I don't have much info at this point, but will be glad to forward anything i find out . . . I will save your email & contact you should I come across anything.

The info I have is from a cousin of my husband (who is part of the actual Gersey family) & what I could find at ancestry.com. The cousin's info is not on computer yet.

I am looking for a relative born in Czechoslovakia whose name is (or was) Eugen Gersy. He is a brother of my mother Olga Gersy who hasn't seen or heard about him since after the World War II.
My name is Margareta and I live in England (was born in Czechoslovakia though).

Hello!
I am researching the name Geresi which originated from Mateskalza, Hungary. Most of my family came over from Hungary in the early 1900's. I happen to find many records from the Reform Church records through the Church of Latter Day Saints Family History Centers. The name was changed to Geresy from Geresi when my family was in the states. I am trying to figure out the origins of the name. Our names happen to be very close. Any information would be cool or maybe I am barking up the wrong tree (so to speak)

Hi, I just started, saw your message. I too am looking for Gersey, only in our case it's Gercie. Our folks also are from Hungary, but settled in Northeastern PA, (Easton Area) and Northwest New Jersey ( Phillipsburg Area). I can't find this spelling anywhere but the Social Security Death Benefit Search ( in which case there are 10). I've also heard it may be spelled Gersie. If you've found out anything, I would like to hear about it! Thanks!

My grandparents emigrated from Hungary between 1903 and 1907. Settled in Ohio. Name could be spelled Gersei. Is anyone familiar with this rather unusual name? Grandmother's maiden name was Nagy.
