Looking for any information regarding this couple after the 1860 US Census for Catawba, North Carolina. At the time of the census they had a 9 month old daughter named Dovey. I'm wondering if they are related to my Glasgow line. There seems to be no records of this family after 1860. If they moved to Tennessee, then to Arkansas, then to Oklahoma, there should be some record somewhere.

Linda, I am sorry to report that there are no living male Glasgow members from the James Glasgow family that came from Abbeville SC to Randolph County, Illinois. I wish there were - I think the DNA project would be wonderful proof. The descendent from OK is most probably as close a relative to this line that I am aware of. Those probate papers of John Glasgow were a life saver. I can't thank you enough for sharing. Carole

Hello,

Robert Sanders Glasgow was my great-great-grandfather. One of his son's, Martin Glasgow was my great-grandfather. One of Martin's children was Thelma Glasgow, my grandmother. Thelma married Santos Romo, Sr. and eventually ended up in Dallas, TX. They had 12 children and one of their children is Samuel Glagow Romo, my father. If you would like information about my grandmother, Thelma, I would be happy to tell you about her. She was an amazing woman. She died approximately 13 years ago in Dallas from a stroke. I still miss her every day.

Thank you.

Elizabeth "Libby" Romo Randall
Arlington, TX

libbysworld@tx.rr.com
They had twelve children which included my Dad, Samuel Glasgow Romo. Here is a link to information on the Confederate Regiment Which Robert Sanders Glasgow was in and where he is buried. I have not been able to find out the names of his parents yet.

http://www.txgenweb6.org/txnavarro/cemetery/prairie_point/in...

Additionally I located more information which may be the same person in the following text:

http://www.txgenweb2.org/txknox/history.htm

Hope this helps you.
Re: Wright name

Hi Monica, Thought I'd post this here from Peggy to clear up the Wright name issue...in case anyone searches for this years from now...
________________________________________________
Email from Margaret Peggy Shaw April 2010

When I first started researching the family back in the middle sixties, I wrote to my Great Aunt Prudie Glasgow Goode for information. She was getting up in years then, was in poor health, and sometimes got confused. She told me that her Reagan grandmother was a Davis which is correct, but she told her Glasgow grandmother was a Wright. Actually, it was her great grandmother Davis who was a Wright. Other relatives have since confirmed this. I have never been able to find out what Nancy Jane's maiden name was. It is possible that it was Sanders or Fleming since her sons were given those names as first names.

Hi Valerie
I'm still searching for those names in my 2000 query. Glad to hear from you!

I'm a granddaughter of Wiley Russell, son of Harriet Glasco Stevenson. Harriet is my great grandmother.

I've been trying to find the earlier generation &/or the slaveowner for forever, it seems. I've been at this hobby for about 25 years.

Let me hear from you so I can identify you. What's your direct maternal line? Let's compare research. Can't wait to hear from you.

Hello hopefully this email gets to you, it's been nearly a decade since you posted. I found your message through google and it's clear we are related. Wiley John Russell is the son of my great great great grandmother Harriet Glasco. I have obtained a lot of information on our family. You can email me through this post. I'm not sure why you are posting from England, are you in England? I am on the American ancestry site...ancestry.com. Someone with the surname of Reese was a neighbor.
