Hi Pamela
I wrote to you sometime ago without success. However I have now found some additional information which may link our families so thought I would try again.
My Great X4 Uncle and Aunt, William Goodwins and Mary Ann Holden moved from Norfolk, England to London England around 1840. One of their 6 children was William Goodwins born in Norfolk in 1834. I believe that I have found him on the censuses living in London married to a lady called Ellen who was born in Cornwall, Norfolk. I believe that William and Ellen maybe the parents of William Ernest Goodwins.
William Ernest Goodwins was Leslie Goodwins father (i.e. your Grandfather).
If you have any information on your family history or would like to help investigate this possible link please get in touch.
Susan Goodwins

Hi Barbara
I wrote to you sometime ago with success so I thought I would give it another go
Do you know who William Ernest Goodwins parents were?
I am reasearching my family name GOODWINS (with the's') My GreatX4 Uncle William Goodwins moved from Norfolk, England to London around 1840 with his wife Mary Ann Holden. They had six children. one of whom was William.
it is my belief (yet to be confirmed) that William married a lady called Ellen (possible Vine) from Cornwall, England and that William and Ellen Goodwins are William Ernest Goodwins parents (they were living next door to each other in 1891). If you think their maybe a connection please get in touch with me. Susan Goodwins

Hello Pamela - my surname is GOODWINS too!
I haven't (as yet) found any connections between our families -mine originates from Norfolk, England. We have researched back to the late 1700's .
How far back have you researched? It would be interesting to compare notes to see if there are any links. Whilst Goodwin is very common - they are not many of us Goodwins around! - Susan

Is your name GOODWINS (Not Goodwin)?

My Great Great Great Grandfather - Anthony Goodwins, from Lammas, Norfolk, England changed his family name from Goodwin to Goodwins in the mid-1800's
We have traced many but not all of his decendants.
We know he had brothers who also changed their name to Goodwins (James and William), but have no trace of any of their familys.

My own small branch of the family still lives in Norfolk.

We would love to hear from anyone else who shares our name.

Grandfather's name was William Ernest Goodwins 66 Narford Road, Upper Clapton, England. Grandmother would be Sarah Ann Moss Goodwins. My father was Leslie Goodwins, born in London, England on 9-17-1899. He was a movie director in Hollywood. I am looking for a 1/2 sister named Leslie Sue Goodwins. She was adopted in the late 1950's by an aunt, I beleive, and moved back east somewhere. I beleive she was born in the Los Angeles, Ca. area, possibly Hollywood.
My mother's name would be Gertrude Kampe and I am from a family of 9 children, including Leslie Sue, they would be Joel, Norm, Cindy, Robert, Stephen, Pamela, and Charles.
