Finally found the detail of William Kneebone, he died of Typhoid.

Conditions on the gold fields were cramped and unsanitary - an outbreak of typhoid at Buckland Valley in 1854 killed over 1,000 miners.

HI, thanks for your reply.
I did some more digging after writing to you and discovered that the Emily Kneebone who married Thomas Holman was in fact born in Cornwall. "Our" Emily Kneebone became Emmeline Rolls Kneebone and married Baseden. Why her name changed, I don't know but Mary also became Minnie! We weren't the only ones that incorrectly connected Emily to the Holman's and not the Baseden's, so don't despair!

Yes Emily Kneebone was the 2nd daughter to John and Catherine, She was born 1859 in ELDORADO reg #21866.

I just found out what you said that surprise me about Emmaline Rolls born 1860 counted from age and year of death.
Wonder why her birth name was Emily.
I may have some mistakes on my tree.

I just came across your post from some years ago. I have just started researching the kneebone family. I am interested in your opinion of the children of JOhn Kneebone and Catherine Bassett Williams. There is a birth record for a Emily Kneebone in 1859 to JOhn Kneebone and Catherine Williams of Eldorado. This Emily possibly went onto marry Thomas Holman and died in Clunes. A newspaper notice i found says that Emeline Rolls kneebone was the 2nd daughter of JOhn Kneebone and Catherine Bassett Williams. All the siblings match and she married Robert Baseden and died in 1944. I cannot find her birth. Do you have any thoughts on the matter. thanks Joanne

It has been awhile since you posted this so you might already know that most of Joseph and Ellen's chidren ended up in Anaheim, CA. Edward still has one living child that I am aware of and her name is Kathy. Edith's married last name was Kampf. I have pictures and additional information along with an almost complete family tree of the Goldworthy's.

I've been trying to find the descendants of Martin Goldsworthy for few years without success. I'm glad to have you here with your information I'm looking for, to bring all the puzzles together.
Do you have any information about Martin's background and his family in Redruth, Cornwall before came to Australia from UK or Brazil?
I've been researching on Martin for about 6 yrs with help from my contacts in Wales also descended to Martin. He was my ggg-grandfather to my grandmother's side of her family in Clunes.

Hi Dolores - Your Grandfather Hezekiah is my dads, Great Uncle. My Dad is named Clement and his dad was Clement also. Yes we have some information, photos,etc. I would be very happy to get some information to you, as well as get some info from you. I live in Lake Linden so does most of my family. I know your grandfather was on the fire department when he lived in Lake Linden. I sure would like to call you or if you have video on your computer we could do that also. I am on face book, and so are my parents.

I have always had an interest in my grandfather, Hezekiah Goldsworthy who married Christine MacDonald in Lake Linden. They had a son, my dad,also named Hezekiah Goldsworthy born Dec 21, 1905. My grandparents divorced soon after his birth, and Christine married Peter Jack Pusch. Peter adopted dad, and he was renamed Donald Allen Pusch. My dad joined the navy at 17, and when in San Francisco tried to contact Hezekiah who seemed to have no interest in dad. I always felt bad for Dad, but my dad did not dwell on things of that nature, he always considered Jack his father, and he was a loving grandfather to my brother and I. The sad part is, dad grew up having no relatives on his fathers side and remained an only child. I visited Anaconda Mt, where Dad was born,but didn't really come up with any info.I always felt a connection to hezekiah Sr., I have one picture of Hezekiah when Dad was born, and I and he share a very similar profile (oh great, I look like a man) Any info would be great.

I found this website and your email which was sent in 1999. No doubt you have followed up the Goldsworthy family members since then. I have the South Australian Births, Deaths & Marriages CD's and have discovered John Thomas Goldsworthy and Catherine Arundell Cawrse had 14 children in South Australia when they moved here, Edwin Hann being one of them. I am happy to research further information if you wish.

I just saw your entry on the Goldsworthy's of Sithney & Breage.
My Goldsworthy ancestors also come from these areas around the same time as yours. There is a possibility there is a connection.
My ancestors are Joseph Goldsworthy (b c1806)and Mary Dunne (b c1810) They had 10 children - Elizabeth 1829, Grace 1832, Mary 1835, Eliza 1838, Joseph 1839, William 1841, John 1844, Thomas 1847, James 1849 & Emkily 1851.
Joseph 1839 is my GGGrandfather wo migrated to Australia in 1873.

Goldsworthy family photo album from Bremerton, Washington

There is an old 1800's velvet photo album of the George Goldsworthy family at an antique store in Gorst, near Bremerton, Washington. Lots of cabinet photos in it, none with names. Inside the front page is inscribed, "George Goldsworthy". I've done a little research, and have found this family information: George Goldsworthy b1872 in Illinois, in 1899 he married Jessie McKenzie also born in Illinois in 1876. George's parents were born in England, and in 1900 Georges brother Samuel was living with them in Washington. George and Jessie had three children all born in Washington, Burton (1900 - 1903), Donald (1905-1987 d Las Vegas), and Mary Esther (later to marry an Eldin Winder) (b1911-1985 d Bremerton, Washington). Would pick the album up, but they want $50 for it. If you think this is your family and would like me to pick it up for you, or get you the name/contact info for the antique shop, let me know. Its out of the way and it looks like things have been in there for decades, so i imagine this will be there for years to come. jcharb8@msn.com

Seem nobody know exactly what happened to Martin Goldsworthy's last seen or heard or whatever happened to him. According to Diwrnod's researches attempted to contact Brazil Embassy, researchers, mining offices etc. without success. Few other descendants tried the same way finding out what happened to Martin.
I'm trying to find which ship/sand passenger lists to Australia from USA or Brazil or Argentina??? Could be working as a mariner?
I have his Will, marriage and death certificate that matched but his age doesn't makes sense.
Does anyone know where I can find the passenger lists and mariner record from USA or other foreign port maybe Panama?

I am researching my husband's line. He is a gggrandson of Ralph Goldsworthy. His line goes like this:

Ralph Goldsworthy (1793-1871) m. Elizabeth ___*

Catherine Jane Goldsworthy (1820) m. Richard Michell (1818)
(I have a copy of the family bible page showing their chidren)

*I didn't know Elizabeth's maiden name, but the family "legend" tells me that the Michell family was related to Sir Humphrey Davy. But note the difference in spelling.

I have Death Certificate for Ralph and marriage certificate for Richard and Catharine. I have more information.

I have been following one thread of the tree, which has Marys in there, but not your dates, but am not sure if there were others from a different line of the tree. My connection, had, I believe, a mother called Mary, so maybe I have others that could have been related to your one.

Jno Thomas Goldsworthy married Isabella Janet Edwards in 1902. They had six children but a newspaper report said they had 9. Thomas died in 1921 in Mansfield and is buried here also.

Paul Goldsworthy who went to Western Australia was also a son of Richard & Mary. This family is part of my Goldsworthy research. When Richard emigrated from Redruth, Cornwall he firstly went to America with his eldest brother, but the news of gold finds attracted him to Victoria where he joined another brother and sister Matilda.
A third brother died the day after her arrived in Melbourne.
A sister-in-law also came out with her son, following her other sons.
In all there was quite an exodus of the family from Redruth.

My grandfather was Allan Goldsworthy of Kaniva (predominantly) but the family moved around alot in Western Victoria.

Is he any relation to the Stawell/St Arnaud Goldsworthys? There are a few in the Geelong are now.
