Stacy,
Hi I have been tracing my family for some time. My line came from
Switzerland in 1880 directly to the USA into Whitelake New York. and across
the US. I live in Sacramento, Ca. Born In Sioux City IA.
I got this info about a Joseph Guillaume burried in Peru In b 1847 b 1902. From a possable cousin who believes his Gfather was kin to mine.
Below you mentioned a Joseph Guillaume of which I would think had their been a Joseph some where in our line that name would show up again down the line.
Can you confirm this person is or is not of your family line? Did your family
come directly to USA or did they come in through another AMERICAN country
like Canada or Mexico? If they did come to the USA what state? And where did
they settle in first?
CC Wayne Guillaume

Looking for a Guillaume

I am trying to continue my family history. I can only go back to my 5thG Grandfather, Killian Creek (Krieg, Grieg, Gerig, etc). I am trying to find his parents so that I can link back to Germany (his father).

One of the spellings of the name Killian is Guillaume. I am trying to find his mother my using his given name as her surname, as that was a common naming technique in the past.

The general conclusion is that Killian's parents MAY have been Rebecca and Jacob (John, Johannes, James). I have found record of a Jacob Krieg who came to Lancaster Co, PA on the Snow Louisa in 1752. I can't prove he's my 6th G Grandfather, however.

I believe that Killian's parents would have been born sometime between the late 1690's and 1730. Killian was born 1750 (either in Lancaster Co, PA or Germany).

If anyone has any information that might link with my search, I would greatly appreciate it. My email is: pretty_purple_polka_dot@yahoo.com

Thanks!

Desi

Was wondering if you know of Fred's siblings? I have a Stephen(I think) wife Elizabeth Peter, daughter Elizabeth(married name Lahr) and I think a daughter and son named Charlotte and Louis. I know Elizabeth Lahr was born around the Pittsburgh area. She is buried in Pittsburgh. I cannot tell where Stephen and Elizabeth were born. Cannot read it on Elizabeth Lahr's death certificate.
Thank you
Tina

GUILLAUME Family of La Crosse WI / USA

Henry GUILLAUME and his wife Anna GREIVELDING immigrated to the USA on 15.07.1874. with her daughter Anna GUILLAUME. All three were born in Strassen, a village 2 miles east of Luxembourg-city. They settled in La Crosse WI where they were engaged in the florist business for 35 years, from 1881 to 1916. Their flower-store, the first in La Crosse, was located at Fifth an Main streets. Henry GUILLAUME died in La Crosse on 29.05.1913. His wife Anna GREIVELDING died also in La Crosse on 06.02.1924. They had several children: Anna GUILLAUME, Ida GUILLAUME, Emma GUILLAUME (spouse of John T.Mc GILL), Catherine GUILLAUME (spouse of Fred FREIMARK), Susie GUILLAUME and Henry C(harles) GUILLAUME (spouse of Anna BODEN). I am looking for informations about descendants of Anna GUILLAUME and Susie GUILLAUME (names, where they live or lived, where they are burried etc.)
On the death of Anna GUILLAUME-GREIVELDING, the mother of the fore-mentionned children, it was said that she was survived by nephew John SCHMIDT of Chicago and by five grandchildren.
Could anybody help me to find these grandchildren and their descendants (included John SCHMIDT of Chicago).
Henry GUILLAUME sr. had also a brother named Jean-Baptiste GUILLON or GUILLAUME who also settled in or near La Crosse WI. Since 1925 all relations with the GUILLON Family of Strassen were cut. Does somebody could give me informations about Jean-Baptiste GUILL(AUME)ON.

Probably not, but a good try! I have seen Guillaume spelled several ways based on its phonetic sounding (Gilliam, in particular), but not with a V. Geary is Irish and I have seen it mispelled as Gary, but not with a J.

Thanks for inquirring.
Nancy
