Clarence is mentioned on page 50 of "The Hallowell-Paul Family History" by Mary Paul Hallowell Hough published in 1924. This book is available at Heritage Pursuit on the internet.

He is a 6th generation descendant of John Hallowell, a Quaker, who migrated to the Philadelphia area in 1683 from England.

I hope this helps you.

Hi - I have updated information on these Hallowell of Pennsylvania lines following my extensive transcription of all Philadelphia and Montgomery Co. marriage, birth and death records -- and many extensions/corrections to the already published works such as Hallowell-Paul, Hallowell/Longstreh & Penrose Histories etc. I plan on publishing a book that revises and updates all Hallowell's of Pennsylvania and am looking for any more information including living male descendants who would like to participate in an ongoing DNA study of this line.

Bruce - I'd be interested in participating in a DNA study. I am a direct male descendant of John Hallowell, the Quaker immigrant. I'd also be interested in your proposed book and offer my help in any way I can. I'm retired and live in Cherry Hill, NJ.

Does your info include a Harry Hallowell born around 1894 possibly in Camden New Jersey? I cant find the census with him as a child. He was either born in Pennsylvania or Camden. He married Ada Davis and had 5 girls and he died before 1930 and I'm not sure where or how.
