I have plot records for Green-wood Cemetery, Brooklyn, NY, which show a Frank M. Foye buried 8 Jul 1898. I am trying to find out how Mr. Foye is connected to the others buried there. Other surnames include: Clayton, Outcalt, Douglass, Murphy, Johnson, Ruden, Spader, Young, Youngs.

A Foye Mystery

Solloda M. Foye (1831-1897), oldest son of William and Jane Miller Foye (of Ohio), was, I assumed, a bachelor farmer until he is listed in the 1895 Kansas state census, in McPherson County, as having, evidently, a wife listed as A.V.T. Foye - a 55 year old white female born in Ohio, living with him. No mention of her in his May 13, 1897 Ohio obituary, and she disappears from subsequent census records. Does anyone know who she might have been - is she in a McPherson County cemetery? Or, might she have been a live-in "friend" who was politely listed with his last name?

My husband is related to the Catherine McFarland who married Henry Foye. Her sister Ellen McFarlane married John McGushin and lived in San Francisco. We know their parents to be Patrick McFarlane (or McFarland or McPartland, depending on when you look). In Catherine Foye's obituary, it has County Leitrim as her place of birth, but Ellen is said to be from County Roscommon, so there is some discrepancy. Catherine and Ellen have two brothers, Hugh and John and we think John was also in the San Francisco area.

I am looking for any information on Dorothy Cecelia (Pinnick) Foye, born September 15, 1917 in Manchester, Delaware County, Iowa and died September 23, 1982 in Des Moines, Polk County, Iowa, and is buried in Manchester, Delaware County, Iowa. She 1st married, Earl Franklin Roberts (who was my uncle) in 1941 in Des Moines, Polk County, Iowa. She 2nd married Richard William Foye sometime after June 1942. Wllm Foye Sr. father is Captain John Foy(e) of Guernsey Island(or other Channnel Island) or Scotland. His father is stated only as Mr. Foy born 1588.

As you see, my name is Foye. It is a Huguenot name. My ancestors came from France and settled in N. Ireland (Waringstown, Co Down ) to work in the linen industry. The name has no connections with the name O'Faich. I was always told that the 'e' of Foye denoted that we were Protestants but over time the other Foys sometines added an 'e'. Did you have any luck with your search?

Have you checked out the information in the Nantucket Vital Records? I had a set of microfiches here in town through the interlibrary loan, and spent about five hours going thru births, marriages, deaths, and comparing all of them - had LOTS of good information. News comes from San Fancisco of the death yesterday f Mrs. Alice M. Foye.
Mrs. Foue was one of the old time residents of San Francisco, her husband being a member of the firm of Huntington, Hopkins and Company.She was well known in Sacramento business as well as social circles and owned considerable property here- among such being the Metropolitan Theatre on K Street, between Fourth and Fifth, and The Metropolitan Building on the northwest corner of 5th and K.
She was a native of Sydney, Austrailia, and was the aunt of Mrs. W.K. Cothrin and Mrs. E.A. Crouch of this city.
The interment will be private, but friends are invited to attend the funderal services in San Fransico next Tuesday at 1:30 at Gray;s Chapel, Divisadero and Geary,

LeRoy Hyman Foye b. 1859 near Wheeling, WV, d. 1907 m. Mary Jane Moody b. abt. 1862, d. 1908, dau. of Richard Moody and Mary Gray. Both are buried in Garrett, PA.

Children of LeRoy and Mary Jane:
Edward Foye; Martha Foye m. William David Reed; Lee Foye b. 1886 m. Elsie (Unknown); Mabel Foye b. 1897 m. Albert Hoffman; George Dewey Foye b. 1898 m. Mary Roper in Lewiston, IL.

I have a 1880 Cambridge, MA census record of a Herbert William Foye, aged 9 which shows he was born in NY. Could be your William. He is the son of my widowed gg-grandfather and his second wife.

I am seeking information on Nathaniel W. Foye, b. around 1792 in NH or pre-state Maine. He is listed on an 1850 federal census page with another Nathaniel W. Foye, aged 20, and also Aurelia Foye, aged 48. They are listed in the same household, the older Nathaniel as "Farmer" and the younger as "Shoemaker." The younger is probably his son, the same Nathaniel W. Foye who married Joanna White of Halifax, MA. Joanna, b. 2/07/1826 in Halifax, d.12/21/1855 in Boston. Joanna died shortly after giving birth to their son William Henry (Foye) Manchester. William was adopted by Joanna's older sister Emily and Emily's husband Francis A. Manchester.

James M. Foye, b. ca 1858 in Vermont, married Anna N (b. 1860 in Eng. Canada, her parents were also from Ireland)

Grandchildren:

Eliza and Robert had two daughters, Myrtie Jane Eliza Morse, b. Aug 3, 1888, d. Nov 1969, and my great grandmother Marjorie Eliza Morse, b. May 11, 1890, d. 1954.

of Richard Moody Foye who lived in West Virginia before moving to Scranton, Penn sometime before 1910 where a son Richard William Foye was born to him and his wife Susan Maire Mitchell Foye (from England)

I know that Richard Moody Foye died in October 17, 1921 in Norris, Illionis of Black
lung. He was a barber in the last years of his life. Susan and Richard Moody had four
children. Richard William Foye 12/5/1910
born in either Scranton, Penn or Garrett, Penn. Also Frank LeRoy born Jan 21, 1913 in
