It did show gregorio marrying alejandra sepulveda around the time your grandmother was born.Not sure needs further research. Maria de jesus 1930 census showed her as vuida age 890 living with Victoria G. de Garcia Guadalupe, Guadalupe Bravos, Chihua, Mexico (see)
1930 census showed gregoria guevara Living in los cajoes, guanajuto, born 1850 age 80 the same age as maria de jesus. I wish you luck in your search. You might try the church in mexico and I think this family was moving or the husband was traveling to look for work and that is why or maybe what was happening in mexico. The names were interchangeable I did see the mother of gregorio as gregoria guevara but and father name did write down but not sure if there was a link. Good luck and God bless!

I did find out from her father that, his grandfather's name was Manuel Baristo Flores

Please try familysearch.org and try the free search and try flipping the names around. In mexico they carry the mother's name and once in the us it's the father's. Hope this helps

I am also looking for Guevara family in Mexico. I am trying to trace my daughter's line and her father is not very helpful unfortunately. His name is Edgardo Delgadillo Geuvara.
his father was Manuel Alejandro Guevara born in Texcala Mexico in 1937 and died in 1983 (not sure where, possibly still texcala?)
Her grandmother's name is Maria Delordes Delgadio not sure her dates, but she is currently living in Mexico City. I think she has remarried, too. Maria's great uncle - Golel? Delgadillo living in Tijuana and Maria's grandfather's name is Manuel Baristo Forez (or Flores?). (please forgive any spelling errors)
That is what I know so far. Little bit more than my last post. yay!

Hi my name is Jose Luis Rodriguez-Guevara. I found out from my mother and aunts, who are from Humacao, that we have a lot of relatives in Palmas Del Mar. Apparently my grandfather's (Luciano Guevara) father, had a lot of children from various women. It would be interesting to see if we have the same cousins. I am looking to see where did my family originate from in Spain since I will be traveling there soon...

They were married and had at least one son, Edgardo Guevara, born around 1978 still living.

Manuel was born in Tescala, Mexico in 1937, an died in Mexico in 1983.

I have no dates for Maria. Only information is that she is currently living in Mexico City.
I think she has remarried, too.

That is all I know so far.

Puede parecer algo extraño y no dudo que lo sea el tenor de este email, pero las ventajas de este medio directo y global es que reducen drásticamente las limitaciones protocolares y sociales.
Intentaré ser lo más sinóptico, si es posible serlo. Mi bisabuela por rama paterna se llamaba Raquel Guevara Reimers, creo que ese dato reduce substancialmente las explicaciones. Mi bisabuelo Alberto Helfmann Reimers fue su primo hermano y marido. Alberto era uno de los hijos de Guillermo Helfmann casado con Minna Reimers
Mi abuela María Isabel Helfmann Guevara se casó con Eduardo Feuereisen Cuevas.
En fin, ya visto los parentescos lejanos la razón de mi mensaje radica en que casualmente y al buscar antecedentes sobre los Guevara Reimers, de los cuales algo sé por mis tíos abuelos Olga, Héctor y Sara Braun Guevara, que son hijos de Dorila Guevara Reimers, me topé con una conversación epistolar en Internet entre usted, Paula Francisca Burchard y otros descendientes Guevara por el mundo.
Sería interesante poder conversar por este u otro medio y quizá cotejar fotografías o documentos relacionados con los Guevara Reimers.

my grandfather's name was paulino, he had 12 brothers and sisters they lived in huaral which is north of lima. according to.my dad it used to be Ladron de Guevara but was changed.

El papá de Josefina, Juan De Dios, era hermano de mi abuelo Carlos Guevara. Mi bisabuelo era Agustín Guevara, casado con Genara Santini. Nací y me crié en Aibonito.

I did hear that they passed away from a relative. I was so sorry that I was not able to find them before their passing. My sister Carmen Vega and my brother Manny/Manuel Norat live in Lakeland Florida and I live in Naples. Our mother Josephine was Anna Aponte's sister.

Hello, Interesting that my father was also from Matamoros. His name is Juan Guevara and passed away there unsure when, possibly in the late 1960's or 70's. I was told that he was a baker by trade and loved to entertain in cantinas by playing guitar and singing. I only knew him up to the age of 3yrs. then we moved to Nebraska from Weslaco, TX. My mothers maiden name was Maria Garcia and she has also passed on. She was from Texas and so are all of my siblings, I however, was born in Arkansas and I'm the youngest of my family at 57 years old. I figure if my father were alive today that he would be around 93 years old. I'm just guestamating since my mother was born in 1913 and I was told by my siblings that he was around five years younger than her. My name is also Juan and I live in Omaha, NE.

My grand-father was Jesus Guevara Muñoz and at home we have a photo with his brothers, maybe we are related... he came to mexico city and we live over here. Don´t know for sure but think that we stil have family in arandas and jesus maria ´cause his cousins (and mine in 2nd degree) go over there. I need to ask to my uncles about that and maybe we found another part of the family!

Looking for my grandfather's family in Mexico and South America

My Grandfather, Gregorio Guevara, was one of six children born to my Great Grandmother, Beatriz Guevara de Dominguez who came from Spain in the late 1890's. The family first traveled to South America and then to Mexico. The family was considered fugitives and all Spanish citizens. My grandfather's name was Gregorio. His siblings were: Beatriz, who was the oldest and remained somewhere in Central America; younger brothers, Luciano, Francisco, Tranquilino and sister Guadalupe. When they came to Mexico in the early 1900's they applied for Mexican citizenship, but denied. My grandfather and his brothers Luciano and Tranquilino joined the Mexican military to fight against Pancho Villa's troups in that civil war in exchange for Mexican citizenship. Tranquilino, was killed in that war. He was 15 years old. My Great Grandmother, Grandfather and Luciano settled in Sinaloa, Mexico. His sister, Guadalupe and brother, Francisco moved on to other places, perhaps even to the U.S.

Does anyone have any information on his sister, Beatriz, born sometime in 1880's who remained somewhere in South America, brother Francisco and sister who were born in Mexico but then moved away from the family?

Saludos. Somos potencialmente familia. Los Guevara en Puerto Rico se establecieron en Aibonito cuando era una aldea de Coamo. Luego Aibonito fue hecho Municipio separado. Parte de la familia se fue hacia Isabela.

El más antiguo de los que tengo conocimiento es mi bisabuelo, Don Agustín Guevara Santiago. Sé que parte de los Guevara fueron a vivir también a Guayama pero no tengo conocimiento de cómo llegaron a Humacao. Si me envías los datos completos de tu papá te puedo conseguir más información.

I am not sure who I am related to on the Guevara side, my grandfather passed when I was almost 2 years old, the only Guevaras I know of are my mothers siblings & their kids & grandkids. We are a big family in ourselves, & the only thing my grandmother told me before she passed in 1998 was that she met my grandfather Ramon Guevara when he was traveling with a circus & he stayed in Beeville with her & settled with kids.

Hi, I am looking for any information on Jose de la Cruz Guevara and family. He was married to Juana Gonzalez who was born around 1836 (daughter of Jose Gonzales and Ignacia Quintero). They had 6 children that I know of - Primo (b. 1852), Serapio, Rafael, Lupe, and Pio (b. 5/5/1862-my great-grandfather). Primo married Magdalena Vidrio and had 10 children. Serapio maried Maria Hurtado and had 5 children. Rafael married Modesta Garcia and had 2 children. Isabel married Juan Serrano and had 10 children. Pio married Marta Esqueda and had 2 children. I know that Pio immigrated to San Francisco in 1916 with his wife and children. I know that four of Primo's children immigrated as well but would like to know when. All lived in the San Francisco/Sacramento area. Thanks for your help.

Yes, my aunt, Rosario Guevara. My Grandfather, Gregorio Guevara, immigrated to Mexico from Central America in early 1900's. He had two previous marriages and families in Central America. My grandfather's parents had some kind of problem with Spain. They were named as enemies of Spain, under Guevara. She traveled to Spain in 1994 to request a pardon for her grandparents to have their names lifted. Spain granted the pardon. We still have relatives in Spain and my cousins have traveled to visit a couple of times. I lived in Germany for six years, my family asked me to go visit them to introduce myself, but I never went.

I have a Martin Ladron de Guevara, married to Beatriz de Heredia, in Queretaro in the early 17th century. Many generations descended from them continued to live in Queretaro. They are listed as "Espanol", Spanish. Has anyone traced this family to Spain and possibly to the noble Guevaras of Alava and Navarra in Spain? Thank you, Michael Haines, wotan2u@aol.com
