would be interested to learn if you are a blood relative of this couple and how you and I might be related.

I would also like to learn if you are able to verify that William Foy, Jr. (1700-1760) was father of Samuel Foy (1751-1826) through the research you are planning in Salem MA. I received Foy info from Mary Hetzel in March 1998 and I find no correspondence from her since then. According to my data, if William was indeed Samuel's father, he would have been age 51 at Samuel's birth. I have no name or dates for William's wife.

That document helped me find find four of my great grand fathers in the area.

And no I can't prove William Foye Jr. is father of 1751 Samuel Foy, but I plan to visit Salem, MA and do some more research at the Peabody.

My mother's name was Osie Foy Daniels.

I have researched the family and have a copy of Wayne Hetzel's book on the family. There are many errors in his book. Wayne is now deceased. I have not been able to confirm that Samuel's father was William Foy. If you can't prove it, it is probably not true.

I have a list of all of the children of Samuel and Osie. I would be happy to correspond with anyone on this information.

Bernard, are you a descendant of Samuel Foy (1751-1826)? I am g-g-grandson of his daughter Mary 'Polly' Foy (1807-1895), born to his wife, 'Osie' Wolverton. Mary 'Polly' was wed to Alexander Sober and bore Alexander's 12 children from 1831 to ca. 1850. If convenient, I would appreciate receiving names and dates you have for siblings of Mary 'Polly' Sober.

I have Samuel's father listed as William Foy, Jr. (1700-1760) d. & bu. Salem MA. I do not have name of Samuel's mother, i.e. wife of Wm. Foy Jr. Do you have her name?

I show Wm. Foy, Jr. as age 51 at date his son Samuel was born. Are you able to confirm this?

If you are descended from Samuel Foy or Wm. Foy, Jr. or Wm. Foy Sr., I would like to correspond with you at greater length via regular E-mail. Can you access my profile on Facebook?

My name is Bernard Foy. I visited Northumberlando County, PA in 2004 and found Samuel Foy and Osila, Osie, Osceola, Mary Osila Wolverton. They are buried together in at the old stone church in Augustaville or more likely called Zion Luthern and Reformed Church. We attended a service there on July 4, 2004. Samuel and Osila had 8 or 9 children. Most of which I can identify and provide , what I believe to be credible sources. Mary Polly married Alexander Sober. You likely know that. I have actually been to her gravesite. Look forward to hearing from you.

I have a Earl Daniel Foy in my family tree. He was the son of Daniel Foy, my great-grandfather's brother. The family was originally from Perth Ontario. Daniel moved to Manitoba where he married a widow Mary Elizabeth McRae (nee Barr) in 1909 and lived at or near Starbuck Manitoba initially. Mary had four children from her first marriage and she and Daniel had two sons Earl Daniel (born 1910) and Leonard Wesley (born 1911 or 1912) that I know of. Is this your Earl Daniel Foy ?

Regards Lydia Foy

Hi Barbara, this must be my grandmother Annie's (nee Foy) cousin William Foy. His brother was Joseph James. Their father was Joseph Henry (1863-1941) who was first a GPO clerk, then supervisor. Son Joseph may have also worked for the GPO over here. He emigrated to Canada, but it looks as though he immediately had to go and fight in WW1 as he's on the list of 'Canada - soldiers of the First World War' as from Saskatchewan. In this entry a Fanny Louise Foy is mentioned; I'm not sure why as this was his stepmother. Unless she was his Next of Kin. Joseph was the fourth and youngest child, siblings Laura, Beatrice and Edith,
from his father's first marriage, and there were 4 more from his second; Florence (Flora) Francis, William and Eileen. I would love to hear from you and we could exchange further information. Cousin Alfred was my Nan's youngest brother, he became a Mountie!
Hope to hear from you, best wishes, Sue.

Re Joseph James Foy was born 14/3/1892 in Walworth, Surrey (S.London)Father was Joseph Henry Foy, born City of London 1863 of Irish parents (Michael and Ann Foy) Michael was a City policeman. Joseph Jnr's mother was Joseph Henry's first wife, Laura Gater. She died in 1895 and Joseph Snr married Fanny Loates in 1897. Children of marriage with Laura were Laura, Beatrice, Edith and Joseph. Children of second marriage were Flora, Francis, William, and Eileen. They ended up in Ilford, Essex, where Joseph Snr died in 1941. Joseph James went to Canada and fought in WW1. I'm not sure exactly where he went later, our family story is that he ended up in California and that sister Flora also followed him either to Canada or the USA. His death may have been in Vancouver in 1973. The cousin Alf Foy that is mentioned was my grandmother's youngest brother Alfred Ernest Foy, who also emigrated to Canada and later joined the RCMP. Joseph Foy Snr was the younger brother of my Great Grandfather, Michael Francis Foy. I would love to hear from anyone with further knowledge of the Foys in Canada (or USA) as it does sound like the same family to me!
I have them in my Ancestry Tree.
Sue

Despite what most of you might think my dad Harlan Foy meant the world to me. There are definitely two sides to a story and unfortunately only one of those sides will never be told. My father was not a bad or mean man just looks like he had a lot of skeletons in his closet. Which i know we all have some. Your moms at one point saw something they loved in dad, that is why you are here, so he obviously wasn't all bad. I have a lot of stories that i would love to share with you and have most his history if your interested. I'm not interested in speaking with anyone that wants to speak ill words about dad.
melinafoy@hotmail.com

Just to correct a little information dad's dad was named Morris Foy and was married to Juanita Van Horn.
