Hello Val,
Thanks for your reply. Yes I think they were probably all related too.
My Robert Goullee (b.10/5/1841) had at least one brother, James (b.30/6/1838) and both were christened at St Matthias, Bethnel Green on 26/2/1843. Their parents were Joseph (a labourer) and Martha but I cannot find any further information on them. Robert Goullee was a cabinet maker, and he and his wife, Mary Anne Courtney (b.1841, Bethnal Green) had at least 4 children, Robert William, Alfred John, Eleanor Margaret and Emma. Alfred (b.9/4/1865), my great-grandfather immigrated to Australia and was a fireworks maker until his death in 1936 in Sunshine, Melbourne.
I have only identified one other Goullee family immigrating to Australia. A Charles Eugene Goullee immigrated from Bethnel Green to Bass in Tasmania about the same time as Alfred immigrated to Melbourne. Charles' son, Fredrick Goullee died in WWI without progeny. However he may have had a sister called Florence.
Pleased to supply any Australian input if this is at all helpful to you. Cheers - Carolyn.
