Bev,

My grandfather was Herman Gruis, Jr. of Buffalo Center, Iowa. He did not have a middle name. He was born in 1926. His father is Herman Gruis, Sr. and was married to a Grace Meinders, of Alexander.

I remember several years ago, my grandfather had found an obituary of another Herman Gruis. The weird part of the whole thing is this Herman Gruis in the obituary could have been my grandfather, Herman's twin.

We always believed there had to be a relationship somewhere.

My Grandfather's name was Herman Harm Gruis. Sr. He was born in 1889 and was married to Jennie Kuiper. My father then was Herman Harm Gruis, Jr. and was born in 1931. There were several Gruis lines and for some reason they didn't always communicate. The name association is interesting. Bev Gruis Gallagher

Bridgett, I am not sure if you are still with ansestry or not. My Great Grandmother was Jacoba Guis sister her maiden name was Harmana Ruiter. Harmana married my Gr. Grandfather Harm Christians. When Harm died your Gr. Grandparents took in my gr. uncle and raised him as one of their children. I am not sure how much info you have. If you would like to call me we could talk. 651-808-5883
