I would like to know more about your family. If this is the orginal Gardea family in Chihuahua, Mexico. I have gone back to Ramon Gardea, my great gandfather, but don't know his father's name. He also used the surname of Raymond Garden. I want to know how our families are connected. I did my DNA and found out that the Gardea family are Scottish Finnish with other DNA. Look it up on House of names internet. I want to find the original Gardea that came from Scotland. Also have Italian and French. I have about five generations from my great grand mother Rosario Talamontes Gardea. They were from Jalisco, Mexico. Her father Pasqual Talamontes. My great grandfather was Guadalupe Gardea, father of my grandfather was Jose Gardea, my mother's (Maria Elena Gardea) dad of Chihuahua, Mexico. I understand that my great grandfather's name is engraved on 10th Street (Calle Decima) in Chihuahua. My grandmother (Ana Maria Vaquera) was a bridesmaid at Pancho Villa's wedding. My great grandfather never left to Chicago, but died in Chihuahua. He had quite a few sons, or had a big family ... some names were (Iztanilado (sp?), Juan, Jorge (my grandpa), Lupe Chico (Jr.) and others. They lived in Colonia Anahuac which was then known as Colonia Gardea, and now is known as La Celulsa (sp?) de Chihuahua.

There are many descendants from Guadalupe Gardea, my mother's family alone (Jorge) Gardea - he had 7 (Luz, Elisa, Josefina, Estela, Lola, Maria, and my mother, Maria Elena).

Hello, My name is Lisa Gardea I came originally came from South Gate Ca, now residing in Whittier, CA in serch of my family history i dont know much other then my grandfather name was Art Gardea and was married to my Grandma Amilia Gardea and they had only two children together Rick Gardea and my aunt Matha Gardea. Then he remariied and moved to long beach, Ca thats all i know. I seen him once when i was 5 im now 37. Dont laugh at me but....the reasoni need to know where certian abilities came from. Might be my Gardea side I feel strongly, I some times make things happend when Iam really angry.. Anyone elese???? Dont take this wrong I am not at all into wichcraft I am a christin love the lord. Hi, I am Jesus Gardea, a teacher from Camargo, Chih. Mx. I currently live in Los Angeles. When I lived in Camargo, I researched my family history. I was interested in knowing more about my family, specially where we came from. I even spoke to the “cronista de la ciudad,’ the historian in charge of narrating the history of the city, and other reliable people. I learned interesting stuff.

First, the Gardea is one really big family. All Gardea’s are related somehow. Every time you run into a Gardea in the streets of a Chihuahua city, he or she will ask about your ancestors because of this common knowledge. Most Gardea families in the early nineteen hundreds were farm workers which explain the migration to the US. Yet, Gardea families are from northern Mexico, especially Chihuahua. The borer city of Juarez is just a migrating point. Everybody in Mexico has relatives there. The Gardea family’s roots are deeper inside the state.

Secondly, a medical alert to all Gardea, this is a heads up and you will not feel proud of it. There is a history of metal disease, schizophrenia, in the family, several suicides too. The most resent one of Edgar Gardea. He was a very popular baseball player who killed himself and some members of his family… On the other hand, there are records of a French Gardea family leaving from the port of England in the early 1800’s. However, some people believe that we have Indian roots from the Tarahumaras or Chonchos.

The good things of Gardea have; In general, Men average 6’ tall, have the reputation of quiet, smart, and good looking (I’m the exception). There are several athletes like Edgar, and artist like Jesus Gardea from Delicias, Chih., a writer of kid’s books who just past away in 2004.- I had several emails that day from friends thinking it was me.

The Urban Legend.
Near Camargo, Chihuahua, there is a small Egido, a group of little small farms named La Laguna. There is an old story of a cheating wife. The boyfriend killed and buried the husband. The husband had left early morning to work in his land on his horse and wagon. At night only the wagon and the horse made it back home. The people from the Egido began the search for the missing husband for several days and couldn’t find him. On the last day, the search team took the family dog. The dog stopped and began digging and crying on the spot until it found his owner. I heard this story growing up thousands of times in many different ways, sometimes in three stories; the cheating wife that killed the husband, the lover that killed the husband and buried him, and the dog that found the missing owner. Until one day I learned the name of the famous husband, he was a Gardea.

Dear D Gardea: I have done my DNA also my brother and I have up to my great grandfathers name born 1867 beyond that I don't have any in formation. Our DNA says were Scottish and French, my brother only has some Bas, it could be from his mother as well. I have a different mother same father. You go to House of Names and Gardea is a Scottish name. I hardly have French and no Bas Spaniswe both have Finnish. My mother was Portuguese and American Indian and Slavic. My reat grand father was Ramon Gardea also used Garden surname. Oh yes I have North African Berber too. SJ Gardea Alva

Most Gardea's came from parral, chihuahua, mexico. they went into Mexico in the 1800 from Scotland and some claim to be italian too. I did my dna and found out that I had Scottish and Italian and other things too. I got Portugese from my mother and Slavic. The families had a lot of children eleven to twelve so there would be many offspring. There are some famous Gardea's one that wrote book, poems and some that are into sports. The name originally came from Scotland Gardynes of Fofar. Hope that help somewhat.

Somehow we are all related. My grandfather Joaquin Gardea, and his father Ramon Gardea were born in Parral, Chihuahua, in 1867 they came to El Paso, Tx. Each had at least eleven children. My great Aunts and Uncles are passed but the cousins are still living. I am trying to find the original Gardea. It is a Scottish name, and the family does have Italian. My brother and I both did out DNA and we are Scottish and Finnish with Italian and much more. Due to the Scottish people migrating across Europe. the Italian is from norther Italy, Tocano, and Tuscany and the other. We are probably related.

Check out my linage. My great grandfather had eleven children and adopted one so that's twelve. They were from Parral Chihuahua, Mexico. Ancestry says the Gardea's first came into Mexico in 1800.

I do have a relative Petra daughter of Ramon Gardea/Garden and Rosario Talamontes both born and married in Parral, Chihuahua. She was sister to my grandfather Joaquin Talamantes Gardea. He didn't use the Garden. This name is from Scotland check it on House of Names. I did my dna and I am part scottish, and my brother.

My Name is Tony gardea and my family is from cd juarez ch. My grandmothers name is Carmen and my grandfathers name is Antonio. I belive that they were both from parral ch and the mojority of my family resides in el paso tx. We have a total of twelve aunts and uncles. Hey all..My name is Sonja Villalobos and I recently started working on my family tree. I have Gardeas on my dads side of the family. My ggGrandpa's mother was Catarina Gardea born in 1855 in Santa Barbara. She married Rafael Villalobos in 1872 in Valle de Allende. Her parents were Rosalio Gardea & Ma.Josefa Gonzales. His parents were Nicomedes Gardea & Ma. Josefa Loya. Thats as far as I've been able to get.

Greetings: I don't know if you recieved my message. this is the second one of the day. My great grandfather was a baptist minister, Ramon Gardea, born in Parral, Chihuahua, 1865. Also my grandfather born in Parral. In 1891. Some of the children of Ramon were: my grandfather Joaquin T Gardea. T for his mother Rosario Talamontes, also born there. Santiago T Gardea, Jose T. Gardea,Jan 1895, Petra Gardea, Ester Gardea,1899, Eulalia Gardea,1901, Marcos Gardea, 1903, Josefina Gardea, 1905, Francessca Gardea, 1908, David Gardea,1910 and Lunnda Gardea,1913, all sons and daughters of Ramon and Rosario Gardea. I never hear if he had brothers or his fathers name. My grandfather had as many as well. If you recognize any or tell me the date of birth.

Hi just to add something to your namesake. Jesus Gardea was my father's cousin and he died I believe in 2000. He was actually quite a recognized writer in Mexico, but he did not write children's books. In fact his writing was actually very difficult, as he usually wrote about loneliness.

Hey Jose,

My grandfather Ricardo did have cattle ranches and a couple of supermarkets in and around Juarez, I belive his store was called SUPERTIENDA. My father Ismael told me a story of a big drought taking away allot of my grandfathers livestock. I also been told that he was a romantic man and had lots of children spread out from Juarez to Paral, perhaps that is how he lost his riches. My parents divorced when I was 14, and I don't keep in contact with my dad. If possible I will look for some pictures to share. Neither of your parents names ring a bell. Gardeas as far as I know are strong willed, fiery people. In a sense we are either pirates or preachers... Go figure! My grandfathers sister was Helena, she still lives in Juarez... sounds familiar?

Hello fellow Gardea's.. My Name is Hector Alfredo Gardea son of Luis Ismael Gardea of Juarez Chihuahua. My grand parents are Ricardo Gardea and Ester Gardea. My father was born in Jimenes, then later moved to Juarez, and finaly Los Angeles. I have like 15 uncles and aunts living from LA to El Paso TX. One of my famous uncles is Kayo, a thug/ magician from Juarez (a gang K13 was started in his memory and still exists in Juarez). I was told we were Italian, at least partially. You can probably find out who his parents were by looking up church baptism records. This is how my cousin found most of our family by checking church baptism records. My Great Great Grandfather Jose Leon had 6 sons one of whom may be one of your fathers great great grand parents they were all born between 1854 amd 1872. There names were Jose Nieves, Jose Cruz, Jose Magdaleno -my great grandfather, Jose Encarnacion, Jose Trinidad and Jose Urbano. Jose Leon and his son Jose Magdaleno left chihuahua and move into Texas but I dont know about the other brothers and don't know who there children were.

my fathers name is juan manuel gardea, born in chihuahua, mexico raised in juarez. he was pretty much a loaner. his dad is unknown and moms name was i believe juana.my father was born in the 1940's.
