There are projects like the New Mexico DNA project on website, thru an Angel Cervantes, administrator. My family claims I am a descendant of Geronimo, too, and I am submitting a DNA sample for analysis. Maybe we could have yDNA from our male descendants checked for a match. Contact the website. This is a project designed to trace lineage of surnames and families to first settle in New Mexico. Thanks, Joe Bejarano

My name is Constance Horsfield. My Grandmother was one of Geronimo's granddaughters. It is hard to tell from which wife her father came from but she was born one year after he died. I don't know what her real name was but it was changed to Blanche Marshall in 1952 when she re-married. She left the reservation in 1961 when her husband died. She also looked exactly like him as does my father and my brother. My sister and I hold a strong likeness but it is all in the eyes and nose. My grandmother "meme" as we used to call her always said that I took more after her mother than her father. I wish I could tell you names but I am still waiting for my fathers birth certificate from the reservation so I can start tracing back.

I am Joseph Bailey Kirk's great grandson. I am from Tipton, Oklahoma originally. My father is Arthur Wayne Kirk who is the oldest son of Joseph Arthur Kirk, one of Joseph Bailey's sons. I can give you the name of Joseph Bailey's father. Apparently, his name was Kelsy Kirk. His wife's name is unknown. I was unaware that there was a possible family connection to Geronimo.

I am not sure how we were related though. I am having trouble getting any farther on my family tree especially on my Grandfather's side. I saw on here so many different names of people who say they are related to him? How can it be that many people. I would like any information you can share. My mother's maiden name is Edmonston.
i have an interesting family story about Geronimo.it appears that my grandfather knew Geronimo as a friend.my grandfather was William c miller back somewhere between 1860 and 1900 he would allow Chihuahua band which Geronimo was a member to cutout cattle from his ranch as needed.for this kindness he was allowed to cross their territory unmolested, provided he wore a red bandanna.as the story goes twice he forgot the bandanna.first time grandfather was shot with an arrow in the leg while trying to escape by hiding behind his horse at a dead run by mangus.the second time he was shot by Geronimo with a rifle, again forgetting the bandanna.both times according to the story he was taken to their camp where his wounds were attended to. have no idea if or how much of this is true.what i would to find out is how much truth if at all is true.would really to know if stories such as this were passed down to his descendents and how much of this story is true.

I was told he was the uncle of my relative Delia Crosby born about 1850. I don't know which sibling her parent would be or if this is family legend. It is just what I was told. The woman in the pictures is obviously Native American, but I that doesn't tell me her blood line. I'm dying to know more. Where do I start?

I beg your pardon, but there are living descendants of Geronimo living on the Mescalero Reservation in New Mexico. These descendants use the last name of Geronimo. In addition, there are other living descendants in Mexico.

Hello out there. Yes he had one son living when that photo was taken but...his entire family had been killed by Mexicans before his war with the US began. That son died in battle as a young man. There are no remaing family for him. It is a shame but...there is so much material out there on him that this should not be necessary.

Apache were from the NM, AZ, west TX, basically south western US.

The Proctor name is typically associated with the Piscataway Tribe. Geronimo or Goyathlay as he is originally known, was of the Chiricahua Apache Nde Nation.

I hope this helps but it is unlikely that you are related to Geronimo based on what you have written.
