Having a maiden name of Gerhard, I was contacted by WIlliam Poeler who supposedly has a treasure trove of Gerhard photos & items from the family of Julius & Elizabeth Gerhard, who both passed away around the turn of the century.
I have this man's contact information, and told him I would post this for him as he is elderly and has no internet.

Contact me for his info!!
Thanks!

Julius H. Gerhard and his wife, Elizabeth, had three children, all of whom were born in Missouri:
Albert J. (born March 17, 1855; died September 8, 1917, in St. Louis), Clara (born circa 1862),
and Julius W. (born February 24, 1871; died December 24, 1946, in St. Louis). Albert J. Gerhard
spent some time in Leadville, Colorado, and Kingston, New Mexico, in the mining business.
Julius W. Gerhard served as a lieutenant in the Spanish-American War, and was a member of the
Missouri National Guard for several decades.

Descendants of Gertrude Gerhard Hauze

Hello,

I'm looking for Gertrude Gerhard Hauze's descendants. (Gertrude married Ellsworth Hauze around the early 1940's. She's daughter of Ervin C. Gerhard and Elsie LNU.) Gertrude was my mother Jean Gerhard Satterfield's half-sister. After my mother passed, I went through old photos and have a photo of Gertrude's son Jerry from when he was in high school. I also have a picture of Gertrude's daughter Eileen running along the edge of a childhood photo of my mother. (Eileen only lived to be a few years old.)

If anyone is interested in these photos, please privately message me. If anyone is interested and can fill in some missing family tree details, that would be even better. :-)

my great grandfather's name was also Jacob born around 1866 the son of jacob Sr. As far as I know he was killed in 1896 before my grandfather william was born,no details. I know only what I have found on web. Since my grandfather was raised by his mother and stepfather I know nothing about the rest of the gerhards. My grandfather was William Gerhard later spelled Gearhardt.

I found a Theodore Gerhard listed on the 1900 Census for NY. I believe he may be the Brother of Agatha Gerhardt my G-Grandmother. What is interesting is that he is living with a Charles Gerhard family but is only listed as a "Boarder" and not a relative. And a couple of doors down is the Jacob Gerhardt family. Anyone have any idea of any connections the two families may have with Theodore and/or each other. Thanks!!

Gerhards from Nordrhein Westfalen

I am looking for information on any Gerhard's from the Nordrhein Westfalen area in Germany. I have a puzzle of names that I am trying to piece together.
What I know is that my 3rd great grandmother's name was Marie Catherina Gerhard and she married Johann Friedrich Dornhoefer. They immigrated from the village of Feudingen via Bremen to Texas in 1848. Marie Catherina's mother's name was Catherine Gerhard. Marie's father died before she was born or they married, so she got her mom's last name.
Johann Friedrich's mother's maiden name was also Gerhard. I've seen her first name Auguste and Agnese, not sure which is correct. She married Johann Heinrich Dornhoefer.

If any of this sounds familiar to anyone researching Gerhard's please reply. I have found additional Gerhard information, but I am getting a little confused.

Hi Glenn, Just got back to the Gerhard family history and don't recall if I ever replied to you or not. Yes that Virginia Vanderberg Graver is me. My husband John was the son of Owen Graver and Helen Wetzel and he passed away on Feb. 8,2004 in Wyoming Michigan. You might want to add that to your book. I have the book now and am trying to update it as I know there must be more family since then. Let me know what page you are on. Regards, Ginny
