Hi, Robert,

The only information I have regarding my grandfather Francesco Guerra is his place of origin: Grumo Appula, Bari, Italy. Came to the USA around 1904(?) and married Rosa Errico in Mt. Vernon, New York in 1911. They had three sons, my father, Joseph, Angelo and Louis. They settled in Mt.Vernon and the Bronx, New York. I don't think there is a connection between our Guerras, or at least it doesn't seem like there is a connection.
Most sincerely,
Joanne

It has been really difficult to find any information on where the Estringel's came from and what they were doing in Mexico. Specifically do you know where Jose Santiago Estringel & Ma. Sixta Estringel were born? What was their original religion, nationality?

Best,
Paul

Does anyone have informatiom about Francisco Antonio Gomez De La Guerra, born in abt. 1683 in Aragon or Calabria, Spain? I'm researching my wifes family tree and trying to find the De La Guerras of Spain that are tied to her family tree the Guerras that relocated to Italy. They also have ties to DelaGuerres in France. Some years ago we visited the Santa Babara, California Mission and noticed there were De La Guerras interned in the cemetary. At the time a Senior Priest asked what are interest was in the De La Guerras and we told him the history of my wife's family and he said that was exacly the same history as the Santa Barbara De La Guerras. If you have any history connectiong your family to ours, please contact me.
Robert
robertwilson09@att.net

I'm looking into my wife's family history. At the time of the Spanish Inquisition, the family was living in Spain with the name of Guerra (1500) and some of the family went to France and adapted the name to LeGuerre. Prior to the French Revolution, three of the Frence brothers decided to spit-up the family to insure that some of the members would survive. One brother rejoined family in Barcelona, Spain as DeLaGuerra, one brother stayed in Paris France (LeGuerre) and a third brother went to Italy and became the Guerra family in Naples and Chiaromonte. Some family members also went to Martinique. My wife is descended from the Italian branch of the family and we have trace her ancestors to Chiaromente, Italy. But we dont't know much about the brothers that went to spain or the one that stayed in France Several years ago we lived in Santa Barbara, California. we spoke to the Priest at the Old Mission and asked about the De La Guerra burried in the Mission cemetary and their famiy history matched that of the Guerra family If anyone has a similar family history passed down in their famiy, from one generation to the next, usually verbally from mother to daughter we would love to hear from you.
Robert

I am looking into my wife's family history. At the time of the Spanish Inquisition, the family took the name of Guerra (1500) and some of them went to France and took the name Le Guerre.Prior to the French revolution three of the French brothers decided to split-up the family to insure that some member survived. One brother rejoined the family in Barcelona, Spain as De La Guerra, One brother stayed in France (Le Guerre) and the third brother went to Italy and became the Guerra family in Naples and Chiaromonte. Some family members also went to Martinique. My wife descended from the Italian branch of the family and we have been able to trace her ancestors to Chiaromonte, Italy. Specifically to Giuseppe Pasquale Guerra (1750). But we don't know much about the brother that went to Spain or the one that stayed in France. If anyone has a similar story passed down in their family from one generation to the next, usually verbal from mother to daughter we would love to hear from you.
Robert

Fidel. I'm related to both Tomas Guerra and Justo Ramirez from Arcabuz & San Antonio de Reyna. Tomas Guerra's sister, Maria Candelaria Guerra, was my GGGG-grandmother. Justo Ramirez and his second wife, Estanislada Garcia, were my GGG-grandparents. Do you know who Justo's parents were? We might share other ancestors since there were only a few families in Arcabuz.

Thanks,

Jose G Garza Reyna

According to the LDS records, Marcial and Roman parents were Jesus Guerra and Dolores Sedios. All were from Mesilla, NM. My father recalls that the three brothers traveled from Mesilla, NM into Arizona and settled down in and round Mammoth and Tucson, AZ.

Please let me know if this information fits your research.

So then my grandfather Anastacio II and your grandmother Emilia must be brother and sister. That means Emilia is my dad's tia/Aunt!

This is so amazing! What nationally were you told your Grandma was? I would love to know because there are so many different stories.

By the way, Hello, my name is Merlinda Guerra.

I hope to hear from you soon. We have Guerra Family Reunions here in Los Angeles, CAlifornia. It would be great to share some stories. Is your father Jesse still alive? My dad is Reyes Guerra and he was one of the nine kids and just turned 80!

Please email me.

Merlinda Guerra (I'm still freaking out about this contact!
