I am looking for info on our grandmother, Maude Randall. She was born Scott county, MO. 9Aug 1905 and died 1Feb 1980. After the death of Charles she remarried to a Mr.Clinton. Family says that she was reburried beside grandpa Charles. Does anyone out there have any info or pics of the Randalls or Gorda/Gordy line. Many thanks

Hey...I think you contacted me abt a wk ago on a post. I am so sorry for deleting so much. We have the same line. Charles Gorda b. 1892 m. Maude Randall. Thru Julian Gorda m. Mary Polly Merritt. hello there. I am also researching the Gorda line. I have a Hampton Pete Gorda b. Nov 1867, Stokes Co. NC. M.Laura Moore. I am still looking. Do you have any photos? I have been looking everywhere on the net and many of the old thrift stores..but no luck so far. Will share all. There is a site on the net Archives of MO. it has a lot of the older birth and death available on line. take care

Hi.. My father's name was Bailey Gentry Gorda and was born July 10, 1935 somewhere near Potosi, MO. and passed away on March 3, 1985 in Tampa, Florida. I have a cousin, Lon Gorda and he has done our lineage and there is a Julian Gordy also in my ancestry. I would love any information that anyone may have..and will share any that I have as well.

I am also researching this line. My Great-Great Grandmother was Betty Jane Gorda Reed married to Joel Franklin Reed in 1896.

Betty Jane Gorda was born 12 Oct 1880 in Germanton, NC and died 28 July 1965 in Esther, MO. Her parents were Mary & Julian Gorda.

Joel Franklin Reed was born 26 Apr 1866 in Madison County, IL and died 14 Dec 1933.

My Great Grandmother Malissie Reed McCance was Alice and Bessie's sister.

I also am researching the Gorda line of St. Francois County, MO. My great great grandmother was Betty Jane Gorda b. 12 Oct 1880 in NC died 28 July 1965 in St. Francois County, MO.

Her brother was Bailey A. Gorda b. 24 August 1866 in NC and died 6 Oct 1933 in IL.

Her parents were Julian Gordy and Mary Merritt. I have conflicting information that Bailey A. Gorda's father might have been John Bennett her first husband. There is a Census image floating around with the conflicting info.

Am happy to share what info, photos, and obits I do have.

Starting to work again on this line. Found a 20 yr old female Florence in St Louis working as a cook in a "Old Ladies Home" along with a 1 yr old son Eugene. Is this Florence d/o Hampton and Laura? Mary Gorda married William Acie Dalton 40 yrs her senior in 1915. they had three
children after William died in 1921 nothig on her or the children. in 1910 Riley and Florence are living with grandparents Riley Moore. Charles in 1910 is living with his uncle Baley Gordo. The others nothing yet

I saw you post on the Gorda Surname board about Pete Gorda and Laura Moore. I have a little information on the Moore line that I would love to trade for the Gorda line. Please let me know if you are so inclined.

Pete Gorda married LAURA MOORE, daughter of RILEY MOORE and MARY MCFARLAND. She was born 1870.

Children of PETE GORDA and LAURA MOORE are:
CHARLES GORDA.
JOSEPH GORDA.
RILEY GORDA.
FLORENCE GORDA.
CLARA GORDA.

Cosondra, my mother and you are second cousins via Bessie Reed. My great grandmother is Bessie's sister Alice. I am still researching the GORDA/ REED lines. I have Bessie's father and mother as Joel F Reed born April 11, 1866 in Madison County, Illinois and Bettie Jane Gorda born 12 Oct 1880 in North Carolina. I noticed that your family has known Joel as Joseph. Have you any information on the Reeds beyond him? I can not locate his parents. They have been claimed to be James Reed and Neoma Dover by some and my Grandmother states, that it is related to the Reeds of the infamous Donner/Reed party. Would like to share what I have. I have extensive information on the Gorda/Gordy lines.
