Re: ALL GENNOE'S

My husband is a descendant of Martha Gennoe's son David. From the posts I have seen by you, it seems we are stuck on this line at the same place.

In another post, you stated that Martha's father was Francis and I wondered how you established that. Since all the children are Gennoe, I had thought perhaps Francis was her husband and something befell him, or he moved on. Still that did not explain Permelia and her Gennoe children. If Francis is their father, as you said, why would both daughters have children bearing their maiden name? I found the Harris marriage record also, but he seems to have disappeared as well.

Just puzzled by this and wondering if you have made any progress since your post 10 years ago?

Martha Gennoe
David Gennoe +Cynthia Taft
Samuel Hardy Gennoe +Julia Teresa Taylor
William Vance Gennoe +Martha Elizabeth Arrowood
Mildred Frances Gennoe +Floyd Edward Morgan
James Richard Morgan (my husband)

ALL GENNOE'S

Hello, my name is Sandra and I am researching all various spellings of GENNOE. I have traced this line all the way back to MARTHA GENNOE b1798 South Carolina. She married a Gennoe man and came to Rhea/McMinn County area around 1820. Her children are JOHN, DAVID, JAMES, LOUISA JANE, MARY ANN AND CALVIN.

My grandmother is Florence Ellen Janow. Her parents were James Houston Janow and Ruth Jane Hicks.

I have info on ALL lines. Contact me at
sandrawoods@mediaone.net
