I am April Goodan. Looking to see where my roots are. My Father is Brian Keith Goodan. He has 2 brothers: Albert David Goodan and Barry Goodan. Their father is David Albert Goodan who married Betty Joy Kynett. Later remarried to Bishop. and from what I was told he was from Montana. any info would be great. I want to know the meaning of my last name and where my family came from. I was told we were from Norway but I am unsure. Thank you so much

Well, it is a snowy February day; the county is shut down. So, here I am at my own computer. I have a large database of Goodans, including your family. We are third cousins, as we are both descended from Levi W. Goodan. You through Phillip and me through John. I would be happy to share information.

My maiden name is Goodan. My father was Edward Hamilton Goodan, Jr. from Morehead, KY born in 1919. His dad was Edward Hamilton and I am not sure where he was born in KY. Our line is dying out. My brother Ed has no children. My mom has tried to put together some of the history. My grandfather was also an only child, I think. There was a Sam and a Philip not too far back.

My name is Ruth Ann goodan, i am the wife of Phillip Goodan, his father was Beckham Goodan and mother was Cora Fultz Goodan. We has two sons ,Jesse Beckham Goodan and Joseph Lee goodan . Joseph has one son Patrick Alan Goodan . Joseph was married in 2000 of nov. He was later divorced in 2004. He lives in carter county . It was nice to see your message.

I am seeking information on a Stephen Underwood who was born in VA or KY. He married an Eady (Edith or Edyth) Goodan. He was born early 1800s. I believe they moved from KY to Calloway County, MS then back again. Some of their children may have remained in MS.

i have been researching my warner tree for a while and came across a grover cleveland warner who married a gwendolyn goodan of weld county, colorado. later they moved on to los angeles with grover's mother, catherine (terry) warner. if this is anyone's line i have some info on the warner side as well as the terry line. thank you for yuor time.

S369 in Volume 1 Stephen UNDERWOOD of Monroe Co., MO and of Carter Co., KY (son of James J83), b. ca 1815-16 in Madison Co., VA; m. 4 Feb 1840 in Carter Co., KY to Edith "Eady" GOODAN (dau. of Daniel GOODAN and Mary "Polly" ___, b. ca 1819 in KY); they fled Carter Co., KY about the time of the worst trouble involving his father and older brothers and settled for a time in Monroe Co., MO, then later returned to Carter Co., KY where, according to "Underwood Families in America", both later died; had the following children: William A., Malvina, Philip Strother, John Wesley, Emaline, Amanda, Franklin Pierce "Frank", Asa. It appears that he moved his family to MO between Aug and Oct 1868

Dorothy: Have we communicated? I notice you are a Goodan with "an". Yes, I do know about the Goodans in Olive Hill. As a matter of fact, that is my direct family line. They are mostly descended from Levi W. Goodan who located in Greenup County, KY before a portion of the county formed Carter County. There was just a big family reunion there over the Labor Day Weekend. I did not get to go since my son had open-heart surgery in August and we stuck close to home.

From whom are you descended? Once more, have we talked? Do I have your family line?
