George Freeman & Sarah Ann Cogbill

I am trying to trace living people who come down from George Freeman (born 1848 in Honington, Warwickshire) and Sarah Ann Cogbill (born 1848 in Long Compton, Warwickshire). The couple married in near by Shipston on Stour on 10th October 1870. They remained in the area (it seems) for a little while and had a daughter in 1872 called Sarah Freeman. They then just seem to vannish. Sarah Ann Cogbill was a sister of my gt grandmother. I would love to hear from anyone out there. I suspect they might have moved abroad or something because several family members have failed (like me) to find any trace of them using UK records.

Hi would you know of a Michael Freeman or Carol Brown? I put a query in google some time back and got what I believe is a letter from Michael to Carol regarding Freeman's and mentions Jane marrying Henry Black. I have tried to find a contact to them but so far nothing.
Was hoping one or the other might know info on my Freeman Line

I know very little of the Freeman's that married the Black's
Mine seem to have went from Ireland to Philadelphia

You might want to verify that you have the right Catherine Anne Freeman. I looked at the tree with Stephen as her father, and from the trees I've seen they have marrying someone with the last name Lyons. I haven't been able to find the mention of a straley within any of the Freeman family trees I've seen. Or when I have, they don't have Catherines parents listed.

Pat, I don't know if this helps, may be a different line of Freeman's. Hugh Freeman.
Hugh Freeman had a son named James Freeman, and Charlie Freeman,there is also a Sonny Freeman, Daughter's of Hugh= Martha Freeman and Marsha Freeman.
Hugh also had a cousin {my Grandpa} Coleman Crowder Freeman.
They were all born in Tennessee,and Georgia, USA. But they all ended up living in North and South Carolina. Coleman married Dovie Easter Miller.Dovie was born in Tennessee.
Have you ever heard of any of these people? I have more info
on the Freeman's to share with anyone who, well, we may be able to help each other. Thanks

also I am looking for a Flenton Gilford Freeman who called Joe!
he was stationed as a GI in Augsburg/ Germany and went after this time again back after tennessee where his family lived.

He was married in Germany with my Grandma.
He has 2 sons, 1 daughter, 4 grandchilds and 1 grandgrandchild.

If my Flenton also your flenton, then you are the half- sister from my mother!!!

Does anyone have any information on the descendants of a Robert Freeman of Mill Loughan, Killdolagh and a Isabella Savage from Gills, Macosquin, married 1861 in Coleraine Registry Office. They had a son James in 1869. Robert's father was James Freeman (a weaver). I think Robert may have had a brother Daniel a shoemaker

Bashams Gap, Twp. 9, Range 6, Winston, AL, 1860, FREEMAN
Hezekiah, 23; Elizabeth, 23; Martha A., 7; James L., 5.

[Hezekiah must have been ca. 33+, since he was 23 in 1850, 45 in 1870, & 55 in 1880.]

I have a Georgia Mae Freeman in my tree. Her father Jesse Freeman and my gg grandfather George W Freeman were cousins. I believe this is your Georgia Freeman and I have a picture of her.

A lot of the family moved to Texas from Tallapoosa AL around 1870. Jesse's father was Clayburn Freeman, he passed away in AL, but I believe his mother Martha moved to Texas with them before Georgia was born.

Another thought is to go to Rootsweb.com. Here again, forgive me if you've already been down this road, too. On their home page, enter James Freeman, click, next page click world connect, next page scroll to the bottom & then enter where & when he was born & click search. I had 9 hits come up & they appear to be fairly well documented. When you click on a site, click either register or auhentafel & you might find more information. Also, most of the sites have the email address of the person who owns the site but always check to see when the site was updated. Let me know how things go...DLF

Hi there...I'm not sure if you've done this so forgive me if you've already been down this road. Google, in quotes, Holman Freeman or James Freeman or Claborne Freeman, then +wilkes co. or +georgia, +virginia or +alabama & you will find a bevy of information. There's the family tree along with the qualifications to join the DAR. I didn't look into the Civil War. Of course, you have to find the right family, I'll go check...if you'll google, "Holman Freeman"+wilkes co ga, then scroll down & look for Holman Freeman & right under his name is "bookofbowie", the whole family tree will pop up & it appears that everything is "clickable", so to speak. Google has become one of the leading places to search...who knew...& the above method of using google works in almost every situation, almost being the operative word. My Freemans were in Georgia. Son of Holman Freeman was James Freeman born 1749 VA. died 1818 Wilkes GA. Son of James Freeman was Claborne Freeman 1796 Georgia died about 1855 AL. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello again...Before I left the Library I quickly went to Anc.com & found the Bennetts in 1900, then in 1880 I found a William C. Bennett in Wayne Co. & your Willie Freeman in Lincoln Co. Do you know of any siblings for William C. or for Willie I.? Would she have gone by Ida Freeman? Here's my email address & send me the above if you have it. Thanks! I am looking for an ancestor of my stepmother. All I have is Willie Ida Freeman, b. April 1872. She married William Charlton Bennett around 1892 and they lived in Bibb County, Georgia. They had the following children: Otis (1894), William Horace (1896); Idus Cedric (1898); Hazel Griffin (1902); Charles Leroy (1903); Louise I (1906); Barney F. (1908). There is a Willie Freeman b. 1871 listed in the 1880 Census for Lincoln County. Do you think this is the Willie Freeman I am looking for, or do you know who she is?

My Grandmother was Ella May Freeman Carr
marriesd to Raymond J. Carr, Sr. Lived many years in Bucks County Pa. I remember Aunt Viola came to live with us for several months when I was around 10 years old. we lived in So. Jersey

Aunt Betty and Uncle Jim use to live in Cape May, NJ. I think they had two sons. Aunt Florence, my Mom remembers meeting them at grandmom's some time mid 50's. She thinks her family remained in Florida.

I think you may be the link I'm looking for. My great grandmother was Edna Freeman. She married Thomas P. Sparks and lived in St. Louis before they moved to Jackson, MS where they had a family and eventually both died. I'm having a terrible time finding any information about the family. Mrs. House was employed as an Executive Secretary at WPAFB and she as a devoted member of the Covenant United Methodist Church.
She was an active member of the United Methodist Women, Order of the Eastern Star # 1 and was a member and held offices in the Retirement Set.
Mrs. House was a Mary Kay Sales Representative, she enjoyed shopping. She enjoy spending time with her family, especially during every holiday.
She leaves to cherish her memory a son and daughter-in-law, David and Denise House; a daughter and son-in-law, RuBelle and Thomas Evans all of Springfield; a brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Dorothy Freeman; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruth and Rueben Chaney, Jewell and Paul Graham; a sister-in-law, Jeanne Hacker, 6 grandchildren, David (Kia) House Jr., Matthew and Aaron House, Caron Evans, Julie Moore and Alana Evans; 3 great grandchildren; special friends, Elizabeth Jones, Hattie Lawson and Flossie Gentry and a number of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Otho House; two brothers and sister-in-law, Robert Freeman Jr. and Georgianna Freeman and Nebosia Freeman.

Visitation for Mrs. House will be Friday, March 16, from 5-6 p.m. in her church. Eastern Star services will be at 6 p.m. Funeral services will follow at 6:30 p.m. in the Covenant United Methodist Church with Dr. Diane Turner-Sharazz, officiating.
Burial will be Saturday at 12 noon in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Funeral arrangements are by the Robert C. Henry Funeral Home.

Hi Gregg82_1, I am a born Freeman. My Father and other ancestors were born in Tennessee. My dad Archie Coleman Freeman had a Uncle named Hugh Freeman. Hugh's Father's name was Moses Freeman born in Georgia.

As soon as I saw you were in Alaska, I knew who you were. Your mother found me a few years ago through this board and was kind enough to send me some information.
Jasper, son of Elmer, son of William, son of John is my grandfather. I get stuck on John and his wife Sarah. John was born in NJ I think and Sarah was born in PA. I'm trying to locate Sarah's maiden name. Another researcher has posted ssome of the McMillan line on Ancestry. That has been helpful as well in tracing that line.
I haven't gotten around to posting a family tree on Ancestry yet, but I can helkp fill in a few areas on your if you like.
