Dear Cody:
My Greers were Scot-Irish from County Down,
Ulster (Northern Ireland today). They landed in
Philadelphia and moved to the Valley of
Virginia, all before the American Revolution. Their son, John
Greer I, was in the
Battle of Point
Pleasant, also known as
Lord Dunmore's War, Oct., 1774.
His regiment later served in the
Battle of
Kings Mountain (S.C.).
