I just found this thread 11 years after the original making, but I believe my family ties into this one. My Great Great Grandmother Was born Julia Durek on 03/16/1882. Now the word I got is that she Immigrated from Austria when she was 2(the records seem to confirm that). She married Stanley Suchocki(Not sure when?) Grandma Julia passed away on 02/04/1970 in Saginaw, Michigan. My great grandma Anna Suchocki and all of her siblings were born in Carrollton. Does this seem to match? my email is masterscorpio77@gmail.com
Wladyslaw GORKA son of Adam GORKA & Marianna CZARNECKI

My grandfather Wladyslaw Gorka came from Galician area of Poland in the 1890's. His baptism certificate is difficult to read since it is in Latin with Polish names. According to the record his parents were:Adam Gorka(father) son of Jacob Gorka and Agnes Rapala and Marianna Czarnecki(mother) daughter of Slanislaw Czarnecki and Sophia Janicka.

When he came to the US he spelled his name Gurka. My uncle had his surname as Gorki on his baptism certificate. Later the family spelled the surname as Gorka.

Theresia GORKA/Gurka family & Walter KONDRATICK > PA

Hi...I have been reading several of the posts. I am the great-granddaughter of Theresia Gorka(Gurka). She married Walter (Vasil) Kondratick and came to the US in 1888 and settled in Wilkes-Barre, PA. From the immigration records it appears that she was from or may have been from a villiage near Wieliczka, Poland. Also, one of my grandfather brother's ss card has his birth place list as Cegorky (my best guess at the spelling). Also, from what I have found in other records like my grandfather's ss card, I know that they were from Galicia. I was wondering if any had any additional information. Feel free to email me directly.

My great-grandfather Jan Gorka, b. around 1900, married Walentyna nee Wilczynska and they had at least 8 children: Jozef, Antoni, Mikolaj, Stanislaw, Franciszek, Teresa, Kazimierz and my grandfather Waldemar, born in 1925. There was a family reunion for Walentyna's 100 birthday. It's possible that Teresa emigrated to the US. I'd appreciate any help.

I don't know if we are in the same family line or not but it is worth a shot. Besides, the borders in europe change so much around that time. She settled in Wilkes-Barre, PA. I would like to talk to you and see if we are in the same family line...send me an email....I am looking forward to hearing from you.
Christine..

He married Mary Brozyna and they had three children Leon(1903-2003), Johanna Sophia(1907-1967) and a third daughter who died in childhood. Wladyslaw(Walter) had a brother(?) Henry who married Julia(?). They had at least one dauther Marilyn. These people attended my mothers funeral, but I don't know who they are. Wladyslaw was educated and played the violin in the Newark Symphony. He was afraid they(?) would find him and kill him. He did not want his name on the gravestone. Any ideas?

I'm finding it hard to trace further back into Poland.I hope to visit someday. My family settled in Waterbury Conn. I live on Cape Cod.
Any information on Marcel Lukazewski? Dad didn't go into much detail about him. Any idea who may have posted the message that i responed to? Merry Christmas to you! Luke
