My wife is a Bernice Gines, here family came out of Wales England, goes back to abt 1660, after taht we cannot find them in England

I believe they came from Porugal, or Spain, maybe they were fisher picket up by the English warships during the war with spain and brougt to England??

Hi my name is Marjorie Mones Gines. I have two sisters.we're from Philippines too...
My fathers name is Filomino Gines. That is all I know from him. I'd never seen his face. I had no idea how he looks like.. Because he stabbed my mother to death when i was 11months old. It happened on July 29, 1979 at Sta. Mesa Manila Philippines... I really want to find any relatives of my father. I have no idea if he's still alive, in jail or dead... maybe we are somehow connected. please let me know if you know about him... I'll Greatly appreciate it. Thank you in advance. God bless!

I would like to know if you know more about the roots of Gines as a last name; I know there is a town under this name but it doesn't seem that the name Gines corresponds to the last name of the family, only the name of the town, because they were under the government of other families such us Zuñiga and Gusman but it doesn`t mention Gines as a last name.

I work with Maryann Gines ( maiden name ) , daughter of Francisco Gines and Alice Dalman ( his 1st wife ). At one time her father lived on 1514 Clinton St. Delano, Ca. He died in Delano, Ca. Maryann was married at one time to Richard Ovalle. She is very much interested in getting in touch. Gines of Cradley, Herefordshire

I have just discovered a distant line of Gines which has so far led me back to the 1800s and Cradley in Herefordshire.

The head of the line that I have is Eli Gines, wife Mary, son Richard and probably John too but as I haven't been able to see PRs this may be a red herring.

Does anyone else have Herefordshire Gines in their tree? Would love to hear from you.

Last names are so mixed and ramos is so common that i dont know if this will help either one of us.

My grandfathers name is Jose Ramos
Married/had a child with Leonila Infante in Cuba.
They had a daughter, Josephina Ramos Infante (aka Luisa).
I know the background is from spain too. i just dont have any other info cause my grandmother leonila died in 1942-1943. and Jose died in 1948-1949.

If this sounds familiar let me know.

I was adopted, my real given name was Anthony Lee Ramos, My real father's name is Jose Ramos the 3rd. He came to the U.S. from Havana when he was 17 (about 1955-57) he is now about 65/66. (I'm 40) I have 2 dates of birth for him, they are either October 30th, or 31st, 1939, or 40.
His father and Grandfather's names were both Jose ramos. I have much more information, and would like to share with anyone who is interested, or who may be able to assist me in finding more about my own family history. There are also some Traina's, and Sanchez's in my line. Most of the family that got out of Cuba prior to Castro live either in the Miami area, or the New York / New Jersey areas. (some of them had been within Batista's government at some level, I'm not sure, and were exiled. Others still live in Cuba, some still travel back & forth, and others <distant relations> are still immigrating, and have been over the years)

Ramos family in Melilla

I believe my g.g.great grandparents were from Melilla
They migrated to Cuba and had their daughter Josefa Ramos there. Early 19th century pehaps.

The family name is Ramos, possibly Jose Ramos but I have no further information
Please let me know if anyone has any clues.

It's been so long since I posted the message I forgot about it. All my information is stored on another computer. It may take a week or so until I have time to hook it up and see if it's still on there. From the information I found, most of the Gines moved to Illinois and that's where I stopped because they all had so many childred. My grandmother was one of tweIve so it's gets very congested to say the least. I also didn't have any information prior to Lilly. The problem is that most all the towns records were destroyed in a fire. If you are still interested I can check my other computer. Send me an e-mail and I will look for what I have. Thanks!

I've just come across this post by Kessa Gines from nearly four years ago and am replying for the sake of the record. I am a member of the African-American Gines family. My gGF was Richard Gines born in Louisiana in about 1860. He was married to Sylvia Lejay (b. 1863; d. 1940) of Caddo Parish, Louisiana. My GF was their son, William Edward Gines (b. 1898; d. 1955). He lived most of his adult life in Kansas City MO where he married Annie Florida Corrine Long (b. 1902; d. 1986). My mother is their daughter, Lillian Jeannette Gines Manson (b. 1932). Kessa Gines is most likely a cousin of mine.

Samuels Father was George Henry Gines (the emigrant) Born 15 Jun 1808,Stratford,Warwichshire England Married 31 Oct 1831 Stratford,Warwichire England to Ann West Born 22 Feb 1814, Wasperton.Earwichshire England...they had 9 children!

When they came to USA, they scattered in all 6 directions!
