The Richmond, VA Goddin family is a collateral line for me. The Goddins I am researching are John Marshall Goddin (1835-1886) who married Mary E. Morris (1838-1873). Both are buried a stone's throw from Wellington Goddin grave. John marshall Goddin was sone of Issac A. and Elizabeth Ann (Davis) Goddin. Mary E. (Morris) Goddin was sister to my gr-gr-gr-grandfather John James Morris, b.c. 1812, Buckingham, Co., VA, liv. in Richmond in 1850. From there the trail grows cold. My greatest genealogical challenge so far. Hoping Goddin family researchers may have some info on my Morris group.

Found letter of Ella Sands to Mrs. W. Goddin at JDR Library, VA

Recently I found that a letter Ella Va. Goddin Sands wrote to her mother, Elizabeth Poval Winston Goddin (Mrs. Wellington Goddin), on July 7, 1851 is at the John D. Rockerfeller, Jr. Library in their Special Collections. I am working on obtaining a copy.

Also the library has a book on the genealogy of the Goddin family. If anyone is interested they can go to the library's website and obtain the author's name and catalog number.

Hi,

I don't have a photo of the grave of Paul Goddin, but I can get it for you. Do you know what section he is buried in in Hollywood?

Write to me at mycatrigsby@verizon.net with any details. We go to Hollywood about once a month.

All the best.

Sandy Satterwhite

Hi Sandy... I just ran across your post.
Do you have a photo of the grave of Paul Tyler Goddin, buried in Hollywood Cemetery, Richmond, VA?

He was born 14 Dec 1885 in Richmond. Died 6 April 1947 in Washington, DC. Son of Edward Curtis Goddin and Virgilia Wilson Tyler.

He married Sarah Lillian Elizabeth Creamer on 15 Nov 1911 in Norfolk, VA. They had 3 daughters. I have more information on the daughters, if you are interested.

I am not researching the Goddin ancestors, but would like to contact any descendents of Paul & Sarah Creamer Goddin... as their grandchildren would be my fourth cousins.
I am related to Sarah's maternal ancestors...
Goddins of NC and FL

Looking for the NC county of origin for Reddick Goddin (b 1830) and his sister, Nancy Jane Goddin Callahan (b 1827). The two moved to Holmes County, FL and their descendants married into the Melvin, Simmons, Forehand, Mayo, and Bland families (among others). Would love to figure out where in NC they're from!
