Hi,

I may be part of your extended family tree. I come from the following line:

I think it started with William and Mary Goat of Norwich who had...

William and...

Samuel Goat, born 1803 in Norwich who married Margaret Cox and they had...

Samuel, William, James, Robert, Thomas, Frederick and...

Charles Maximillian Robespierre Goat, born 1849 in Norwich who married Mary Jane Rogers and they had...

Robert J, Mary Jane, Sarah Besant and...

Margaret Goat, born 1881 in Birkenhead who married Joseph Wolfson.

Do any of these names relate to your tree as I do have a fair bit of info on the other siblings listed above.

Hi
My friend's maiden name is Goate. Her father is John Arthur Goate born in 1938 in London. His father was John James Goate born abt 1897 - he was a 'rag and bone' man. I don't know where he was born, sorry. John James' father was Alfred Goate but I don't have any more info on him as yet.

There may be a connection to your family but I don't have a lot of info.

If anything sounds familiar, please get in touch. My friend and I would be pleased to hear from you if you think you may be related.

Thanks
Victoria
Yes our Great Grandfathers may have been brothers. I don't have a lot of info. about my great grandfather, I do know that he was born in about 1864 in Sudbury, Suffook. He moved around alot because he had a horse and cart (taxi driver) and later had a taxi cab (car). They moved to Watford and had my Grandad in 1906 but then at sometime moved back to London and then eventually back to Watford (he may of moved to Watford because like you say he had some family in St Albans?) He died aged 58 in Watford and that is where he is buried. My grandad and mum grew up in Watford and they lived there until 1945.

I think my great grandfather, Nathan and yours were brothers. Nathan also moved to Kentish town and they seemed to have a Carters business. My Grandfather moved to St Albans where my mother was born. Are we connected?

Hi
My great grandfather was Harry Charles Goat born in Sudbury, Suffolk (in 1864) who then moved to Kentish Town, London and married his first wife, when widowed then moved to Watford, Herts., with his 2nd wife. There doesnt seem to be many Goats in the country and Im sure we are all related some how as our ancesters seem to all come from Norfolk/Suffolk. I don't really know of any direct connection but if I found out anything I will contact you.

My name is Alice Goat(e) born in Oklahoma, U.S. I am a full-blood Creek Indian. My ancestors came on the trail of tears from Georgia. I can trace my lineage back to the late 1700's thru Indian census and rolls. Looking for anyone that may know of mix marriages?

Am researching GOAT family who originally lived in Nowich, Norfolk UK who then moved to Birkenhead. Am in touch with some family members, but is there anyone else out there who may have a connect with us. Some of our forbears were named after radicals of the day....
