In 1972 we were visiting & stayed with John & Emma Gemmel. Emma was a cousin of Bob Rodger[Robert]. We went to Newton Stewart for a few days to visit with the daughter & family cannot remember there lastr name. The Husband was a Sheep farmer. There was a little girl our daughter played with.
Emma & John lived in Glasgow a very nice area we did a lot of site seeing. Would like info on the family also trying to get more info on Robert Rodger born 1903 Aug 25th he married Minnie Murphy born 1901 Oct. all from Glasgow They immigrated to Canada 1925. E mail diann.rodger@sympatico.ca

GEMMEL EDYTHE PHOEBE Former resident of San Diego for 66 years, passed away on March 27, 2003. Edythe celebrated her 100th birthday, October 5, 2002. Survived by niece and husband, Mr. & Mrs. Harold Nelson, sister-in-law, Milda Gemmel. Graveside services will be held Saturday, April 5, 2003. Published in the San Diego Union-Tribune on 4/4/2003.

Trying to find a link back in Germany. Anna and Freda Gemmel sisters came to US approx 1886. Freda went to Philadelphia Pa. married a Philip Dogherty (sp?) Anna married Ernest Fritz Muller from Potsdam Germany and lived in Easton, Pa. Anna was born with her sister in Frankfurt an der Oder, Germany on July 22, 1878. She was a child of 8 or 9 when she came to US. Their father Henry Paul Gemmel Mother Augusta Gemmel remained in Frankfurt(Oder). If you have any further info or are related to Freda Gemmel Dogherty please contact me. There are six Gemmel families still livivg in Frankfurt (Oder). I am in the process of contacting them now.
