well from colombia my fathers name is victor godoy my grandfathers name is jose vicente godoy and my great grandfather came from venzuela migrated to colombia and had 5 wifes and 42 kids so one of the people you are looking for might be him im not quite shure of his name though but ill get back to you on that. one fact i do know from looking it up is that most godoys have an ancestry from either france spain and portugal and the oldest use of the name is in portugal in a tomb that can date back to the 11th-12th century and the crest is a patern of blue and orange in a checkery pattern thats all i knbow for know

i read all of the post on this website, and was curious if anyone had any information that you could pass on to me about the godoy families on my fathers side.
all i know is that my father was from merida, mexico ( yucatan) my great granfather and his father are from the same place. however, i have heard from family that they came from spain or germany.
can anyone give me insight or information that could help me.

in regards to the death of your grandfather at a young age, i have found that four generations in my direct lineage have also passed away at similar ages ranging from 30-40 years of age..and was wondering what age your grandfather passed away?

Never met my father, trying to find him his full name is Jorge Godoy Kotter, last known time my mother saw him was in 1968, in Dallas Texas. He played piano as a proffesion. If anyone that is from Guatamala City please let me know if you know someone that fits this name, age is probably in 80s

I hope youre still out there and looking. I've got the family book in front of me. I have a paper showing that Margarita Godoy was married to Jose Maria Morales. I know they were brothers so thats where the mix up was. Their children were
Alfredo Born Jan. 1873
Juan Maria Born Sept.3, 1878
Eugenio Born December 25, 1884
I think they may have had a rough time of it being the last of the Indians in the Unided States.

Thats interesting that you have family in Puerto Rico with the name Godoy. My father was born in Puerto Rico to a Nicholas Jose Godoy and Delfina Maldonado, and only knew one other Godoy, Belto Godoy.

There is a Ruben Godoy located in Perris, CA. My grandfather's name was Rafael Godoy. My father's name was Reyes Godoy. I was born 1969 in L.A. but now live in Idaho. I found Ruben Godoy by going online to white pages.com and just typing in the last name Godoy. Hope you find him.

as far back as we've researched it our last name comes from Germany then into Europe, in Spain some are royalty with our last name.My father who's 81 years old (san jose) says his great grandfather was kidnapped at age 12 from Argentina then sold and raised in Mexico, where he kept his own last name. My father grew up in Zacatecas, Mexico.

Mi nombre es Jorge Eugenio Godoy y tambien ando en busca de las raices de mi apellido Godoy, soy de Guatemala.
Te cuento que he hecho varias averiguaciones y entre ellas que mis ancestros Godoy vinieron a Guatemala de Mexico, por tradicion de familia siempre se ha hablado que vinieron de Oaxaca. Tengo el nombre de Don Pedro Martin Godoy y supuestamente su padre fue quien vino de Mexico, nacio en el año de 1776 y murio en 1837 en Amatitlan, Guatemala. Tambien tengo el nombre de Enrique Godoy nacido en 1773 en Amatitlan, Guatemala. Enrique tuvo un hijo al que le puso por nombre Ignacio Godoy, Curiosamente Don Manuel Godoy, Principe de la Paz tuvo un hijo que se llamaba tambien Ignacio. En nestra familia Godoy han habido varios nombres que se repiten a lo largo de generaciones, por ejemplo Eugenio, yo soy el quinto. Otros nombres son: Jose Maria, Rafael, Enrique, Nolasco, etc.
Mucho agradecere si me pudieras proporcionar alguna informacion, ya que no tengo la conexion España-Mexico-Guatemala.
