Friendly is from Germany. While searching for my grt grt grt grandfather William Friendly I found one person whose place of birth was Bremen.

Anyone interested in a copy of the U.S. Department of State's "Report of the Death of an American Citizen" for Mr. Edward Friendly, please contact me so I can conduct research to locate the record. Mr. Friendly died in Australia on September 24, 1921.

FRIENDLY, S. H., of Eugene, was born in New York City, December 6, 1840, and came to Oregon in 1865, locating in Eugene, where he has since resided and is engaged in merchandising. He has been a prominent Republican for a third of a century, and has frequently been a delegate to county and state conventions and to the league meetings. He was several times elected to the City Council, and in 1893 was elected Mayor. He is an active member of the Republican Club.

Found the answer to my own question! Came accross a Friendly in the death index at the library. His death certificate states Bremen, Germany was the place of birth.

Her mother, Elouise, was the sister of Gertrude, Carroll and Martha Ellen and granddaughter of W. Carroll of Conway, AR. Elouise's great grandfather was Jackson L. Carroll of Conway, AR.
