Yes, I am still here. As I mentioned, I have no idea if the Graziani members of my family came from any area of Italy other than Bisceglie, Bari, Puglia. The Graziani family member that I have been in contact with remained in Italy. But those from the Ferrarese-Logoluso families settled in Fresno and Madera, CA. Thanks for responding.
Linda

Gilberto: Repeating names down through the generations is not specific only to the Graziani's, as I am sure you know. It creates a real nightmare....they were not very creative in naming their children. (My Graziani connection is from Bisceglia, Bari, Puglia, Italy. I'd love to know if there is any connection to the Jean Marie lineage.) The other half of my lineage is Spanish...they are just as bad, or worse. I have found interest in your various postings regarding the origins of the Graziani name...thank you for sharing.

Hi, Judy: From what part of Italy are your Graziani family roots. My grandmother's sister married a Graziani, but after my grandmother came to America, the Graziani family moved from Bisceglia, Bari to Otono (or Ortono). I don't know if any of that family came to America. As you know, sadly, everyone used the same names to name their children, so it's difficult to know if someone is who one thinks they are. I do not know if the Graziani family was originally from some area other than Bisceglia, Bari. I have been in contact with one of their great-grandsons, but he has not been very clear about any Graziani family members coming to America. And, YES, the Ellis Island site is wonderful and loaded with information. (I just wish some of the transcribers had been more careful: example: check out all the Lui's or Liu's that came from Italy. The word "son" was interpreted as the last name of Lui or Liu-forget which.) None-the-less, I'm eternally grateful for their efforts.

The Ellis Island site is very helpful.
If he was naturalized, you should try to find his papers. I think they are kept with the county he filed in. If not, you could try the National Archives. They also have census lists which could be helpful.
I'm sorry I haven't been checking this board. Since I retired I don't seem to have time. Married Elizabeth "Ella" Barkshadt, born 1874 Germany, died 1951 Memphis, TN. Their children which I know of were Vincent Jr., Norma, Richard, Albert F. born 1897, and Annie Margaret (my grandmother) born 1900. This is essentially all the information that I have. Hoping someone knows of this family. Thanks.

My grandfather was John F. Barkshadt. He was married twice. Mary Barkshadt and Sally Boltin Barkshadt. All are deceased. He had several brothers that lived in Memphis Tenn. I think they are deceased . You may want to search Barkshadts in those two states and contact them to se if they can help you. My grandfather was born in Germany and entered the US at Ellid Island. He died in 1929& was born in 1859. He is buried in Greenville SC.I fell sure there is some connection here because there are not that may Barkshadts around.

I left out the two states where my grandfather JF Barkshadt's relatives live. Check the Barkshadts in Atlanta Ga. and here are some in other parts of Ga. Elizabeth Barkshadt may be one of his sisters. I have tried to find some info on my grandfather but no sucess. The Barkshadt's in Ga had an address listed in the white pages site. I would like to know if you have any suces in finding your family. I know he had a brother Fred and William. There is a JA and a WC Barkshadt that you may find listed. They were his sons. JA lives in Kirkland Wa. and WC in Greenville SC but he is deceased.
