To E Duiker, My Uncle, J. Delbert Fulks, last visited my father Glover Fulks a few weeks before my father died during the summer of 1972. I was living in N.J at the time and unfortunately did not get to meet Delbert, however,my father mentioned Delbert often and seemed to be very fond of him. As I remember, Delbert was living in Yakima WA. My father and my Uncle Bill visited Uncle Delbert in the late 60's or 70.s in Yakima. Since I was living in another state at the time, I don't remember much about their trip. I can be reached in goodyear, AZ, at 970-739-0334. best wishes, Bill

Hi, I'm trying to figure out how my Fulks ancestors mesh with all those mentioned. My ggg grandfather David Fulks b 1824, married Elizabeth Caroline Laine b 1827. One of their children was nicknamed Babe, although his real name was Elias Louis Fulks, 1855-1951. One of his brothers was John Baxter Fulks, my gg grandfather. It is a very confusing family.

Is this the same "Uncle Babe" you mention, although the mothers seem different?
Shonna L.

There are so many Henry Fulks it must be a name handed down many generations. Henry Benjamin grandfathers name was Henry Jr and great grandfather is Henry Sr. That's 3 Henry's in 4 generations. As far as the Indian heritage we know Fulks came over from England so you have to look into the surnames of there wife's. I'm almost positive it's there just have to find it. Henry Benjamin my great grandfather married sarah southern in Indian territory Oklahoma my grandfather was born in Leflore Indian territory he married Mattie hollan in Leflore

Death place in Texas of John William Fulks ca 1900

I am trying to locate the place of death, and hopefully burial, of my 2nd great grandfather, John William Fulks (1865- ca 1900). He was 35 years old at his death. The family story says he and his wife, Cynthia Steele, left Caldwell/Ouachita parish LA in 1899-1900 with their 6 young children for a better life in Texas. The story says they went to San Antonio but I cannot find any family in that area during that time period. Both of John's siblings, Robert Lee Fulks and Mary Octavia Fulks Favors, lived in Wood county Texas in 1900. John and Cynthia were not in Texas more than 2 years, maybe not even one, when John died. Cynthia loaded the 6 children in a wagon and returned to Caldwell Parish LA. Robert Lee also lived in Hopkins County TX but moved back to Caldwell at the end of his short life, 39 years. Mary Octavia is buried in Commanche county TX. She died at 43 years old.

Any help would be appreciated.

James T Fulks of Choctaw county, MS would be the son of John C (possibly Craig) Fulks of VA and Nancy McAllister. Pauline J Baygents is the daughter of Moses Robert Baygents and his first wife Elizabeth. Let me know what you think.

Anna

I have limited information on this line.

The 1850 Arkansas census, Independence County, Washington Township, household 820, shows the following:

-	George Fulks, 47, farmer, born Tennessee
-	Sarah, 37, born Tennessee (age should say 47 or thereabouts)
-	Louisa, 26
-	Mary A., 18
-	Ira A., 16, farmer
-	James L., 14
-	Eteleva, male, 12 (this is Ptolemy)
-	Sarah A., 10
-	Harriet, 8
-	George W., 6
-	Margaret, 4
-	Charles M., 2
-	Malissa, 8/12

This George is the son of David Fulks, having migrated from Monroe County to Bradley County, Tennessee in 1840 (see 1830 census data for David Fulks), and then to Arkansas by 1850. Independence County is north and east of Little Rock, with Batesville as the county seat.

Immediately adjacent at household 821 is:

-	Elias Fulks, 37, farmer, born Tennessee
-	Martha (Grigsby) Fulks, 26, born Tennessee
-	Nancy A., 20 (child by Elias’ first wife)
-	Mary, 12
-	Sarah, 8
-	Catharine, 6
-	George, 2
-	James, 1

All children are shown as born in Tennessee. This is another son of David Fulks, who relocated after the death of his father and the sale of the Monroe County property in 1850.

It appears the Catherine you are seeking is the daughter of Elias.

I am interestsed in daughter Catherine Fulks b: 1847. This may be the 3rd wife of my ggg grandfather, William Marion Holland. We had thought it was the daughter of George Fulks, brother of Elias, but we've heard info on the contrary.

My Mother and I have been tracing the family back. She said she can only remember her Father talking about visiting Uncle "Babe" and that his Mother was called "Mattie" but her name was Martha J. Chitwood. My Aunt is named after her. I have an old photo of her. You can contact me if you are interested in sharing information.

Joshua B. Fulks died 1819 Russell Co., VA - father of Obediah?

Does anyone have any information on this Joshua B. Fulks who died 1819 in Russell Co., VA - part of his estate goes to Obediah Fulks and part of his estate goes to Abednigo White. Evidently, Joshua owes Daniel Horton some money because he (Daniel Horton) places an attachment on the estate, trying to prevent Obediah and Abednigo from collecting their part of the estate.
I've heard similar rumblings about a possible bit of Indian heritage but have never been able to prove it one way or the other.
Zella was my (maternal) grandfather's sister and since she died when I was less than a year old, I never knew her.
I've gotten hung up at Jacob Foulks.
If there is an Indian connection I suspect it could be via 'Miss Gallatin'. She was the grandmother of your Zella and My David Elmer. It appears that Miss Gallatin and Daniel Foulks were never married and her history is a mystery.
I hope some of the following helps.

Stan

1 - Husband: Jacob Foulks
Born: 1775 in: Pennsylvania
Married: in:
Died: Aug 1850 in: Richland Ohio
Burial:
Father:
Mother:
Other Spouses:
Wife: Mary Wells
Born: in: 1844 in: TX, USA
Died: in:
Burial:
Father: Peter Wells
Mother: Nancy Simons
Other Spouses:
CHILDREN
1 Name: Daniel Foulks
Born: in:
Died: in:
Burial:
Married: in:
Spouse: Miss Gallatin
M
2 - Husband: Daniel Foulks
Born: in:
Married: in:
Died: in:
Burial:
Father: Jacob Foulks
Mother: Mary Wells
Other Spouses:
Wife: Miss Gallatin
Born: 25 Apr 1823 in:
Died: in:
Burial:
Father:
Mother:
Other Spouses:
CHILDREN
1 Name: William Fulks
Born: 14 Oct 1851 in: Ohio
Died: 13 Aug 1917 in: Waldron, Michigan USA
Burial:
Married: in:
Spouse: Louisa Lyons
M

2 Name: James GALENTINE
Born: 1853 in:
Married: in:
Died: in:
Burial:
Spouse:

3 - Husband: William Fulks
Born: 14 Oct 1851 in: Ohio
Married: in:
Died: 13 Aug 1917 in: Waldron, Michigan USA
Burial:
Father: Daniel Foulks
Mother: Miss Gallatin
Other Spouses:
Wife: Louisa Lyons
Born: Abt. 1850 in: Ohio
Died: in:
Burial:
Father: David Lyons
Mother: Susan Pickings
Other Spouses:
CHILDREN
1 Name: Susan Zella Fulks
Born: 25 Dec 1875 in: Alvordton, Williams Co. , Ohio
Married: in:
Died: 1936 in: Medina, Michigan USA
Burial:
Spouse:
F

2 Name: George Henry Fulks
Born: 23 Jan 1878 in: Alvordton, Williams Co. , Ohio
Married: in:
Died: 06 Dec 1957 in: Hillsdale, Michigan USA
Burial:
Spouse:
M

3 Name: James Arthur Fulks
Born: 12 Dec 1879 in:
Married: in:
Died: in:
Burial:
Spouse:
M

4 Name: David Elmer Fulks (My grandfather)
Born: 05 Dec 1883 in: Alvordton, Williams Co. , Ohio
Died: 08 Oct 1959 in: Ludington Michigan ???
Burial: 11 Oct 1959 in: Alvordton, Williams Co. , Ohio
Married: 28 May 1904 in:
Spouse: Lottie Pearl Ries
M

5 Name: Charles Ellsworth Fulks
Born: 12 Nov 1886 in: Alvordton, Williams Co. , Ohio
Married: in:
Died: in: Ostego, Michigan USA
Burial:
Spouse:
M
Mary Clemantine FULKS m. George W MCGEE (1875 Lyon County KY)

I have hit a brick wall in tracing my ggrandfather, George W MCGEE (b. bef 1859 TN), so I thought I would try the "back door" by querying members who are researching the FULKS family in KY. My ggrandmother, Mary Clemantine FULKS (b. 1859 Lyon County KY) is the daughter of Noah C FULKS and Rachel NICKELL. If anyone has information regarding George and Mary, please contact me.

I just came across your message. I believe Capurnia is my Great Great Grandmother. Do you have any information on her son Charles? He was my grandmother's father. Do you still need information on Charles Fulks? If so, I will see what I have. My email address is dfuchs@tower1int.com

Thank you for your help.

Debby

Re: Parents of Mary Octavia Fulks - Missippi/Louisiana

Thank you for replying to my message. I had decided that no
one still cared about these relatives but me. I don't believe the link with James and Elizabeth works because
1. John, Mary and Robert's father was born in Missippi and their mother in Louisiana
2. In the 1870 Census listing James and Elizabeth, a John who was much older than your John would have been was listed and Mary who would have been 1 year old was not listed at all.
3. In the 1880 Census, Elizabeth was listed as living with some of her older children, a nephew and neices, but John, Mary and Robert were living with the cousin. That doesn't make sense to me.
It was great to hear from you and it looks like we are related. We'll keep trying and hope to hear from you again.
Bevelyn

Am I happy to here from you?!!!! I am working on the exact same problem. My gggrandfather is John Marion Fulks and I believe he is Mary Octavia's brother. I have him with the Rogers in 1880 but in 1870 I find found him with James and Elizabeth Fulks with no relationship specified. And to really confuse things there is a John with the Birge Family in 1860. All of this takes place in Ouachita Parish.

Anna Bianchi
