My grandfathers name is Jose Daniel Gurule, born: Rancho de Los Encinos,Glorieta, NM (spouse is Maria Asencion de Vargas, Born: Tres Piedras, NM), his fathers name is Juan Crisostomo Gurule who was married to Maria Virginia (Delfina) Mitilde Gurule.

My dad's name is Daniel Federico Gurule and my mom's name is Clarita Barela.

Lola S. Gurule (1916-2011)

Lola S. Gurule, 94, a long time resident of Barstow, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2011. Lola was born Aug. 5, 1916 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Lola moved to Barstow with her loving husband, Joe, in 1945, and briefly was a Harvey Girl at the Santa Fe Railroad Harvey House (Casa Del Desierto). She also taught catechism at Mt. Saint Joseph for about 40 years. During the rest of her years, she dedicated herself to raising her family and enjoyed extensive traveling with her husband.
Lola was preceded in death by her loving husband, Joe Gurule after 73 years of marriage.
Lola will be missed by many friends and family, including her daughters, Ocariz and her husband, Sam Duran, Elsie and her husband, Richard Duran; her son, Gilbert Gurule and his friend, Jeffrey Quillinan; her grandchildren, Tony Jack, Valerie, and Rachel; great-grandchildren, Jennifer, Amy, Jason, Courtney, Evangeline, Idalia, Crystal, and James; and great-great-grandchildren, Leah, Carly, Emily, Kaden.
Services for Lola will be on Friday, Feb. 18, 2011 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 505 E. Mt. View. Rosary will be at 9 a.m., with the funeral mass at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Mt. View Memorial Park, 37067 Irwin Road.

Also, the information on Tom's birth certificate indicates that Oliver was born in New Mexico and was 35 at the time of Tom's birth and Judith was born in Oklahoma and was 25.

All I know for sure is that Judith was in Illinois in 1975 and gave birth to a son she named Thomas William Gurule.

Tom was raised by a foster family in Oklahoma starting in 1979.

My husband and I are also looking for Oliver Roland Gurule. My husbands name is Thomas William Gurule and he was born in Illinois in 1975, the son of Oliver Roland Gurule and Judith Marcine Gurule (Schultz).

Is it possible that you two are related? Tom is searching for family members on both sides as he was raised in a foster home here in Oklahoma.

I've got the genealogy for this guy, and almost missed it because I show his name is Frank L. Gurule. His parents were married in 1928 in Anton Chico.

Write to me and I'll give you the rest -- he's a direct descendant....all the way back to the late 1600's.

In this Church of Abiquiu, today the 10th of Nov of 1898, I married Juan Chavez, single legitimate son of Jose Ramon Chavez, deceased, and of Victoria Gurule, with Maria Dela Cruz Gurule, widow in 1st marriage of Jesus Torrez, legitimate daughter of Antonio Gurule and of Nestora Sanchez. Wits: (no Name listed) Sanchez and Catarina Marquez.

Juan Crisostomo Gurule was my great grandfather who married Virgina Gurule on 10/14/1887 in Santa Fe New Mexico. But, I have Juan Crisostomo Gurule's birthdate as 1/27/1861 not 2/18/1855. I got this from the US Census, and his grave marker in Canon Vallecitos, New Mexico..

Hi Does Daniel Gurule have several brother and sisters that were named, Toibio, Esteban, Jose, Delfina, Florinda, Paulita? Daniel Gurule's father is buried in Canon Plaza 5 miles north of Vallecitos, NM his name was Juan Crisostomo Gurule married to Virgina Gurule. Juan Crisostomo's father was Juan Crisobal Gurule married to Gertudis Gutierrez.
If this is the same Daniel Gurule, and his wife was ??? He use to come visit my grandmother Delfina Gurule DeVargas in Canon Plaza, and I use to pray with him at night before bedtime.

an Epifanio Gurule died Nov. 23, 1964 in Bernalillo County but I don't know more than that about him but would like to.

I just finished reading the history of the Gurule Surname and now I am even more confused than before. My grandmothers maiden name is Archibeque, and My grandfather is Gurule. Niether of them speak much or should I say are willing to speak much about our family history. I do know that my grandmother lived in Utah for most of her life, and that my grandfather grew up in new mexico. but other than that I know nothing...or at least not enough. Anyone who can help, I'd be extremely grateful.

My fathers name was Nickolas Gurule born in Belen N.M. and my Grand father was Meliton Gurule I believe was born in N.M. I've been trying to find my ancestry. My mother maiden name was Marylou Rodriguez born in Mexico somewhere her mother died giving birth to my mother. My mother was raised in a orphanage somewhere a Catholic orphanage I belive in Mexico. My mother was 1/2 Indian and my dad was 1/4 Indian. Can anyone help me with my ancestry?

Hi, I'm looking for information on my father's family. I have nothing past a few names -- no date of births or marriage dates or anything like that. Sorry. I know that this is a long, long, LONG shot.

I know that his name was Tony (Anthony) Gurule. His mother was Ginger Anderson and his father was Ponicano Gurule. I was born in 1987, so he could be anywhere from forty years old and up. I believe that he comes from either Oregon or Northern California, but that is just speculation based on where my mother was living at those times.

Is the spelling of Jarales correct.? There was a town known as Los Jacales in New Mexico. It was located about 27 miles south of Las Vegas, New Mexico along the east banks of the Gallinas River.
Los Jacales was also known as Los Jacales Concepcion; La Concepcion, Valles de Concepcion Imaculada.
Baptisms and marriages were done at the San Ysidro el Labrador Catholic Church in Chaperito.
Los Jacales and Chaperito no longer exist and are on private land.

Petra Gurule, born 05/21/1869 in Canoncito, NM; died 06/28/1933 in Tucumcari, NM; daughter of Juan Pablo Candelaria Gurule and Maria Rafaela Ramirez.
Petra Gurule married Sosteno Romero, son of Jose Miguel Esquipulas Romero and Maria Justa Martin on 06/06/1907 at Santa Rosa, NM.
I have a cousin living in Tucumcari whose lineage is also from Petra Gurule and Sosteno Romero.

I am transcribing the Evergreen Cemetary in Ontario, Malheur Co., Oregon and thought I would post pictures of the Pre-1900 headstones for those interested in having them.
