Hello Susan,
Rob and Ian,
Have just found this board - very interesting!
I am wondering, whether anyone has been able to trace our ancestors beyond Joseph

HANNAH LERRIGOE, b. Jan 15, 1737/38 in
Rowley Regis, Staffs,
England. He married (2) NANCY
SMALLWOOD Oct 25, 1759 in St
Martins,
Birmingham, Warws,
England.
Our relationship is through the John
Freeth who emigrated to Australia on the Lady
Nugent, married Sarah Eather (Heather) and died at Warkworth, NSW AUSTRALIA in 1859. He is my great, great grandfather. On his Ticket of Leave his name was changed to "
Frith". He used the name
Frith when he married Sarah Eather, so all issue from that date are known as "Friths", (is my maiden name). The ship record notes he had a family of 2, which suggests he married and had 2 children before he left
UK. We have details for all children from his marriage in Australia to Sarah Eather... but can find no records for him of any marriage or issue in
UK.
Perhaps one of you may have some info' on a possible marriage and children born in the
UK? He was tried in Nottinghamshire
Petty Sessions Court (listed as a shoemaker) before his deportation.
Most appreciative,
Penny Bell.
