Hello,
I have been told that I am a cousin of Charlie Gehringer, but am looking for the actual connection. All I know is that it is on my mother's side - the Theisen's - from Germany. Charlie is a hall-of-famer, also known as "The Mechanical Man" for his precision-like play at 2nd base for the Detroit Tigers. Comerica Park, home of the Tigers, has a wonderful statue dedicated to him. If you find out anything else, please let me know. I am happy to share anything I have.
- Kelly

Geringer was born on May 28,1875 and died on Jan. 12, 1958 then he was my grandfather Adam C. Geringer's brother. They are buried in the same cemetary - Fairmount - Willow Springs, IL.
If you are related to John H. Geringer born 28 May 1875 and died 12 Jan 1958, then my grandfather, Adam C. Geringer born 1871 and died 1954, was John H.'s brother. I don't have a lot of information but I do know there were 18 children altogether, 3 more born after 1880. He is buried in the same cemetary as my grandfather. I don't have any information on him except for 2 children appearing on his and his wife Mary (Keuchman)Geringer's U.S. Census form for 1900 and 1910. Her parents Charles and Mary Keuchman lived with them. I will share what I have.

I have a list of the 18 children of George and Sophia Geringer along with their birth and death dates. I think 15 of them were born in Peru, Illinois and after they moved to Chicago in February 1880 a set of twins were born in 1882 but then died in infancy. A son Frank was born in 1885. I am looking for George's parents names and his siblings' names and what town in Germany they had in. My information is that he came here from Bavaria, Germany in 1842 when he was 9 years old. Did he have a brother named Nicholas? I am a decendant of their 11th child, Adam C. Geringer, who owned a tavern and gas station on Chicago's south side. I also need information on Sophia Seepe, born in Prussia in 1838.

Hi, I have an orphan certificate for a Richard A. Seepe. Date April 1926, from a Mechanical Engineering Fraternity. And I have a book of Architecture with the initials P.L. Seepe in the inside. If you are related and want the items let me know. There is also an 8 x 10 picture of a Lady.....on the bottom it says from Clare "Christmas" 1926. No other marking on the front or back. My mom found this stuff in a house she bought several years ago and found them again while cleaning. Just trying to reunite them with their relatives.
Tammy,
Greetings cousin! I'm not sure if I can provide much new info on the older generations, but I'll help out with what I have. I'm also a great granddaughter of Olive Gehringer and Amel Crame. I'm the oldest of 8 in my family. My father is Albert Richard Kron (Sr), oldest child of Anna Belle Crame Kron Rixner, daughter of Olive and Amel Crame. I can remember visiting great aunt Katherine (sp?) Porter's home as a child to select a Christmas tree. Now that I'm down to one grandparent, I'm trying to reconstruct what I can from my Dad and his sisters. Not much is documented. Please contact me at rkdudik@yahoo.com and we can compare notes. Other contact info:
Ruthanne Dudik
2821 Michael Dr
Newbury Park, CA 91320
805-499-1240
Hope to hear from you soon.

Sincerely,
Ruthanne
I have found 13 of them so far, but think there were 18 children all together. Caroline's brother, George, Jr. married my great grandmother, Lillian H.
My mother's name is Vivian daughter of Erna Huxhold sister of your grandfather Otto. Perhaps you would remember my cousin Linda Overholt better. Her family lived on the North Side of Chicago for years. The last time I saw you, you were with Uncle Otto at her house. I was probably about sixteen years old. Do you remember the house in Forest Park with Aunt Lydia, Aunt Meta and Aunt Nora?
I remember being at your house once in Carpentersville.

Sadly, Linda passed away several years ago. Her mother Wanda is also deceased. I will check with my mother and see if she remembers anything about Aunt Rosie, your grandmother.

Has anything I said rang a bell yet. I know its hard to remember back.

Sandy Joplin, maiden name Jones

I often wondered how I could find you or Eileen. I could tell from the social security death index that your parents were deceased. Is you uncle Eugene and his wife Pat still living? I remember they were moving to Florida. Its funny I can remember way back but not where I put my car keys.
Hello Gene,

I remember you. When my grandmother passed away you came and paid your respects. I recently had dinner with Phyllis and Eileen. I hadn't seen them in over 35 years. I don't know if they told you yet, but we are planning to get together October 21 in Genoa for a small family reunion. I hope you and your family can come. I plan on brining old pictures and family history with me. If your brothers and sisters don't know about the reunion, please let them know. I know one of the girls was going to get in touch with you, but I don't remembe which one. Eileen was going to be on vacation the month of September. I hope to see you there or hear from you before that.

Sandy
