Sarah,

My home burned to the ground three years ago and everything in it was lost. Most precious/valuable was all of the research notes as well as copies of documents & family photos I had collected over the past 25+ years. It was truly devastating. All I had was a backup copy of my genealogy database. If I'd lost that, I would never have recovered. It's hard enough losing all the documents and, worst of all, the photos. Heartbreaking. If you could email me the photos, I'd be ever most grateful.

Thanks! Darlene

Hi Darlene,
Bob and I have been in contact for years and I think I have sent him all the photos mentioned. Sorry you couldn't get through to me-- I thought I had changed my contact info in all the mailing lists when I retired and changed email. I thought I had also corresponded with you years ago and sent you a CD with photos. At least my email archives seem to tell me that! Don't you have them?

Sarah

Bob,

Were you ever in contact with Sarah Dart? I saw an old post of hers from 2003 that stated she had photos of this family line. I emailed her but it came back undeliverable... I would love to locate her to get copies of these photos. Here is some information from her post, which has family data for you as far as the parents & grandparents of John Lupton Hague:

James R. Hague b. 1790 in Loudoun County, Virginia. Moved to Ohio with his grandfather James Rattekin/Rattikane in 1808 and lived in Tuscarawas County, Ohio.

James R. Hague (b.1790)'s eldest son Joseph S. Hague b. 1813 Tuscarawas, Ohio and his wife Elizabeth Ann Russell b. abt 1813, d. 1863.

James R. Hague (b.1790)'s youngest son Robert Hague (b.1820
Tuscarawas, Ohio) and his wife Martha Ann Jones.

Joseph S. Hague and Elizabeth Ann Russell's 4 children: James Russell Hague (b. 1838)(Also his wife Susan Stewart), John Lupton Hague (b. 1840), William H. Hague (b. 1842) (Also his wife Margaret "Maggie") and Joseph R. Hague (b. 1846).

Darlene Athey Hill

Turner also went by Roberts more than Robirds. James was about the only one that went by Robirds. Polly Hogg married Ezekiel Gibson who is the father of Elizabeth Gibson, James' wife. He actually signed as the witness. This I believe was 1893 in Morgan County. I have some more information if you want to email me!
Elaine Campbell
ecampbell@zoomtown.com

Hi David,
yes that is right about Minne and Alfred (my grandparents) coming into Seattle from Vancover with Raymond and Stanley (my Dad). They were married in 1912 in Winnepeg. I found the census I believe you mentioned and posted to tree where Grandad at 14 was working for a newspaper, a hobby he continued throughout his life. Alfred worked as a paymaster for the trans Canada RR. Then went on to be in charge of all the transportation (train and trucking) for Sears and Roebuck Stores in the US. They moved from Seattle to Boston in the 193o's where they lived until they died 50 some years later. They were wonderful grandparents.! I have several picture of Mary Ann and Arthur but they both died before I was born.
My regular email is lpletch@earthlink.net. Not sure as I'm not active (paying )on ancestory I couldn't get to your tree from just the link in the messages.
Lynda Cook Pletcher

Mary Ann Hague was my 2 x Great Aunt. The last address I have for Arthur and Mary Ann is Town Club Chambers, Nottingham on the 1901 census when Alfred was listed as a Newsagents Assistant. I have no information for 1911 yet as the census for England is still only available in summary form.
I picked up Aug 1919 as the date Alfred and Minnie moved to Seattle from the US naturalization records.
The Tree is available for public view and hopefully you can see all this. I will update as soon as any more information is available from the census, parish records or trade directories.
Hope this is useful.

David Hague
I thoght I'd sent this but it's not appearing on the message board, so I'll try again.

The link to Henry 1841 is correct; he is my 2 x Great Grandfather.
The last UK information I have on Harold and Annie is the 1911 Census (Sunday 2 April) which shows him as a Tram Car Conductor and them living at 78 Highbury Avenue, Bulwell, Nottingham. Also living with them at the time were Annie's parents (Henry and Susannah) and Annie's older sister (Elizabeth).
1911 seems to have been a momentous year as I believe that Harold and Annie married sometime between January and April and then immigrated to Canada in the same year.
Hope this helps.
David Hague
Looking at your information I believe our trees connect at Henry (1841). Annie (1881) his daughter married in England (we have the Bible the church gave them on their wedding day) & immigrated first to Canada and then to the US. I'd be interested in seeing what you have and sharing what I have.

I am currently researching my father's family - the Hague family of Nottinghamshire/Derbyshire - going back through the direct line of Harry (1915), Ben (1894), Henry (1866), Henry (1841), Benjamin (1808), Joseph (1786), Benjamin (1759), Joseph (1718), Thomas (1670) and Nicholas (1650).

Does anyone have a credible link between the surnames Hague and Hage, as the latter name also has a traceable tree in the Nottinghamshire area?

Any help would be gratefully appreciated!

Hi Donna
I'm not sure that I can be of much help as I have only recently learnt that my great grandfather William Hague came from Belturbet in Cavan and I am not aware yet of any of his relatives called Robert. I believe William Hague's father may have been called Hugh, as there was a Hugh Hague with a son William at about the right time in Belturbet, but again I haven't been able to confirm that yet. Hugh Hague may also have had a brother called William Hague who may be the father of another William Hague who was a well known architect in Cavan.
The story handed down in our family was that our ancestors came over with William of Orange at the Battle of the Boyne. This may then explain the name Hague if they came from that part of Holland.
Good luck in hunting down Robert Hague
John

It mentions a wife, & children, John, Margaret Dague Brouse, Sarah Dague Bruce & harriet Dague Davidson.
I am looking for the parents of William Hague, born 12/16/1817 in Pennsylvania or Virginia. He married Mary Hayes 2/7/1839 in Guernsey County, Ohio.

William and Mary were in Guernsey County, Ohio in 1840. By 1850 they were in Stock, Monroe County, Ohio. In 1860 they were living in Hamblen, Brown County, Indiana.

William's mother was Catharine, born 4/16/1776. (Information from her tombstone - Catharine Hague, mother of William, born 4/16/1776)). On census records, William indicates both parents born in Pennsylvania.

I haven't been able to locate Catharine in the 1850 census.

I'd appreciate any leads you can give me.

Thanks!
William F Hague was born 1855 in Belturbet Co Cavan, he later moved to liverpool around 1870 i believe. His parents were Hugh Hague a Grocer and his mother Mary Anne. I can't find any further information about them in Cavan or go further back. If anyone can help me or put me in touch with someone that could do local research in Cavan i would greatly appreciate it.
