Do you have information on the children's names of Phillippe? I've traced William Gerard DOB June 1887; spouce: Ida Gerard. William's 1910 census states his father was born in Belgium/Germany. 1920 census states father's birth place Belgium. The birth dates seem to be possible.

Samuel Garrard Elizabeth Ann Mullins

John Mullins born abt 1743, VA Goochland - died abt 1805 GA Franklin, wife Elizabeth. I have seen that the widow, Elizabeth, over 45, is listed at the 1820 census GA Jackson with younger female (daughter?) aged 16 to 26.

At the same 1820 GA Jackson census my ancestor, Samuel Garrard, was in the household of his father, Jacob Garrard. Samuel married an Elizabeth Ann Mullins about 1821 and is then listed at the 1830 census GA Hall - 1 m-5, 2m 20-30 - 1f-5, 1f5-10, 1f30-40.

I'm thinking that this Elizabeth Ann Mullins may be a daughter of John & Elizabeth Mullins. (According to later censuses Samuel was born 1799/1800 & Elizabeth Ann would have been born the same year - possibly some months older giving rise to her inclusion in a different age group. However, at the last census in which she appears, the 1870 AL Marshall census, in the household of her daughter Elizabeth Garrard Bentley, her age is listed as 74. )

Any hints? Karen

DNA has proved the descendants of William Garrard who came from England is not related to Rev. John Garard/Gerard of Berkely County, Virginia. Proof has not been found to tie Rev. John to an English background. Several of his early descendants claim the family is French. It is likely that his fahter may have been living in England as a French Huguenot (Protestant) in the 16th and 18th centuries.

yes, you'll find it is. Also Dr Thomas Gerrard who enterd America from Lancashire England and owned land in Maryland, his off spring even related by marriage to George Washington. The Gerrards of Brynn were wealthy Catholic Normans, coming to England with William the Conqueror. They were keepers of Windsor Castle for a couple of hundred years from were they went to Penbrokshire (Wales)marrying Princess Nest the most beautiful women in Wales(so much so that the king of England kidnapped her and had children by her) The family then devided, some going to to Ireland with 'Strongbow' others heading north to the Lancashire/Cheshire border to become the Gerrards of Brynn (or Lancashire) holding important positions in Government and Royalty. Some heading back south or emigrating to America. The name Gerrard was recorded as Gerard, Jarrid, Gerratt Gerald etc due to mis spelling of the same name or slight changes to avoid persecution (being Catholic)They were wealthy and well educated, coming from Normandy but originally from Florence Italy. (Gheradini) Mona Lisa was a Gherardini. Otto traveled to England and FitzGerald (Fitz being Norman for 'son of') ie son of Gerald

Looking for Gerard children

I recently found the obituary for my Great Grandmother, Florida May Conkey. Her name was Florida Gerard at the time of her death. My Grandmother was her first born child. The remaining four children were all born 20 years after my grandmother. They were born in Mesa, Arizona area. I believe her husband's name was Edgar Gerard. Her four children's names by him were Arlene, James and twins Edward and Edene. Florida was in New Hampshire when she died. These four children were all 10 and younger when she died. Do these names ring any bells for anyone?

Hi! I am researching my mother's branch of our family tree. Her name was Muriel Joyce Boddy and her mother's maiden name was Frances Ruth Trombley, born around 1898 in Ontario Canada. Frances had a sister, Margaret Gerard.
According to family legend, their father, "Pippi" was at least 1/2 Algonquin Indian and "French Canadian". He had several brothers, perhaps a many as 4, but I have yet to track them down.
Anything relating to your search here?
Thanks!

I'm looking for Gerard's in Arizona. I believe Mesa, AZ to be exact. My great grandmother married an Edgar (Edwin, Eddie, etc) Gerard some time in the 40's. I believe she had 4 children with him. Two of which were twins, Eddie and Edena. Sound familiar to anyone? My Great Grandmother's name was Florida May Conkey. She may have had a different last name when she married Edgar.

My husband's father is the stepson of Fred, stepbrother to Robert and Woody. He took the Gerard name as his own. His name is Johnny and he currently is 79 years old, living in Muskegon MI.
Uncle Bob use to call and chat with my husband, Michael, often on the phone both from Chicago and when he moved to Tennessee.
Have been looking at my father-in-law's life from both the Gerard side and the biological side, which he is very secretive about. As far as he is concerned, his dad was Fred. Period.

Milwaukee's German newspapers: Claude Gerard, d. 1863

Death of a veteran. - On the night of Wednesday-last week, Claude Gerard died at Chilton, Calumet County, at the age of one hundred and seven years. He was born in France and served under the Napoleon I in the wars in Italy on the peninsula, and in Russia, as well as in the Battle of Waterloo. He was a respected resident of Calumet County for many years, by all who knew and loved him. His death came unexpectedly: before he went to bed, he had played with his grand-children with his whole heart, and the next morning the sun shone upon his corpse.

Translated from the "Banner und Volksfreund" (Milwaukee, Wisc.) 20 Oct 1863, pg 3 col 3; indexed at the Salzmann Library, St. Francis de Sales Seminary, and at the Milwaukee Public Library.

The Gerard family was important in Patchoque, a larger city in Brookkhaven Township Long Island. I don't remember the father's name but he was a judge or something important in county government. His son, Wilmot D. Gerard, born 1875 in Patchogue, also worked in the clerk's office. The Grandson Lorimer E. Gerard age 16 was in Washington DC in the 1930 Census with his monther Lilli M. He later moved to Dallas Texas.

How is Leroy V. Gerard connected to Mary R. Lockwood? I was doing some family research and come across them. She was born in Townsend, Huron, Ohio and died on 9, June, 1928.

Thank you
Amy Kushmaul
