I have a Pierre Girouard married to Magdeline Thibodeaux on August 24, 1803. A son, Maximilien (b. 1811) who married Carmesile Broussard (b. 1817) Feb. 11, 1833. Maximilien had a son, Therance (b. 1835) married Adonatilde Landry (b. 1837) Dec. 12, 1854. Therance had a son, Hazard (b. 1871) (possibly: Louis Hazard) married Zulmae Landry (b. 1880).
I would like MORE info on Hazard Girouard. Hope this is a connection.

I am looking for a woman named Anita Girouard. She might have lived in or around Rhode Island. If I had to guess at a birth date, I'd say around 1920. I have a picture of her with her name written on the back that was in my grandfather's stuff. It says: "Miss Anita Girouard June 25, 1932 Taken May 10, 1942" Just looking to find anything about her that I can... what is the significance of the first date.. etc. I can even send this to any family members who may want it.

I am not a descendant of olivier Girouard and Mary Ellen Dunn. But now that I have a contact in in this family line, I can gather some information that can be helpful.
I had a file on Oliver and Mary Dunn, according to the marriage certificate, Oliver was born in Cocagne, New-Brunswick Canada about an half hour drive from Moncton, New-Brunswick Canada. In the marriage cert. Oliver was a widower, but Mary Ellen Dunn was not previous married.

I am looking for documented information about Hilaire Levi Warner Girouard. I believe that he was born about 1870 in Ware, Hampshire County, Massachusetts, USA.
I have a copy of the actual marriage certificate between he and Rosalba Parmentier on 15 Nov 1890 in Providence RI.
On that certificate, his parents are listed as Moise Girouard and Lucie Cartier. Unfortunately, I have not been able to get his actual DOB or birth record. Nor have I been able to find his parents' marriage or birth records.

My grandmother was Alice Girouard Gregory. She was born in Moncton, New Brunswick December 6, 1898. Her parents were Oliver Girouard and Mary Ellen (Dunn) Girouard. She died in 1949. Siblings at that time were listed as Mrs. Anne Hottleman of Dorchester, Mass., Mrs. Kay Johnston of Canada, James Girard of Boston and Daniel Girard of Canada.
Alice married Robert Gregory. They later lived in Richmond, VA, USA. I'm looking for information about Oliver and Mary Ellen and any relatives.

Marie died in 1908 and is buried in St. Paul's cemetery in Warren, but Anthanase is not buried with her. M. Marin Girouard est mort vendredi soir, a l'age avance de 100 ans, chez son fils a Ste. Marie. Il est le grand-pere de M. Edouard Girouard avocat de Moncton.

Le defunt etait un des derniers survivants de la guerre de 1812-14. Son grand-pere, Gervais Girouard, fut fait prisonnier politique a Halifax, quelque temps apres la dispersion des Acadiens de Port Royal. Apres sa delivrance, il alla s'etablir pres Fredericton et demeura dans la environs de cette ville assez long temps. Enfin, il vint habiter le comte de Kent, ou naquit Marin Girouard en 1794.

La defunt s'enrola dans l'armee britannique a l'age de 18 ans, et il aimait a raconter les emouvantes aventures auxquelles il avait ete mele dans cette campagne. Pendant 18 ans il recut une pension du gouvernement d"Ottawa. M. Marin Girouard etait un homme tres sociable, parlant beaucoup du "bon vieux temps." La gangrene qui s'etait mise dans ses jambes, il y a quelques semaines a ete la cause de sa mort.

Le venerable centenaire dont nous pleurons la perte avait conserve toute sa lucidite d'esprit. Causeur enjoue, sa conversation etait un veritable jeu d'esprit que tout le monde recherchait avec avidite.

I met him when I was in Nova Scotia, being a Girouard descendent myself. Though his name is spelled different it is still the same line and his work is extensive.

92, peacefully passed into the Lord’s arms on Sunday, December 30th, 2007. Born in New Bedford, MA, she was the daughter of the late Maxime and Elizabeth (Boudreau) Girouard. She was the beloved wife of the late Theodore L. Marchand and lived most of her life in Pawtucket until retiring in Matunuck, RI. Irene was employed for many years as a proof reader for the Pawtucket Times newspaper. She was an avid reader, card player and athlete with a great appreciation for music and dancing. She was the caring and devoted mother of Marilyn Stebenne and her husband Russell of Cumberland, Carolyn DelFino and her husband Ronald of Cranston and Sr. Elaine Marchand, RSM of Pawtucket. She was greatly cherished and admired by her grandchildren Russell Stebenne II, David Stebenne, Gina Tocco and Jonathan DelFino. Her four great grandsons affectionately called her “Memee”. Irene was very happy to have enjoyed a very special circle of friends and caretakers at Victoria Court Assisted Living where she spent her last years. She will be sadly missed by all. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday at 9:00am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME 1278 Park Avenue Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in the Immaculate Conception Church, Oaklawn Avenue, Cranston at 10:00am. My grandfather, Philias Girourd, was married to Grace Brauner. My grandfathers ancestry came from france. The family Moved to Montreal and farmed there until the English captured them and sold them as Slaves in Louisiana. Relatives escaped and got as far as Rhode Island were my grandfather wasd born. He grew up very poor. He became Chief Officer at thr Bureau of Ordinance, Navy Dept. in Wa. D.C. There he was decorated by Harry S. Truman And Eisenhower. He recieved the highest medal of honor that a civilian can recieve. He adopted my mother who was his brothers daughter. philias Girourd had another brother,Paul, who was Bishop of Madegascar.
