Sarah Luzader (1852 - 1933) west virginia & Ohio

Does anyone have any information on Sarah's first marriage. Her second marriage was to General Beauregard Haley. All I know about her first marriage was that it was to a man with the last name of Weaver. The marriage took place between 1870 - 1885. She lived in Gilmer, West Virginia so it probably took place in West Virginia. I know that she was a widow by 1886. That is when she married General Beauregard Haley in Harrison, WV.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you Lucy

I would appreciate any information on my grandfather's birth date. I have anywhere from 1880 - 1886. It is important because it makes a difference as to whom his father is. It could be either General Beauregard Haley or a man with the last name of Weaver. He is the son of Sarah Ann Luzader which may of been spelled Luzetta with her first husband. They were from Wood, West Virginia.

Haleys in Hamilton

Here is what I have:
As part of my research as I looked for my Haleys I found a family of Haleys in the Census records of Canada living in Ontario, Canada with some family member names which matched the family I was looking for, but were not my ancestors. Anyway, I saved the info (collateral research you can never let go!)
William Healy m. to Betty. Wm. was born in Ireland around 1801 and Betty around 1808, also from Ireland. They were part of the Fitzwilliam Estate clearances and came to Canada in 1853. With them came Michael (aka Mick) b. 1834; Mary-Anne b. 1837; John b. 1839; Peter b. 1841; Sally b. 1843; Pat b. 1848; and Tom, born 1851.
They were from Killinure Townland, Aghowle parish. They sailed from New Ross on the ship Dunbrody to Canada. (The same ship, probably not the same trip, as the ship which brought President Kennedy's gr-grandfather (grandfather?) to the new world.) Once they got to Canada it appears they changed the spelling of their name to Haley.
Anyway, their daughter Mary Ann MIGHT be the Mary Haley you are looking for? She would fit age-wise as far as a marriage and a daughter born in 1860. That's all I have. I never did any more research on this family because they are not my direct ancestors.

THANKS FOR YOUR REPLY.
I HAVE THAT INFO ON ZACHARIAH, THE ONLY REAL BLANK I HAVE FOR HIM IS, HIS FATHER WILSON F DIED IN 1852, MARSHALL KY,WE WERE ALWAYS TOLD, THAT THE MOTHER REBECCA DIED SHORTLY THERAFTER. THE KIDS WERE SPLIT UP, I FIND SOME OF THE GIRLS TOGETHER IN A CENSUS, BUT ZACHARIAH WAS ONLY 5 YEARS OLD. STORY HE PASSED DOWN TO HIS CHILDREN WAS AN OLDER MAN TOOK HIM IN, AND ALLOWED HIM TO RETIAN HIS NAME, WHO AND WHERE IS MY ONLY BLANK ON HIM.
THE JACKSON FAMILY TREE HAS SOME REALLY GOOD INFO, I KNOW THIS LADY AND SHE HAS BEEN GREAT HELP. HER G DAD AND MY G GRAND MOTHER WERE MARRIED.
I JUST CAN NOT FIND ANYTHING CONCRETE ABOUT MARY E(MOLLIE)
THE MARY WHO DECENDS FROM THOMAS IS SHOWN TO MARRY A CHANDLIER, I THINK, ANYWAY THEY SEEM TO HAVE PROOF OF HER DEATHAND BURIAL.
MY MARY AND ZACHARIAH ARE BOTH BURIED A MITHCELL CEMETERY, IN GREENWAY AR. I LIVE VERY CLOSE TO THERE. SHE DIED IN 1932 BUT THE DR DID NOT FILE A DEATH CERTIFICATE, SO I DO NOT HAVE THAT INFO TO WORK FROM. I HAVE A "POYNER" HISTORY FROM THE HENRY TN COUNTY LIBRARY, BUT CANT' PLACE MARY ANYPLACE.
ANYONE RESEARCHING THE POYNER, THIS MIGHT BE HELPFUL TO YOU
SHIRLEY

Hi Theresa,
On my public family tree on Ancestry.com you can check out the Healy/Haleys in my ancestry to see if they are related in any way to the Healys you are researching. If I can help you, let me know.
From what I can determine, my Healys came from the Fitzwilliam Estate, Co. Wicklow, Ireland, around or just prior to the potato famine. They lived and worked on the estate and were put off it due to policies enacted by Lord Fitzwilliam at that time.
Good luck with your search! Maureen

Joel Arthur Haley (1882-1930) Wichita Falls, Texas

I'm hoping to hear from descendants of this family:

Joel Arthur Haley, Sr. was born March 18, 1882 and died January 19, 1930 in Wichita Falls, Wichita County, Texas. He married Cammie May Rhymes before 1906. She was born December (or January) 29, 1881 in Bandera County, Texas and died November 14, 1976.

Children of Joel Arthur Haley, Sr. and Cammie May Rhymes:

- Rama Lois Haley was born December 15, 1906 in Abilene, Taylor County, Texas and died November 1991.

- Rev. Joel Arthur Haley, Jr. was born April 13, 1910 and died August 7, 1995 in McLennan County, Texas.

- Gordon Rhymes Haley was born January 21, 1913 in Texas, USA and died October 5, 1987 in Dallas County, Texas.

I'm also trying to learn the circumstances of Joel Arthur Haley's death in 1930. According to family history, he was murdered in Wichita Falls on or about January 19, 1930. After searching numerous sources for more information, I've come up empty handed.

I'd appreciate hearing from descendants - as well as anyone having more information. I am related.

Thanks...

hi deidre, thanks for the info. st. john's c of e heidelberg was behind my grandparents house (frank and mary stock nee haley. i beleive my late dad leslie john haley was christened there. i am a member of the phillip island geneology society so i will have to attend there and try and trace back to nicholas haley 1572. they have lots of enthusiastic helpers there and access to lots of records so this will be a starting point for me, thanks. stilla mystery why most of henry and sarah's childrens' births were not on vic records. wow, 8 generations back from abraham and sarah sharpe, any advice for me to get back that far as i am quite new to this, regards, dawn.
Dawn, I have a lot of detailed information re Wulliam Snape Fuller,Sarah Wilson Haley and Henry Gibson Haley, but can only respond here to the points you have raised. The marriage was 1 June 1862 at St John's C of E, Heidelberg. Sarah was born in 1844 and died on 27 October 1925 at 169 Bank St, South Melbourne. This was the couple's 8th South Melbourne address.

Henry had an earlier child born in England after his transportation. He was also named Henry Dewhurst Haley and was born early in 1837 in Halifax, Yorkshire West Riding, England. Henry married Alice Lee on 12 January 1869 in St John's Church of England, Heidelberg. He died on 29 April 1898 in East Ham, Essex, England. The marriage produced 13 children, all born in various parts of England.

Henry Gibson Haley came to Melbourne in February 1939 on a coastal steamer to meet with Cornelius, who arrived from England at that time. It would appear that Cornelius had Henry "assigned" to his care. Tickets of leave for a 14 year sentence are usualy only granted after 8 years. He was one of three working on a 9,820 acre sheep run for Cornelius between Diamond Creek and Hurstbridge.

I do not have full details for the places of birth, simply George 1943 Diamond Creek, Sarah 1844 Melbourne, John 1846, Henry 1847 Alexandra, Mary Ann 1849, Elizabeth Jane 1851 Dia0ond Creek, Lucy 1853, Eliza 1854, Evelyn 1857, Abraham 1860 Darebin, Eliza 1863 Diamond Creek, Edith Emily Lucy 5 August 1867 Diamond Creek.

Yes, I know about the Diamond Creek cemetery, where a lot of the relatives were buried. As for the ancestors of Abraham and Sarah I can go back a further 8 generations, and have the names of the wives but no details for them. The last certain date on my record is for the birth of Nicholas Healey in 1572 in Birstall, Yorkshire. (The name began to change quite a lot from generation to generation.)

I don't know how much of this you have, but hope it helps - Deidre.
hi deidre, good to hear from you. yes i had sarah the 2nd child of henry gibson and sarah wilson haley being married to william snape fuller in 1862? i have her birth as about 1845 and her death as 1925 in sth melb? i also notice that henry and mary ann were married in 1854 in melb but had children dating back to 1843. do you know why they didn't marry until 1854? maybe henry being a convict in nsw took off to vic without a ticket of leave or pardon? im aware that henry and mary ann haley had 12 children also the last two were born in diamond creek but i haven't found where the other 10 were born. i have all the names and approx years but not places of birth. are you aware that both henry and mary ann haley are buried at the nillumbik cemetery. i would love to share any info and im especially interested to know how far back you have gone. i haven't found abraham and sarah sharpe's parents as yet , although i do have a copy of their marriage in 1811 in halifax. regards, dawn winn (nee haley)
I'm on it all the time, thanks to my phone app.

And sorry, those surnames don't mean much to me. Clark I recognize only from Ancestry, since Nancy Jane Haley married Moses Clark.
Hello, I see you posted this some time ago. He was my great, great grandfather, and I have been researching him quite a bit for the last year. Unfortunately, I still can't figure out who his father is. You can reach me at wsarraille@aol.com. Thanks.

I have been looking for you, or your side of the family. I have Cenia, Henry's daughter married Mr. Donahue, that's all I have for her. I have conflicting dates on when Henry died but I know he married Elizabeth Ward. I am actually working on the Gardner's right now. Write me at kbyrd352@yahoo.com. I have some pictures you would want to see if you live close to Elk County I can show you. Too many to copy or send.

Kathy
