My great-grandparents were George Graham, Sr. and Barbara Melbourne, of Cumerland, England, who immigrated to Centre Co, PA, and on to Iowa. My grandfather was George Graham, Jr. I am in contact with several descendants of other children of this family.

Although my Grahams predate yours in Carlisle, I had a GGgrandfather that left Carlisle with his family in the early 1830's. David Graham was married to Catherine McGreavy and had the following children: John, Allen, Edward, Rachel and Sarah. He was a weaver before emigrating to Canada and then the U.S., living in NY and then on to Wisconsin. His son, Edward, went on to homestead in Nebraska. I am a descendant of Edward.

David was originally born at Mount Farm, Kirklinton parish, Cumberland County on the Border of England and Scotland. He had 11 brothers, eight of whom probably survived to adulthood: John, Allen, Peter, Robert, William, Andrew, Joseph, Edward. Anyone who thinks they may be connected please contact me at wldwd6@aol.com

Hi - I realise this reply is quite a while after you posted this message.
I am researching the GRAHAM family from Carlisle, the only link I have at the moment is Isabella GRAHAM, b. circa 1803 and who married John Sidney HALL, who was born in ireland. They moved to Middlesbrough, Yorkshire between 1840-1845. Does this connect to any links you have?
Kind regards,
Gill

Gill,

The only data I have is what I included in my original post and I have learned nothing more about my Graham family since that time. I am therefore unable to confirm or deny that we have a link.

Thank you for posting your information.

Hello

Just seen your message, was it the Graham family who moved from cumbria to Middlesbrough or the other surname you are tracing? i am related to Graham's in Middlesbrough and they moved there middle to late 1800's.

HI
I'm trying to trace a relative called Stella Graham, who lived at 91 Marks Ave in Carlisle in 1959.....I'm sure there must be a connection between the names...
