EDWARD GILMORE, age 76, died on March 11, 1999, at The Montefiore Home, Beachwood, Cuyahoga County, Ohio. He was born on August 19, 1922, in Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, OH, the son of Albert Gilmore and SOPHIE BRENNER. He was a resident of Beachwood, OH, and a widower. His wife's name was not reported. Burial on March 14, 1999, at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Bedford Heights, Cuyahoga County, OH. Informant - Mr. Dan Kozminski of Solon, Cuyahoga County, OH.

Addie May Gilmore was the daughter of Martha Paralee Brown Gilmore and Jefferson Davis Gilmore. Martha is buried next to her daughter at Forest Lawn and Jefferson Davis Gilmore is buried at Ozro Cemetery near Maypearl, Tx in Ellis County.

I have viewed your posts with interest. I am the 5greats granddaughter of Aaron Sr., through Andrew Jr., Armour, Horace Benjamin, Augustus Posey, Nancy Stevenson Wilson, and my dad Arthur Augustus Wilson.
Some information on the web says that Andrew Sr. died in 1779, and died in North Carolina. (Must be another Andrew). As I reviewed other information, that did not make sense to me, and am interested in the 1816 date, dying in NY, which seems more plausible. I notice this post is from 2001, and am wondering what new info has turned up in 11 years. I am going to look at your rootsweb information. One place I viewed had all of Andrew Sr's children through Margaret Gilmore, and the second wife (whoever she is) had none. I am interested in what you think, if you have the time.

Dick was a son of the late George E. and Alice Gilmore. Following his 1948 graduation from North East High School he served in the US Navy from 1948 to 1952. Dick was an air traffic controller at Erie International Airport for over 34 years. He enjoyed reading, loved time spent with his family and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
In addition to his parents,
Dick was preceded in death by his son John E. Gilmore and two brothers: Robert N. and George E. Gilmore, Jr.
He is survived by two sons: Robert T. Gilmore and his wife Theresa and Scott L. Gilmore, all of Lake City,PA,
a daughter-in-law, Debra S. Billings Gilmore of Fairview; and a grandson, Joshua R. Gilmore of Philadelphia. Bridget Prendiville (spellings of this name vary a lot) married an M. Gilmore. His first name may have been Martin. She was born in 1880 in Causeway, Co. Kerry, Ireland. I don't know where he was from. She had relations in New York, Massachussets & California. Im not sure where they settled. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I can't locate him in TN, NC or VA.We know from his daughter Elizabeth Weaver that her mother was Mary Godfrey. Did Eliz ever leave any info about where they were married? There are no records pertaining to her in Adair Co. Does anyone know where Mary Isaacs's parents were from? I am currently looking at old marriage bonds in whatever older books I can find in the libraries. Our Father, Abner H. GILMORE, he and his siblings were born between 1904 and 1922. Their names are: Myra Belle, Ella Estelle (Mattie), Philip Edward, Lilly Odell, Abner Hilburn, Steve, Gaio, and Sam were born to William Riley GILMORE(1880-1938) and Lou Ella GARNER(1884-1961)in and around Winn and Franklin Parishes... they lived in Richland parish in later years.

Hello, I hope someone can help... this is driving me crazy! On the death certificate of George Gilmore (1872-1954) it states that his parents were Alexander Gilmore and Sarah Redding. However, I cannot find them on any census records. I do find an Alexander and Eliza Gilmore with a son the same age as my George. I would love it if anyone has information on this family. Maybe her name was Sarah Elizabeth? Maybe Eliza is a second or prior wife? I just can't find any difinitive answers. If you know this family, I would LOVE to hear from you! heidej at goetsch.com

Hello bzauner1222. They seem to be different Roberts - my gr-uncle was born in Ireland in 1847 and died in Clarkson, NY in 1916. I think I now know of any of his direct male Gillmor descendents. However with the spelling Gillmor and Scottish origins and my feeling that we have other American connections, there could be the possibility of a connection between our families in an earlier generation. If you ever come across any such possibility, no matter how tentative, I would be very glad to hear about it. My partial public family tree on ancestry is GILLMORD1.

I'm sure she is a daughter of one of the four brothers Gilmore who came to America from Londonderry in the early 1700s. Rachel was married to James Arbuckle, a prominent planter in the area. By him she had one son, Capt. James Arbuckle, bn. abt. 1763.

He had been employed with Republic Steel Corporation as a die setter, retiring in 1985.
He was a member of the Temple Emmanuel Seven Day Adventist Church, where he served as Deacon, Sabbath School Teacher and AY leader.
He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed photography.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved wife, the former Dorothy Megginson, whom he married Jan. 23, 1965; seven children, William K. (Carrie) Gilmore of Virginia Beach, Va., Robert Gilmore, Simmie Gilmore, Cheryl (Rick) Boudrey, Sabra “Shelly” Gilmore, Yvonne (Jerald) Drummer and Pamela (Israel) Jusino, all of Youngstown, Ohio; two sisters, Gladys (Eugene) Mickel of Youngstown and Margaret Whipple of Harrisburg, Pa.; 31 grandchildren, including Jorden Gilmore, whom he reared; 61 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.

Besides his father, Jasper Gilmore Sr. and mother Marie Stewart, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Connie Cheers; a son, Arthur Gilmore; and a brother, William Gilmore.

Friends may call Monday from noon to 4 p.m. at the L. E. Black, Phillips and Holden Funeral Home and Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.

I know that your original email was 10 years ago, however, I am hoping that you are still receivin these emails. My grandmother Lucinda Harding was married to a William Franklin Gilmore in 1937. However, my father was born in 1934 and I have no record of marriage before then. She would have been 18 when he was born and 21 when she married William. William and my father have the same middle name (coincidence I am not sure). My father refused to talk about things, however, I do know that he said his father was William and he said he left when he was 11. Lucinda remarried in 1950 when my father was 16. William Calvin Gilmore - Iowa, South Dakota, Nevada?

I am looking for information about my husband's grandfather, William Calvin Gilmore. He was born in Iowa in 1887 and married Emma Riley in 1910 in South Dakota. He seems to have gotten himself in some trouble and left Emma and their children and moved to Nevada and re-married, though he never divorced Emma. He was a pianist by trade, I believe. He died in South Dakota in 1936.

Can find nothing on them beyond that date. Thomas was a railroad engineer on the Northern Pacific and so lived in variously in Montana, Washington, Minnesota etc throughout his life. I have an ancestor, George W Gilmore, from Rhode Island who went to sea on a whaling voyage with an uncle of his when he was 9. This would have been around 1822.

I don't know that the captain was a Gilmore, but he could be. Does anyone know of a Gilmore who may have been owner or master of a whaling vessle in the early to mid 1800's?

Yes, I've learned that is correct. I visited the Pondville Cemetery in 2009, and the grave stone of Andrew Gilmore,my great-great-great-great-grandfather was still visible to my son, and that of his wife. The rest of the family, or many of them, I should say, are in the Gillmor (original name) Cemetery in the old town, Raynham, Massachusetts, Andrew's father, James, and James' father John, and others in the family. John and James came to this country in 1700 and beget eleven Revolutionary War soldiers, two of whom were officers. Most of them were in the local militia, I think, but William Gilmore was in Washington's regular army, and perhaps some others were, also. Tyrell Gilmore died at Concord or Lexington, I believe, before the war officially started, in a skirmish with the British. Toby Gilmore, the one-time slave of John Gilmore, was freed to fight in the war by Andrew's brother.

St Munchin CemeteryEstablished 1969St Munchin Cemetery is owned by St Munchin Catholic Church in Cameron Missouri. A cemetery board oversees operations and maintenance. Located in a peaceful countryside location in Clinton County, Missouri, St Munchin Cemetery provides a final resting place for the faithful departed, and a setting where family and friends can remember and pray.
The original cemetery consisted of 10 acres purchased June 19, 1869 from James and Elizabeth Cazier and deeded to Bishop John J. Hogan of the catholic Diocese of St. Joseph. In 1927 seven of the ten acres were sold to Mr. Lake Jones.

An additioanl three acres (336' x 360') were purchased in November 1991 from Mr. Louis Gates, which doubled the size of the cemetery.

St. Munchin parishioners voted to name the three new areas

Our Lady of Peace, Children of God and Guardian Angels.
The oldest identifiable marker belongs to Bridget Hinchey, who died in 1869. A story is told that the northeast corner of the cemetery claims the graves of Mexican workers who were killed in a train wreck. One grave honors three friends who were united in life and death.
Many of those who served our country and died in battle are interred here, including edward kenney and his brother James.

Several of the families who have donated stained glass windows to the St. Munchin catholic Church are buried in the cemetery, including Thomas and Elizabeth Goldrick, Joseph Quell, and Jeremiah and Bridget Ryan.

one of my Great Grandfathers Name John Gilmore he was born in Londonderry around Late 1600's or Early 1700's and Married Agnes Anderson or Agnes Hamiton and Left Ireland to United States and his family had been in Ireland around 100 years and before that thet were living in Scotland and i need help to do my Gilmore Famliy History and my Grandmother is Mary Gilmore -
Verheecke here life dates are from 1915-1986 yep her maiden name is Gilmore and are there any Gilmore in Londonderry? yep i want or need all the information i can get

I read about your Gilmore newsletter. My Gilmores came from South Carolina into Alabama. Mine settled in Mississippi but was told others went to Texas. If you have anything on Lewis Gilmore, I sure would be interested

I relize this is an old post, so not sure if you will get my response, but Mary Gilmore and Martin Donelan are my great grandparents. I visited Ireland in 2008 with my father (his father was Edward, son of Mary and Martin) and saw the homestead where they lived (or rather, what was left of it). I have posted pictures of the homestead on my public family tree.
