Does anyone know who this Horace C. Gilson belongs to? I've seen bits of his history out on the web. He was secretary of Idaho territory in 1865, became acting governor, embezzled $41,000, fled to Hong Kong, made his way to Europe and then to New York. He was never convicted due to some technicality.

I was looking for a Horace born about 1838 in Ohio. I think he would have been too young to be this embezzler, but nothing I read gave an age or origin for him.
