Trying to locate information on Gertrude who was briefly married to Howard Austin Glazier around 1928. She must have been divorced from Howard sometime prior to 1933 but I do not know how to confirm the divorce. Would appreciate a lead to find additional information. Thanks.

He wrote several other books besides the Cornell manuscript which has nothing about his Glazier ancestry. You can Google his name and find a Prentiss Glazier in Toronto. I suspect that is his son Prentiss, Jr.

Tom

I saw something once that mentioned Prentiss' ancestor was related to Asa Glazier. I am tracing all of the Glaziers I can to make sure I am on the right track with Asa Glazier. He was mixed up with Asahel Glazier so many assumed Asa's parents were Asahel's parents and I am trying to straighten it out. I think Asa's parents were Benjamin Glazier and Lydia Cummings. Benjamin's brother was Jonathan, later Jotham Glazier who I think was Prentiss's ancestor. Asa is my ancestor.

Pay postage both ways.

Mr. Glazier died in Nov. 1991.

I'm working on updating it.
Hi, I am searching for the PARENTS of Seldon L. Buckland whom records say was b. 1830 in Willamantic, CT. He married Clarissa Lovina Gilmore b. 1836 Coventry, NY. Their son, Charles Felix Buckland was recorded as being b. 1871 also in CT, but their earlier children said to be born in NY.

Family stories are of there being a N. American, but that is all. I'm wondering if perhaps you may be able to help me? Thank you much. Colleen
Re: Birth record of John N. Glazier, son of Ebenezer

Ebenezer Glazier
Birth 8 Sep 1756, Lancaster, Massachusetts
Death 17 Dec 1838, Hague, New York;, or Weathersfield, Vermont
2nd wife Lois Edgel
Marriage 2 Sep 1784, Holden, Worcester, Massachusetts
Children Aaron E. (~1788-1859)
John N. (~1798-1878)
Elinor W. (1801-)
Ebenezer Glazier Received a Revolutionary War pension at age 62,in 1818; he had served in the Battle of Trenton, in Sullivan's Retreat from Rhode Island, and at Saratoga at Burgoyne's defeat(served 1777-1780) , resided in Weathersfield, VT. before 1790, and Hague,Warren County,NY. At the time of the 2nd Census of 1820, he had with him, his wife(not named), age 66, a daughter, age 19, and "other children". Two sons resided in Weathersfield, another in Princeton and probably in Hull, Mass., another at Hague, then in Springfield, VT., Walpole,NH., and a Grandson, Ezekiel, settled in Bradenton, Florida in 1838, and was a prominent Confederate. He apparently was born after his father had died. !He is the ancestor of the Florida Glazier branch, among others. The Pension files include letters from a Mrs. Elinor W. Barry, of Brattleboro, Vermont; the first, 1864, claimed that she was the only surviving child of Ebenezer Glazier; yet the son, John D.(sic."N".), was still living; she mentioned that "her grand-father, great-uncles, her father, and her brothers had all been in the service of their country." Thus the legend that the Glazier Family was one of few that had at least 4 generations, if not more, in the Revolutionary War. Her second letter, 1865, mentioned her age,64 or 69. Perhaps she did "embroider" the truth, eliminating her live brother, or she was not a member of the family; there is no record of an Elinor in this fragmentary family information.

Hi:

Do by any chance know if Morris was Jewish? If so, you may like this...
I have had this picture with my files for a while now because it is from the same location and we share the same last name I was researching. It is in my "Maybe yes-maybe no file."

Let me know if this or the census records I sent earlier are a match for your man. I am pretty sure about the census record. Double check the other family names on it to see if they match yours.
Do you have an account with Ancesty.com? What about Family Tree Maker. FTM is a fabulous program that I have used for about 8 years now. You can buy it at Ancestry.com, or any place that sells computer programs. Ancestry is more expensive and you'll have to pay extra for shipping.

Keep me up-to-date, okay?

Randy "Dee" Glazier
The death certificate of Charles G. Odell says he died December 6, 1907 age 76 years and 12 days. It further states that he was born in Vermont to Jacob Odell and Margaret Haskins. Jacob born in Ireland which I think is incorrect and Margaret born in Vermont. I think Jacob was born in Vermont too. Charles died in Kaukauna, Outagamie County, Wisconsin. Charles was married when he died so his wife Mariva A. was still living
Are Jacob’s parents Jeremiah Odell born 1769 in Vermont and Persis Glazier born 1771 in New Hampshire? Who are the parents of Margaret Haskins according to some born Jan 31,1812 in East Rupert, Bennington County Vermont?
Joe G. Glazier was actually my grandfather. His middle initial stands for Gordon, not Guilford. As far as I know his family was always in Georgia - back for generations. I'm sorry that this is not who you're looking for, but it was interesting to see his name come up on a Google search. Good luck!

Fantastic! My email is kathyglazier@yahoo.com
I know when Abe came here from Russia he came with
2 brothers and 1 sister who supposedly settled in
Baltimore though we don't have any direct evidence yet.
Abe died at work. He worked on the railroad the last couple
years of his life and was decapitated in an accident. Abe
was jewish but not necessarily active. Ida and Joseph Smiths daughter was named Amanda and she was born in Logan county.
Ida's mothers name was Hannah Ross and thats where the massive amount of land came from was on that side of the family going back to the Wagoneers. As far as I know the land deal has never been settled in court. But I don't know that 100%.
What death certificates do you have? I have Daves, Nancys and the death certificate for Paris. I have the birth record for Paris. I have several draft registration cards and different marriage licenses. Are you in West Virginia?
I also have some censuses with different family info.
What grave sites have you found?
I will send you the file I have but I will need your regular e-mail address as you can not send a .pdf file on this site. My address is chuck5373@aircanopy.net.

Ida's sister Nancy Jane Moore was married to my half first cousin twice removed, Polemus Blankenship of Wayne County so you see that I am not directly related. I am looking into the family of Thomas Patterson Moore, Jr. for another researcher and saw your entry.

I have looked all over the West Virginia site but can't come up with too much on William Lewis, Abraham Glazier or Joseph Smith. Same thing with Ida, although I have a lot of data on her children. I found several Glazier death certificates and a few grave sites in the last few days.

Once I get your email address and finish my notes I will send you my file for your review. I welcome corrections and additions, especially pictures.

Chuck Blankenship

Ida and Joseph are buried in Huntington in the same cemetary
as David, Nancy and Paris. I actually found Ida's grave by accident. Her tombstone says Glazier. I do have Ida's death certificate but have had trouble locating it. She died in the 1960's. Joseph Smith died before she did. I know Abe is from Russia. He also was fluent in english. He owned a farm in Wayne county free and clear. When Ida married William Lewis, she married him in her fathers house. I haven't been able to find any record of divorce or death certificate for William Lewis so I'm not sure what happened there. Ida loved to drink. When Dave and Nancy died their children were put in an orphanage until the various relatives could pick them up. The family refused to allow any of the children to live with Ida because they considered her unfit because she liked to drink. lol
Are you a family member? How are you related? Let me know what all you have exactly and I can give you what I have that you don't and vice versa.

I am also interested in this family and I have some information but not a lot. Abraham Glazier was the second husband of Ida P. Moore, whose first husband was William Lewis who she married in Wayne County, WV in 1889. She was married to Abraham in the 1900 census and to a fellow named Joseph Patterson Smith in the 1910 census. As far as I know there was no issue form the Lewis marriage but she had 8 children with Abraham, and one with Joseph Smith. There are several death certificates for the children of Ida and Abe but I can not find a death date for Ida or any of her husbands.

I just found your post re: Edgars father who went to Utah but never had his or his wifes name, so thank you for that! My great grandfather would be Charles Wilford Glazier, my Grandfather (his son) would be Lyle Glazier. They moved to Huron SD when Lyle was a boy. When Lyle was married they all moved to Toronto SD where my father Bill Gene Glazier and I too, graduated from High School. They are all gone now. Just me, 2 brothers, and one sister left. Feel free to email me at bglazier61@aol.com

The family eventually moved to Toronto, South Dakota where I lived from my birth in 1961 to 1979 when I left for college.

Edward Ambrose Glazier of Illinois born 1853

I am looking for info regarding the parents and grandparents of Edward Ambrose Glazier born 10-10-1853 in what I believe to be either Andalusia, Edgington, or Reynolds Illinois. I believe he was married to a Mary R. Brandenburg (born 11-24-1858) in Rock Island (county or township) on Feb. 5, 1873. The only info that I have says Edgars father left (possibly for Utah) when little Edgar was only 2 years old.

No I did not, infact I had tremendous difficulty in finding out anything at all about Vashti before coming across the Slingo family site which was very helpful. My e-mail is farijl@aol.com if you want to contact me again. Best wishes, Julia
