I can't find him after 1860 when he was living with his parents in Pulaski Co., Ky. I found information that says he might have been a Methodist minister in Indiana possibly in Pike Co.
According to what I have found, it is the same family. What I have found, his mother was Rhoda Miller born in 1807 and his father was William V Godby born in 1807. I have his wife listed as Hanner Margaret Trout according to the census and Jane M as one of his dughters from the same. I would appreciate and gladly share my info with you.

My husband is the grandson of Georgia Ann Godby, daughter of Henry Godby and (?), who later married Mary Lowe. I am unable to find any information on Georgia's mother other than she was Cherokee Indian. My husband's father was Tom M Johnson who was Georgia's last child. His mother was Virginia White Johnson, daughter of Edgar Edmon and Anna White. Any help anyone can provide in either family line will be appreciated as I have had a very hard time coming up with much help in my search.

I am the daughter of Donald Godbey granddaughter of Homer Godbey, great granddaughter of Alfred S Godbey and great-great granddaughter of William and Hanner. The were all born in the Jackson County West Virginia. (Virginia before WV was formed) William J was born about 1827 and Hanner M. was born about 1826. The are buried in Jackson County West Virginia. The court house in Ripley (Jackson County) West Virginia would have a lot of information.

Godbey DNA Project Update

Yesterday we received our 5th set of DNA results in the Godby DNA Project at Family Tree DNA.

These new results are an exact match with our other 4 and prove beyond a doubt the traditional link between the Casey/Pulaski Co., KY and Logan Co., WVA/Montgomery Co., VA groups of Godbys.

If there are any Davie Co., NC Godbys that would consider joining, please do. We need to prove that traditional link as well!
I'm afraid that I have lost most of my research, but has far as I can remember the 2nd Thomas left every thing to his wife. The VA state archives has his both of his wills the 1st one was written because he traveled back and forth to England. While filed it was never probated. His second will was made shortly before his death and was probated.

There is no mention of his second wife's name. They lived in Otterville, MO. Does anyone know the name of this woman and the date of their marriage? Thanks for any help.
