My Grandmother was Elizabeth gospel who went to Canada with Edward Stennett. Her Mother was Susannah Milner Ethel.They had 7 children 2 died young.The only gospels I have met are Daisy and Peggy daughters of Walter and Mabel daughter of Harold Gospel. Do you have any old pictures of these people. I am trying to get all My Canadian cousins to send me their information so I can Add it for you as I am new to this.

I too am related to Leonard Hodge Gospel. He is my grandfather. I am his son Les' daughter and live down in Victoria. Peter Gospel gave me an e-mail address for you and your wife but I must have got it a little bit wrong as it wouldn't send. I'd love to hear from you re the family as I'm sure you are aware my grandmother was a strange one when it came to family and as such I know very little about the family. What I do know has come from the U.K. via both Peter Gospel and Derek Wileman.

I'm trying to trace my father's family to continue my family tree. I know the immediate family but am seeking help in reseaching my grandfathers family. My grandfather was LEONARD HODGE/S GOSPEL, he married a canadian woman by the name of Agnes Harvie at Lindfield, New South Wales. My dad grew up knowing nothing of the backgrounds of either parent, so I have no info on either but would love any help.

The parents of Leonard Hodge GOSPEL were George William GOSPEL and Amelia Hannah EVANS. They were married 1883 in Sydney. George William had emigrated from England in 1882 and Amelia joined him in 1883.
They both emigarted from Bridlington in Yorkshire.
All the people below are from Yorkshire.
The parents of George William were John GOSPEL (1819-1871) and Elizabeth HODGE (1826-1906) his 2nd wife. They were married in 1847.

John Gospel's parents were William GOSPEL(1787-1838) and Jane STAINTON(1797-1831) his first wife.
William's parents were William GOSPEL (c1751 - 1847) and Elzabeth ROBINSON (nee TAYLOR)(1759-1832) This William was not born in Yorkshire and 3 of us have been trying for 20 years to find him.

Leonard Hodge GOSPEL (1891 - 1967) had 3 brothers all born in Australia:
George William GOSPEL (b.1884)
John Lawrence GOSPEL (1887-1953)
Clarence Hubert GOSPEL (1895-1908)
John L. GOSPEL had a daughter Laura GOSPEL (married Leslie KEANE d.1994). Laura (called Billie) has great grand children. She also had a brother Gibson John GOSPEL.
