Re: Do you know these people?

It has been many years since I made this post. In the years since I have discovered who they are. L-R Back Row: Horace Freestone b. 1823, Alice Freestone b. 1857, Hannah Ivison Freestone b. 1833, (on her knee) Anna Maria Freestone b. 1867, Thomas Ivison Freestone b. 1855, Mary Brown Ivison b. 1806, (on her knee) Frederick Spencer Freestone b. 1865, Front: Mary Ann Freestone b. 1863, Harry Freestone b. 1861. From the youngest child - Mary Ann Freestone we can date the picture from very late 1867 to early 1868. Hope this helps someone,

Irene Scase

Graham:
Hello, my significant other Brownie Jr.'s grandmother was Viola Freestone, daughter of Eleck Alexander Robert Freestone. Her mother I have been told was Willie Beck. maryadell and Brownie are cousins, we just found out.

Looking for information on the Freestone's as Viola's son, Brownie Sr. does not have much information. He had two brothers, Charlie & Melton, and one sister, Thelma, who is maryadell's mother.

Also interesting in locating Eleck Freestone's grave location at Fishtrap Cemetary in East Dallas, Texas. The cemetary is listed on his death certificate and the family member signed L. A. Freestone. I also would like to verify who this person is and obtain more information about Eleck.

I can be reached at evelynj6624@yahoo.com if anyone would like to contact me directly. This is awesome. Glad to find others interested in the Freestones.

Sincerely,
Evelyn

However, I don't have any more information on her so I don't know if she was born in Leicestershire.

Cheers, Roger

My father-in-law (Donald) would be your fathers cousin going by the information in the archives here in tasmania. Darryl's dad is well and alive at the age of 82 I think and living in Toowoomba. So that would make you a second cousin to my husband, we would love to recieve any information that you have on others and where they are. You dads other cousins from Tasman (Pop to Darryl) are Jack (dec) and Hazel still kicking along in Frankston. Darryl (my husband) is one of 5 though we lost Kerry 2 years ago so 4 still kicking on and Hazel has 5 who are all alive and well and Jack had 2 sons but one is dec.
Hope this all makes sense and my email address is darryl_freestone@yahoo.com.au if you have any information or would like to find out more.

Kind regards
Carol

My husbands family are from the John who married Mary who I believe was married previously. My husband is from Donald Freestone and his father was Tasman Freestone who if I can remember is one of the son's of Mary and John Freestone. I do know my father in law has only one sister alive in Melbourne and he lives in Toowoomba Queensland as for cousins ect god knows as they are slightly disjointed. My husband and I moved to Tasmania five years ago and I have been interested to find out about his family. I myself was born in Dorset and moved out here as a ten pound pom with my parents and am still a british subject as my husbands mother is anti british which I think is funny as John Freestone was a Pom also. I would love to know if you have any information on the family as in the English side.

Freestone Family In Canada

I have just taken an interest in researching our Freestone Family ancestry and would like to start with mentioning my Great Grandparents as Horace and Hannah Freestone, married Nov.9th, 1854 in Sheffield, England.... They had several children, with our Grandfather, Charles, being the youngest who was born in Spindleston, England, August 7th, 1877.

We (my Brother David and I) have one surviving Aunt, Dora Freestone (Bye) who will be celebrating her 100th Birthday at the end of february, 2010 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.

Dora is our Father (John Robert Freestone)'s older sister, with our Father being the youngest child of our Grandfather, Charles, son of Horace/Hannah.

We have benefited from learning a wealth of information from both my Aunt Dora, as well as a cousin who lives in the Southhampton area of England, Pat Horton, who has been incredibly helpful in filling in the family history.

If there are others either in Canada, England or as I understand Australia and New Zealand, who can trace their family lineage through the Horace/Hannah marraige,...we would really appreciate hearing from you...

Thank you for sharing your knowledge and interest...I would be only too happy to share what we have gained at this stage of having just begun exploring our heritage...

David and I live in North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

Brian (Brother David) Freestone

Good Morning;

Responding to your note of April 2007, I am very interested in learning more about the "Freestone" family tree as I have just begun to research our ancestry. I have a sense that my family history stems from the Suffolk/Norfolk area of England, as reference was made to those areas in materials that I have come across.

My Great Grandparents were Horace and Hannah Freestone, married in 1854 in Sheffield. My Grandfather was their youngest son, Charles born in 1877, born in Spindleston (?).

Hope that is of assistance and that we could enchange additional information.

In researching this website message board, it appears that most of the interest generated ion the Freestone name is stemming from either Australia or the United States, which I will research further once I have a better feel for the "roots" of the family....

Looking forward to hearing from you (or anyone for that matter who might have knowledge) before exploring the extended family in other parts of the world.

Brian Freestone

My Name is Brian Freestone, living in North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada....and my Brother David and I are the Great Grandsons of Horace & Hannah Freestone (married in Sheffield, Engalnd in 1854. Our Grandfather was Hannah and Horace's youngest son, Charles, born in August 1877. Our Father was John Robert Freestone, born September 1st, 19112 in Darlington, England.

We have one living relative of our father's family, his elder sister, Dora Freestone (Bye) who will be celebrating her 100 birthday at the end of February, 2010.

Through Aunt Dora and a distant cousin in England, I have been fortunate to have a wealth of family tree history.

I would very much appreciate hearing from other extended family members in Engalnd, Canada or throughoout the world (as I understand that we have a distant cousin living in Wellington, New Zealnad (Horace John Freestone).

Brian (Brother David) Freestone
